Image Rights Inquiry for "Portrait of Johanna Döbereiner"[edit]

Dear Pedro Celso Cruz de Souza,

my name is Katharina Markgraf and I am writing you today from the German publisher’s house TUM.University Press (https://www.ub.tum.de/tumuniversitypress). In our upcoming scientific publication “Alumni of the Technical University of Munich” we discuss the lives and careers of former students of the TUM. Among them is also Johanna Döbereiner. Since each portrait is accompanied by an image, we are also looking for an image of her. We found your illustration here and would very much want to use it in our publication. However, since our book will be print only and not licenced under a CC-licence, I have to ask for your permission to do so. I hereby ask you about the image rights for your illustration of her (https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Johanna_D%C3%B6bereiner_desenho.jpg).

Below please find some data concerning our publication. We are a non-profit-publisher mainly for scientific purposes and therefore cannot afford high fees. But of course we would send a copy of the printed book to you free of charge. Publication data: Title: “Alumni of the Technical University of Munich, vol. 3” (German title: “Alumni der TUM, Band 3”) Print edition: 1000 copies Online edition: tentative Retail price: 29,- € ISBN: 978-3-95584-057-7 Estimated date of publication: Summer 2021

The rights of use to the work of the copyright holder shall be transferred as follows: non-exclusive, unrestricted by time and place. Please let me know if it is possible for us to obtain the image usage rights and how to proceed on this matter. Please do feel free to contact me in case you may have any questions: katharina.markgraf@ub.tum.de or tumuniversitypress@tum.de.

I am looking forward to hearing from you! All the best & please stay safe Katharina Markgraf KM (talk) 07:04, 9 April 2021 (UTC)KM[reply]

— Preceding unsigned comment added by Pedro Celso Cruz de Souza (talk • contribs) 14:29, 24 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Notification about possible deletion[edit]

Some contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.

If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!
