Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content).

You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki.

Getting help

More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump.

Goodies, tips, and tricks
  • Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
  • You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.
  • Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~.
  • To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
  • You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.
  • There are several tools to upload files.

Robert Genin - Arbeitende Frauen.jpg[edit]

Werter Herr Rodionofff, könnten Sie etwas ausführlicher erläutern, wie Sie auf das Datum „ca. 1912“ gekommen sind? Auf dem Bild kann man relativ deutlich (19)33 vor Genins Signatur erkennen. Danke! --Ras67 (talk) 11:59, 19 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Die Datierung auf dem Bild "Arbeitende Frauen" ist mit fremder Hand gesetzt, der Bleistift unterscheidet sich von dem der Signatur. Das kann man auf einem besser aufgelösten Bild deutlich sehen. Ausserdem ist das zweite "3" in "1933" über eine andere Ziffer geschrieben (vermutlich "1"). 1913 könnte also stimmen. Aber das zweite Bild "Arbeitende Männer" war mit einer grossen Wahrscheinlichkeit in der Sonderbundausstellung 1912 in Köln present unter dem Namen "Sackträger". Und das wichtigste: Genin schrieb in seiner Autobiografie, dass er nach dem Ausbruch des I. Weltkriegs aufgehört hat, die nackten idealen Menschen in paradiesischen Landschaften zu malen. Diese Manier ist nur in seinem Werk 1911-1914 zu finden, danach hat er ganz anders gemalt und gezeichnet. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rodionofff (talk • contribs) 12:34, 19 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Danke für die prompte Antwort, ich hab ja schon an Ihrer Arbeit hier bei Wikipedia gesehen, dass sie nicht nur Experte, sondern auch Besitzer eines großen Teils von Genins Arbeiten sind, also genau der richtige Mann! Das Entstehungsdatum war mir nur wichtig, weil leider die Arbeiten nach 1923 theoretisch auf Grund der URAA-Problematik gelöscht werden könnten. Werter Herr Rodionow, da Sie einen Oeuvre-Katalog erstellen, können Sie mit Ihrer Forschung sicher für Klarheit beim Erscheinungsjahr bei einigen Werken sorgen. Eine schwarz/weiße version bei Artnet heißt „Caritas“. Könnten Sie den Text rechts oben im Original und übersetzt aufschreiben?
Aufgrund der Ähnlichkeit zu Robert Genin - Schwester.jpg. Geht es eigentlich um die „echte“ Schwester oder doch eher um eine „Krankenschwester“?

Hat Genin eine besondere Beziehung zu Pferden? Siehe auch Похищенная. Автолитография из папки «Женщина», der Name soll „Entführt“ bedeuten, sieht für mich eher nach „Vergewaltigt“ aus, und was bedeutet das fliehende Pferd?

    • Das ist ein Ausschnitt des verworfenen Gemäldes ca. 1916, ein Hirte mit Schafen (die sind hinter dem Riegel schlecht zu sehen). Er hat einfach die alte Leinwand benutzt.
