Thanks for uploading File:BharatJodo RouteMap.png. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Request[edit]

Hello @Ok123l Sir/Madam, I really like the map you made on the en:2009 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election. Can you please make one for en:2004 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election or at-least can you tell me how to do it so that I can make it previous election years. Thank you 456legend (talk) 09:53, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello 456legend, thank you for your appreciation of my map! Unfortunately, some constituencies that were in the 2004 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election were abolished by the 2009 election (e.g. Vepanjeri Assembly constituency). However, I found an ECI map for the 2004 Andhra Pradesh election, which I will upload soon, I will try to edit that map to show previous elections. If you want though, you can match the constituency on the map to the by-constituency results on an election page (make sure no constituencies have been abolished/created since the last election first, or the map would be inaccurate) and then color with paint bucket to the results of the specified year. I recommend using Paint.NET which is free and simple to use. Thanks again for the appreciation! Ok123l (talk) 10:12, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the response. 456legend (talk) 10:15, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
here: File:2004 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election.jpg. be sure to credit ECI and mention that it is a modification of that image if you're uploading anything. Ok123l (talk) 10:19, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Okay sure. Thank you. 456legend (talk) 10:39, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
hello @Ok123l, I hope you are doing fine. I have done modifications to the map that you have uploaded. I tried enhancing the borders better (redrawing minor lines) so there be small mistakes but I think that they are not much material.
I just wanted to make sure that whether am I supposed to credit you too along with Election commisssion before the I upload the map.
Also special thanks to you for suggesting me to use Paint.Net, that really made my work easier. 456legend (talk) 06:03, 23 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
also I forgot to mention that another user published this 2 months back on my request, so I think we can also use this. File:2004 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly constituencies template.svg. 456legend (talk) 07:47, 23 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hello there! It's an ECI-created map (I only uploaded it, it's not mine) so you only need to credit ECI. Also File:2004 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly constituencies template.svg seems more easier to modify, if you already did it on the ECI map however its okay. If you want to make other elections maps of the state with File:2004 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly constituencies template.svg , I would recommend you trace the map on another layer and then delete the original map then make color modifications to the traced map. Also remember to disable antialising before doing that. Ok123l (talk) 15:27, 23 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
