Herby's bits[edit]

Unless of course you don't want others to see this  :-). Most of this just looks plain good to me. However a couple of areas strike me as worth comment.

In my time as a dedicated en wp contributor (why did I do that?!) I had NO idea Commons existed and uploaded one or two bits to en wp. This leads me to believe that communication with other projects is VITAL. In my early days on Meta an admin created an upload warning message (upload anything there - it gets deleted - you have been warned!) directing folk to en wp - I amended it to Commons but again it suggests a communication issue.

I'll avoid the categories/galleries one! However the "volunteer community" bit caught my eye. Awards - hum. Organised by/judged by - ok "measurable contributions" sounds great but I forsee arguments. I'm not after sinking this but it could be a can of worms. The pathways to trust/admin I like the sound of.

All in all good work and count me in as far as I am able.

Thanks. I wrote this some time ago and I suspect some of my opinions will have changed, so it'll probably go through some more dramatic shifts before I present it to the wider community. pfctdayelise (说什么?) 06:30, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
