First steps tutorial

Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content).

You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki.

Getting help

More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump.

Goodies, tips, and tricks
  • Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
  • You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.
  • Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~.
  • To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
  • You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.
  • There are several tools to upload files.
  • Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful.
Made a mistake?
  • Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it.
  • Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

El aviso de borrado fue porque las imágenes tienen una marca de agua visible, cosa que no se debe hacer, con todos los derechos reservados a nombre de alguien que no coincide con el nombre del usuario subidor ni con la licencia otorgada por este, además de no tener fuente ninguna de ellas. Si dices que son de tu autoría y proceden de tu página en Flickr, deberías haber elegido esa opción (que aparece tanto en el asistente de subidas como en el enlace normal al subirlas, para que se insertara la plantilla correspondiente y cualquier administrador o verificador pudiera comprobar la veracidad de la autoría. Como ves las imágenes tenían graves problemas, si los subsanaste después de mi aviso, en cuanto tenga tiempo las revisaré a ver si son válidas y es posible restaurarlas. Un saludo. Anna, cuando pusiste tu advertencia respondí INMEDIATAMENTE en la página de discusión de CADA FOTO. Allí explicaba que era la autora y proporcionaba el link a la página de Flickr. Incluso modifiqué en cada foto la información, incorporando el enlace de Flickr. Por tanto debo pensar que pusiste la advertencia y luego procediste a borrarlas sin revisar la respuesta.

Por otro lado si el problema era la marca de agua, lo razonable habría sido mencionarlo. En cambio yo recibí objeciones sobre la fuente, y luego de responder encontré que habías bajado todas mis fotos haciendo caso omiso a mis aclaraciones. Puedo subirlas sin esa marca, sin embargo, más allá del símbolo copyrigth en la marca de agua, las fotos están publicadas en Flickr con la licencia correspondiente. En todo caso, la próxima vez preferiría que me objetas el verdadero problema, que no es la violación de derechos de autor, sino la marca de agua (y de paso no me tratas como si fuese una especie de delincuente).

Era la primera vez que subía fotos y estaba conociendo el sistema, puedo cometer errores. En lugar de encontrar cooperación para ayudarme a hacer bien el trabajo, encontré una tremenda hostilidad, incompatible con mi buena intención de cooperar en el proyecto wikipedia, incluso con mi propio material, y con el trabajo que me tomé respondiendo en la página de discusión (como se me sugería en la propia advertencia de cada imagen). Me has desalentado completamente a seguir compartiendo mi material.

Imagino que sabes que casi nadie usa su propio nombre como usuario en wikipedia, de modo que es bastante natural que no coincida con el que viste en la marca de agua. Sería bastante absurdo que plagiara una fotógrafa y no me tomara la molestia de borrar su nombre impreso en cada foto, y hasta te diera los links de su cuenta en Flickr para que pudieras comprobar mi "plagio".

Si no elegí la opción de subir la imagen directamente desde Flickr es porque lo intenté decenas de veces y siempre decía que había "acceso denegado" a la foto. Por lo que no quedaba más alternativa que recurrir a subir la foto desde mi propio ordenador. Además, era correcto que eran mi propio trabajo, de modo que no veo el problema de hacerlo así (mucho menos con todas las aclaraciones que hice al ver las advertencias).

Hola Sol, entiendo tu enfado pero no lo tomes como algo personal, es el procedimiento habitual cuando se detectan problemas como los que tenían tus fotos. Aunque no lo creas, hay gente que sube imágenes con copyright desde cualquier fuente, incluso desde Flickr y se las atribuye, porque piensa que por el solo hecho de descargarlas en su ordenador ya son suyas. Yo marqué esas fotos, sí, pero fue otro administrador quien las borró, posiblemente solo se fijara en el aviso de borrado sin más. Ahora tras revisarlas veo que, efectivamente, habías añadido la fuente en cada una. Como aquí todo tiene arreglo, puedo restaurarlas, sin embargo el problema de la marca de agua seguirá ahí, así que si las restauro tendré que marcarlas con la plantilla correspondiente, como puedes ver en File:Mariposa posada.JPG, con lo cual deberás subir otra versión sin marca en algún momento. Te sugiero que las vuelvas a subir si dispones, como dices, de una copia sin marcar, y antes de hacerlo puedes añadir tu copyright en los datos EXIF. Si quieres referenciar la procedencia de tu cuenta en Flickr pon en cada una la url y fuera de la caja de información esta plantilla: {{flickrreview}}. Cuando las tengas todas me avisas y les pongo la marca de revisadas como ves en ese archivo de la mariposa. ¿Te parece bien esta solución? Un saludo. Me refería a colocar la plantilla después de los corchetes, estos: }} que cierran los parámetros de información de la imagen, pero no tiene importancia cuando de el visto bueno a todas ya las moveré si es necesario. La plantilla -que supongo te refieres a la de Flickr- no se quita, debe quedar permanentemente en la página como comprobante de que en la fecha de la revisión tenía la licencia adecuada. Si al solucionar la fuente de las imágenes hubieras retirado el aviso de borrado como dice expresamente la plantilla: Si la página no reúne las condiciones para un borrado rápido, por favor, elimina la plantilla que lo anuncia. estas no hubieran sido borradas. Yo tengo que restaurar imagen por imagen, después editar cada una para darle el visto bueno y como te he dicho, esa versión restaurada no es válida. No he cambiado la propuesta, ni me niego a hacer lo que dije, ni nada parecido. Te propuse volver a subirlas (lee arriba) porque, aunque sean de tu autoría, el problema de la marca de agua con copyright persiste y no son válidas. Lo que tardes en buscarlas en tus discos duros (algo que tendrás que hacer de todos modos, sean subidas de nuevo o sobreescritas), el tiempo que te cueste añadir enlaces, etc, son argumentos baladís porque aquí no hay límite de tiempo, ni nadie te va a meter prisa y ya te he dicho que las consecuencias de tus errores las asumes tú, los demás podemos guiarte para que puedas corregirlos, pero nada más. Y por cierto, lee mejor los avisos; en la plantilla de aviso de borrado, esta: {{Copyvio}} la frase que te he señalado está justamente debajo de la sugerencia de argumentar en la discusión y la parte destinada a los administradores está claramente diferenciada con la palabra administradores en azul fuerte.
