Oolite
[edit]Hello, this game is under (http://oolite.aegidian.org/) Creative Commons (cc-by-nc-sa, http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/2.0/). This license is not allowed into Commons because there are restricted commercial use. Without agrement of the author of this game we cant change the license of this screenshot. That why this screenshot will be deleted. ~ bayo or talk 01:42, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
- I understand, but the deed Creative Commons 2.0 is clearly restricted to be.. noncommercial..? So does this mean it is impossible to supply this article with images? If there's a way, I should think the author would allow it. olofito 09:52, 19 December 2005 (UTC)
- yes, I've looked it up more thoroughly now, and see what you mean. silly me thought it was one of the 'nice' licences. olofito 10:40, 19 December 2005 (UTC)
- All Creative Commons 2.0 are not noncommercial, but oolite use specificaly a noncommercial one (we see it on his homepage). Maybe you can upload this image into Wikipedia without changing the license cc-by-nc-sa, but i dont know exactelly that license is allow on Wikipedia english. Another thing should be to send a request to the author, and if he can change the license for this screenshot to another one without commercial restriction. ~ bayo or talk 22:08, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

- I'm still confused of what is the most correct thing to do. The author Giles Williams told me that ".. images produced by Oolite should be copyright you, to do with as you will." So where does that leave me? I change the license description? Claim personal copyright? I also had wanted to put in the little Oolite logo, but is that also restricted? Of course there is probably some difference between Wikipedia and Commons, which is what you're probably most concerned about..
- Sorry to be an ignorant first-timer. olofito 08:29, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

- ".. images produced by Oolite should be copyright you, to do with as you will." ; my bad english dont understand a lot of this, if he say that you are the copyright holder because you create the screenshot, that's wrong. But in the same time he dont say that he dont want to use his commercial restriction into this screenshot.
- "put in the little Oolite logo" Generaly logo are copyrighted
- "Sorry to be ..." No problem, you'r not the first, you'r not the last :D
- Maybe u will send a request to the Commons:Village pump, because its hard to me to understand all you say. sorry :/ ~ bayo or talk 13:09, 21 December 2005 (UTC)
Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Olofito. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Olofito~commonswiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
