Your source info as given for this image doesn't appear to line up. The source you gave can be found here: http://historymatters.gmu.edu/d/6786 but the image of Judge Horton does not appear to be anywhere on that pamphlet. Dear Wikimedians,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2013 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the eighth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2013) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. The top 30 overall and the most popular image in each category have continued to the final. In the final round, you may vote for just one image to become the Picture of the Year.

Dear Rodrigolopes,

The 2013 Picture of the Year competition has ended and we are pleased to announce the results: We shattered participation records this year — more people voted in Picture of the Year 2013 than ever before. In both rounds, 4070 different people voted for their favorite images. Additionally, there were more image candidates (featured pictures) in the contest than ever before (962 images total).

  • In the first round, 2852 people voted for all 962 files
  • In the second round, 2919 people voted for the 50 finalists (the top 30 overall and top 2 in each category)

We congratulate the winners of the contest and thank them for creating these beautiful images and sharing them as freely licensed content:

  1. 157 people voted for the winner, an image of a lightbulb with the tungsten filament smoking and burning.
  2. In second place, 155 people voted for an image of "Sviati Hory" (Holy Mountains) National Park in Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine.
  3. In third place, 131 people voted for an image of a swallow flying and drinking.

I've just uploaded my first Flickr photos donated by a photographer. You nominated the above one for deletion. I am uncertain of the steps I needed to follow. I uploaded the photo to Commons, and it was waiting approval by a human on the license from Flickr. Then I uploaded it to WP. Was I supposed to wait until they had received approval on Commons for the Flickr licensing before uploading to WP? I want to learn the process to add more to Commons later. About the photos

I' ve uploaded all these pictures representing the Peloponessian Folklore Foundation, in order to help the Europeana Fashion Editathon in Athens, which starts in a few hours. We had the same problem a few days ago and a museum's tutor send e - mail to the OTRS. I though that the task was solved so I don't know what's wrong now. Olá Rodrigo, estou organizando este edit-a-thon] para otimizar o uso das imagens e tamém para estimular o pessoal a contribuir com os artigos com base no WLE 2015. Gostaria da sua ajuda para esse planejamneto e melhoria das informações. Outra questão que gostaria de ver contigo é sobre a filtragem das fotos que seguirão para análise dos jurados. Precisaremos filtrar só as melhores, acha que vale criar uma categoria no commons pra isso? Assim ja vamos descartando as inelegíveis e selecionando as de maior qualidade. Aguardo seu retorno. Nomear fotos

Olá Rodrigolopes! Vi que você expressou dúvidas de como avaliar imagens para serem nomeadas para o destaque. Bem, explicando o guia que você leu de uma forma bem resumida: 1- uma imagem destacada deve ter uma resolução longe da borda de 2 Mpx: quase nenhuma uma imagem destacada tem uma resolução igual ao interior a esta; 2- deve ter alta qualidade, ou seja, um alto grau de nitidez: quase nenhuma tem uma qualidade média (sem ruído, sem chromatic aberration, etc.); deve transmitir grandiosidade, daquelas que a gente pensa uau, o chamado wow factor; 3- deve ter uma composição (conjunto de elementos) agradáveis (geralmente eles ajudam no wow factor). Veja exemplos de FP (Featured pictures, fotos destacadas) em Commons:FP. Em relação à imagem que você mencionou, não acho que ela seja FP, ela não tem um nível de nitidez alto e falta composição: o assunto da foto (o cálice) está cortado, não é possível vê-lo inteiro. Question about a deletion

I'm not challenging the deletion itself but can you tell me what was wrong with File:GBBF 2009 glass (13972759508).jpg (deleted as a copyright violation; you left the message on my talk page)? I can't remember what this image was and can't find it again on Flickr, so I can't work out what I got wrong. I'd like to learn from my mistake, so I don't repeat it. Uma dúvida

Olá, eu posso colocar essa foto no Commons sobre domínio público? Na foto mostra os irmãos Daisy e Harry Earles em uma cena do filme freaks em 1932, Pois vi essa foto: File:FreaksPoster2.jpg que se encontra em domínio público, e é uma imagem derivada do filme, as fotos são da década de 30, e esse pôster de 49, e possui o copyright vencido, então como as fotos do filme são de alguns anos antes acredito que também estejam, ou seja, fotos derivadas do filme se encontram em domínio público?

Io non capisco la tua risposta! Da cosa hai concluso che l'ho presa sul personale? Ho solo detto che nella pagina in questione c'era il simbolo per un uso non commerciale. Allora chiedo di sapere, visto che lavoro su Wikipedia da poco, se questa enciclopedia ha un uso commerciale o no. La foto inoltre è della NASA (e mi pare che siano, tranne poche, di pubblico dominio). Se bisogna toglierla, toglietela. Non capisco cosa ci sia da discutere. L'importante è che esista una regola. Se è stata infranta (ma mi si spieghi in cosa) si proceda pure. Cordiali saluti. P.S. Ho provveduto già a rimuoverla e l'ho sostituita con un'analoga immagine direttamente dal sito della NASA. Dúvidas sobre duas imagens

Olá Rodrigo, já que estávamos falando sobre outras imagens e vi que você é um License Reviewer, gostaria de tirar dúvidas quanto às licenças que inseri para duas imagens cujo upload fiz recentemente. São elas Clube Atlético Mineiro 1937.jpg e Galo-1914.jpg, ambas retiradas do website oficial do Clube Atlético Mineiro, aqui. I've placed {{Speedy}} tags on half a dozen flickr images, where the image was 60 percent or more just a poster. I figured that when the poster is too large to be considered de minimus we need a separate permission from whomever owned the IP rights to the poster. The bulk of the images I have uploaded to the "Carters Steam Fair" category may as well be deleted please as I doubt I will be able to prove copyright release at this point. Can you suggest a bulk tool that will allow me to mark a group of images in the category as "nominate for deletion"? I understand how I can do this via the "Tools / Nominate for deletion" gadget for each file, but do not wish to have to do this over 90 times for each file page one at a time. Is there a quicker way than having to open each image's page individually and clicking "nominate for deletion pending"?

The small number of files I wish to remain I have tagged as "OTRS pending" in line with COM:OTRS, pending email confirmation from Carters Steam Fair.

Categorização das imagens do Museu da Imigração

Olá Rodrigo, a categoria Media contributed by the Immigration Museum of the State of São Paulo‎ é uma sub-cateoria de Category:Immigration_Museum_of_the_State_of_São_Paulo. Quanto a categorização, me parece que a categoria raiz Category:Immigration Museum of the State of São Paulo devam agrupar todas as imagens do Museu (prédio) e a categoria Category:Media contributed by the Immigration Museum of the State of São Paulo as imagens enviadas através do projeto. Valeu pela força, se puder dar uma força no projeto, bota seu nome lá na Wikipédia ;-). Pois é eu fiquei nessa dúvida na hora de categorizar, concordo com sua categorização. Agora tenho outra dúvida, o atual Museu da Imigração do Estado de São Paulo, recebeu o nome de Memorial do Imigrante, portanto há uma categoria Category:Memorial_do_Imigrante que já não faz mais sentido, acho que seria interessante coloca-la como sub-categoria do Museu ou então mover seu conteúdo. Várias das fotos ali listadas são do tempo em que o predio funcionava como Hospedaria dos Imigrantes. Na wikipedia o artigo ficou meio bagunçado, colocaram todas as informações no mesmo saco, creio que vamos desmembrar em 2 artigos, um do museu falado da historia da instituição e outro da hospedaria com a historia do edificio. @Rodrigo Padula: , com certeza vou me inscrever. Vou dar uma olhada melhor no artigo para tirar alguma conclusão. Um problema que observei nas fotos carregadas e que pode gerar alguma dúvida sobre a origem é que são nomeados 2 fotógrafos como autores das imagens, o que exige a autorização destes para a publicação, veja COM:SOURCE. Não sei quantos fotógrafos estão envolvidos no projeto, mas me parece que o mais adequado seria cada um deles ter sua conta para carregar as fotos, marcando-as com {{Own work}}. Uma outra solução seria cada fotógrafo encaminhar a permissão para publicação da imagem através do OTRS, o que possibilitaria a conta atual de continuar carregando as imagens. Pois é, depois que eles carregaram os arquivos verifiquei que nos metadados gerados pela camera estão os nomes dos fotografos, porém todas as imagens são de propriedade do Museu e os fotografos são funcionários. Como resolver isso? Rodrigo Padula (talk) 23:56, 5 May 2016 (UTC)

  • os fotógrafos autorizam a publicação de suas imagens conforme COM:OTRS ou;
  • cada fotógrafo cria uma conta para publicação de suas imagens.

No OTRS informaram que todas as imagens enviadas pelo usuario criado para o museu na categoria em questao sao de propriedade patrimonial do museu e que publicarão tudo sob licença CC-BY-SA 4. Hi! I'm wondering why you tagged the image with the double headed eagle I added as copyright violating? This is from a 1875 book. I just changed the sepia background to a white one. Query regarding the nomination page

Hey i had shared few of my pictures on wikipedia commons as a part of contest wiki loves earth india. It has been come to my notice that these pages have been nominated for deletion since i had shared from my Facebook. But since all images are my own art and i just used these images from facebook so i dont think there is a problem in publishing it. So i would appreciate your views with this regard. I'm puzzled, because in each one of these files, it is clearly stated the author and source. In the first four images is:

Capitanias

Tudo bem Rodrigo ? Pelo seu nome estou tomando a liberdade de escrever em portugues: vc deletou um arquivo sobre Capitanias Hereditárias hoje, sendo que o autor (Jorge Pimentel Cintra) foi o autor original do arquivo. Não apenas isto, mas como uma imagem acadêmica de um artigo citado no texto, ela está em licença aberta (desde que citado o autor original) pelo que acredito que houve uma certa pressa e engano ao apagar o arquivo. Olá @Ozymandias: na realidade eu não deletei o arquivo, eu apenas apontei que o mesmo já fora publicado anteriormente em outros sites da web, o que foi confirmado por um administrador, este sim, responsável pela eliminação. Como você disse que o Jorge Pimentel é o autor original do arquivo veja Commons:OTRS#Licensing images: when do I contact OTRS? para saber como proceder. Need clarification on deletion of my images

@ :@Rodrigolopes: , despite my clarification via email and here on the talk my images which had been posted for the purpose of wiki loves earth india contest has been taken down. Please restore my photographs. These pictures have been clicked by me and have also been uploaded to my facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/piconnie.inc/
