Image Taggings[edit]

Please try to use some common sense when requesting image tagging. The request for the URL is a convenience, requested if available (which it is not always), and is not the most important part of the source (author and licence are). It is nonsensical to tag images which are sourced, are known to be free and were uploaded by users which we know are reliable.

Hi! You said that Image:Chirac_with_Lula.jpg and Image:Urna_eletrônica.jpeg don't have essential source information such as author and source. Have you really looked properly? There is a tag there (in both images!) that says: This photograph was produced by Agência Brasil, a public Brazilian news agency. Their website states: "The content of this website is published under the Creative Commons License Attribution 2.5 Brazil". AND both pictures have the name of the photographer! I'm sorry, but I can't provide a direct link to the images, because they are from 2005, and their website only keeps pictures from 2006 onwards. But they are legitimate and have all other required info, so I don't really think this is a problem... --Ikescs 14:58, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! You said that Image:Les Prèsents Chinois.jpg don't has essential source information such as author and source. There was a the name of the artist noted. He is 100 years dead! Hi, I'm NeVic, i don't speak english very well sorry about this. I speak more well spanish and catalan. My question is, what is the problem with the copyright of my image: File:Aranya fosilitzada a l'ambre.JPG.. This image is a personal photo that i do of one Fossil spider in amber.

Hello, thank you for your spam. Unfortunately, I never upload work that isn't merely an optimisation of already existing images. Save both prior and after as a bitmap, hash them and you will see that they are exactly the same. Perhaps you might want to warn the user that actually uploaded the image before it's due to be deleted? I will not warn you again on further spam. Notice of namespace-rename "Image" -> "File"[edit]

Dear user, the MediaWiki developers recently announced that the "Image:" namespace is going to be renamed to "File:". "Image:" will remain an alias. The canonical namespace name wgCanonicalNamespace will change from "Image" to "File".

I noticed that you use wgCanonicalNamespace in either your monobook.js page or a JavaScript file in your userspace (check this list).

Please check and replace all occurrences of 

wgCanonicalNamespace == "Image"

with 

wgNamespaceNumber == 6
