Files I intend to nominate for deletion[edit]

I see you have uploaded a number of files to Wikimedia Commons, have claimed them as your own work, have claimed copyright on them and have licensed them under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 4.0 International license.

I have nominated File:Dargie_kirk.jpg for deletion. You claimed copyright on this photograph on 4 March 2021. It is in fact a copy of File:Dargie Church, Invergowrie - geograph.org.uk - 1370957.jpg which is was copyrighted on 25 February 2009 by Geograph user 'Alison'. An admin has redirected your file to Alison's file.

You claimed copyright on File:Mills obs.jpg on 25 February 2021. This file was uploaded to Geograph by another Geograph user, Rude Health, on 9 June, 2013, eight years before your copyright claim. See the https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3507448 webpage. I intend to nominate this file for deletion.

You claimed copyright on the photograph File:The-nine-maidens.jpg on 18 February 2021 when this file is a copy of a file uploaded by a member of the management at the The Nine Maidens public house to Tripadvisor in January 2020, over a year before your copyright claim. See the https://www.tripadvisor.com.sg/ShowUserReviews-g186518-d3538502-r759338720-Nine_Maidens-Dundee_Scotland.html webpage. I intend to nominate this file for deletion.

You claimed copyright on the photograph File:Bronze o the Strathmartine Draigon.jpg on 18 February 2021. The same photograph was posted to a gallery on Imgur on 26 March 2016, by Imagur user EmbarrassingDoughnut, some five years before your copyright claim. See the https://imgur.com/gallery/ymBYo/comment/616647451 webpage. I intend to nominate this file for deletion.

You claimed copyright on File:Strathmartine Stane .jpg on 18 February 2021. This file was used at the http://angusfolklore.blogspot.com/2015/08/ on 22 August 2015, six years before your copyright claim. I intend to nominate this file for deletion.

You claim copyright on File:Balgay bridge.jpg. Dundee City Council use this file at the https://www.dundeecity.gov.uk/service-area/neighbourhood-services/environment/balgay-victoria-and-lochee-parks webpage. The Council claim copyright on the content of their webpages and require anyone wanting to use their content to obtain written permission. See the https://www.dundeecity.gov.uk/service-area/chief-executive/chief-executives-services/terms-and-conditions webpage for the council copyright claim and reproduction conditions. I intend to nominate this file for deletion.

You claimed copyright on File:Paddock Stane.jpg 4 March 2021. This photograph was posted to http://angusfolklore.blogspot.com/2019/03/the-goors-o-gowrie.html by Keith Coleman on 1 January 2021, two months before your copyright claim. It was also used at the https://www.abctales.com/story/angusfolklore/goors-o-gowrie-devils-work-or-ancient-tribal-meeting-place on 1 January 2021. I intend to nominate this file for deletion.

You claimed copyright on File:Balgarthnobalgarthno.jpg on 4 March 2021. Tripadvisor user thetravellingmanUk posted this photograph to https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g186518-d12639917-Reviews-Balgarthno_Stone_Circle_Farm_of_Corn-Dundee_Scotland.html#/media-atf/12639917/266777179:p/?albumid=-160&type=0&category=-160 in July 2017, four years before your copyright claim. Click on the image for the Tripadvisor user details. I intend to nominate this file for deletion.

You claimed copyright on File:Stane map.jpg on 4 March 2021. This appears to be an Ordnance Survey map, dating from before c.1923. (It shows the Caledonian Railway, which became part of the London, Midland and Scottish Railway in 1923). The image might be out of copyright, though that does not entitle you to claim copyright. Given the lack of clarity about this file's source and status I intend to nominate it for deletion. 109.148.60.43 23:42, 30 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

File:The-nine-maidens.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

File copyright status[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikimedia Commons. While everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the project, one or more of your file uploads had missing or false information regarding its source and copyright status. Please note that Wikimedia Commons takes copyright rules and infringement very seriously. Files may only be uploaded and included if their copyright status meets the conditions stated in our licensing policy, and if their provenance is clearly documented. Files that fail to meet those conditions may be deleted, and users who fail to meet them may be blocked. Please follow our first steps, if you haven't already. If you have questions, feel free to ask at the Village Pump copyright question page or on my talk page. Thank you.   — Jeff G. please ping or talk to me 12:10, 1 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
