File:Marsel van Oosten.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added may soon be deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please replace the copyvio tag with {{subst:OP}} and have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you disagree that the file is a copyright violation for any other reason, please replace the copyvio tag with a regular deletion request.

I have been updating the page for Marsel van Oosten today. The pieces of text that have been indicated as copied from other websites, is because Marsel van Oosten himself has provided that text to those websites, for them to use. I know, because I'm the wife of Marsel van Oosten. This is also why I indicated the picture of Marsel that I wanted to add to the Wikipedia page as our own work. Because it is. Please contact me via the website of Marsel van Oosten to verify that I am indeed the wife of Marsel van Oosten and that no copyright infringements of any sort have been made. --PhotoWizard101 (talk) 15:33, 3 December 2020 (UTC)
By the way - I am new to Wikipedia, so I don't know how to ask for to have the removal of the page for Marsel van Oosten stopped. Is it possible for you to reverse the copyright infringement? --PhotoWizard101 (talk) 15:36, 3 December 2020 (UTC)
- Hi Mrs. van Oosten,
- ok, I've changed the problem-tag on the image to something less urgent. You wrote that the photo is "our own work". Well, only one person can click on the camera-shutter. So, I assume that you did it. If yes, then you should first consider which author-credit you would prefer, because that is the right of the photographer. "PhotoWizard101" is not a particularly ingenious name, if I may say so. You may use your real name or whatever you prefer. As the image has been found prepublished, you need to send a confirmation to our support-team (OTRS). Copy the text in the square at Commons:Email_templates#Email_message_template_for_release_of_rights_to_a_file, enter the filename and the chosen license and sign and date it, and send it from your official/business email address to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org (=OTRS). They will then check and "clear" the image. --Túrelio (talk) 16:17, 3 December 2020 (UTC)
Dear Túrelio, thank you for that. I will do so. The reason for the weird username is that in fact the first thing that is said on the Wikipedia page to make an account is to NOT USE YOUR OWN NAME. So I didn't... I will make a new account under the name of Marsel van Oosten. That does not change the fact that the photo is widely available on many website and someone may still consider it copyright infringement because of that. It's an official publicity headshot, so it's actually supposed to be on many websites. But I will send the email now. Thanks for your help in the matter and explaining the procedure. --PhotoWizard101 (talk) 16:23, 3 December 2020 (UTC)
- Ähem, for sending said permission, you do NOT need to create a new account under your realname! The support-team will "treat" you like an external photographer, who also does not need an user-account, if a wikipedian asks for permission to use a photo he/she shot. Anything you send to the support-team, will be treated confidentially by them. --Túrelio (talk) 16:30, 3 December 2020 (UTC)
Permissions-commons@wikimedia.org has confirmed the copyright ownership by me, so all is in order. Thank you for referring me to them. --PhotoWizard101 (talk) 08:36, 4 December 2020 (UTC)
