Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content).

You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki.

Getting help

More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump.

Goodies, tips, and tricks
  • Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
  • You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.
  • Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~.
  • To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
  • You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.
  • There are several tools to upload files.
  • Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful.
Made a mistake?

Vägetjärnen

Det er generelt bedre at kommunikere her end over email. Angående Category:Vägetjärnen, så jeg godt at OSMs kommunegrænse er på den forkerte side af søen, men jeg tænker at det kan være en fejl på OSM. Ifølge "Lantmäteriet topografisk kort" hedder den sø jeg lagde koordinaterne i "Vägetjärnen" og det er da også den wikidata:Q18194732 peger på, så jeg tænker at jeg har gjort det rigtigt. OK, då kommunicerar vi här. Ja, Wikidata pekar på korrekt sjö. Ja, den karta som visas på https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q18194732 är korrekt.
Men nej, de koordinater som uppvisas på sidan för de fyra individuella bilderna (t.ex. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Vaegetjaernen_Vaestra_Goetaland_Sweden_NW_end_direction_SE_March_9_2024.jpg) är inte korrekta. Trycker man på koordinaterna vid "Camera location" så kommer man till fel Vägetjärn. Samma fel återkommer när man trycker på "View this and other nearby images on: OpenStreetMap".
Jag kan garantera dig att det är just den Vägetjärnen som Wikidata visar, som jag besökte igår under min jogging-runda. Jag kan skicka dig en kart-dump från min Garmin Connect-sida, om du vill. R. Henrik Nilsson (talk) 14:57, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Med hensyn til koordinater, angives de nemmest ved hjælp af "Locator-tool", som du kan få frem i sideboksen ved at aktivere "indstillinger->Gadgets->Locator-tool".
