Wikimedia Commons has a specific scope

Please review our project scope, but in short, Commons is targeted at educational media files including photographs, diagrams, animations, music, spoken text and video clips. The expression “educational” is to be understood according to its broad meaning of “providing knowledge; instructional or informative”. Wikimedia Commons does not contain text articles like encyclopedia articles, textbooks, news, word definitions and such. Each of these other kinds of content have their own projects: Wikipedia, Wikibooks, Wikisource, Wikinews, Wiktionary and Wikiquote.

If the content seems to fit the scope of one of those other projects, please consider contributing it there. If you think that the deletion was in error because the contribution really was in scope, you can appeal it at Commons:Undeletion requests, giving a reason why it fits our scope to help others evaluate the matter. Hi. Sorry, I know I can be a bit overzealous when it comes to scope/copyvio issues. First off, I assumed it was out of scope as it looked like it was for promotional purposes. If it's going to be used on Wikipedia, OK, no scope issues anymore (unless the en.wp page gets speedy deleted). However, unless YOU made the image yourself, or you have permission to use the image under a free licence (if this is the case, please see COM:OTRS), then it cannot be uploaded to commons, and instead should be uploaded locally on wikipedia with a fair use rationale. Commons is for images which are free to be used in any manner, and generally logos are not free. -mattbuck (Talk) 22:56, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

Image:Rockwebhosting logo.jpg

Hi, I deleted again this image, as it appears to be a logo: logo are by nature copyrighted objects, and cannot for example be freely modified. Furthermore, the article where it was used on english Wikipedia was deleted.
