Would like to use your photo of Roger Williams in my book[edit]

Hi Bill:

My name is Marybeth Reilly-McGreen and I am working on a book called Revolutionaries, Rebels and Rogues of Rhode Island. I would like to include in it your wonderful picture of Roger Williams' statue. I'd be happy to send you a copy of the book once it comes out and would certainly credit the picture to you.

Would you grant me permission to do that?

Thank you.

Marybeth

Sounds great- best of luck on your book. You are not required to send me a copy, but I would be happy to receive one. This is my address:

Using your GreatWall Of China pictures[edit]

Is it ok if I use your pictures for a school project?— Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.59.207.41 (talk • contribs) 06:49, 27 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Re:edit[edit]

Simply, the "substantial amount of information" which I removed is already present in the description of the file or in the description of the source file. I just ordered the file description. However, if is appropriate, you undo my edit. Bye. Angelus (talk) 03:36, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Image of Cornell Bailey Hall[edit]

I wanted to let you know that I am using your image of Cornell's Bailey Hall. I work for a construction company that worked on the renovation of the building, and we are using Bailey Hall as a example of projects we have completed in some marketing material I am preparing. The only image that we have is quite overexposed, and your image is much more detailed. I will be using it in a Statement of Qualification and will credit you.

Please let me know if you have any further questions. I can be reached at melise.gerber (at) lendlease (dot) com.

Your Boardwalk Photo[edit]

Hi, Bill. I am reviewing all the commons photos on our site and making sure the credits are done to the letter, as specified by attribution requirements. I had not previously noticed your request that you be contacted as well as credited.

I used it in a mashup with one of my own photos, to illustrate a spoof article about a fake Hamptons billionaire proposing the historic Sag Harbor waterfront be made into a Jersey Shore-like boardwalk. (This is spoofing a legitimate article about them proposing a very modest boardwalk there)

Here's the link: http://danspapers.com/2013/12/derwood-hodgegrass-offers-to-fund-sag-harbor-boardwalk-and-attractions/

I hope you enjoy it. I got a lot of laughs from the image.

Thanks for posting it in the commons.

Use of Image[edit]

Hi,

I'm writing to ask permission to use the image of The boardwalk of Ocean City, Maryland I came across in Wikimedia Commons on the cover of a catalog I'm putting together form my employer. The image, or some part of it, will be used as part of a collage of images and will not appear larger than 2.5 inches square (probably smaller). At this size, among a dozen or more other images of Maryland, my employer prefers not to give attribution (since it would further clutter the page of images). The catalog will be going out to state agencies in Maryland, the publication run will be a few hundred, and the life of the document is less than six months.

There is no compensation offered, if you prefer we not use the image I will honor that.

Use of image for scholarly article in non-profit journal[edit]

Dear Mr. Bill Price III, I am seeking permission to use your photo of the University of Pittsburgh's Cathedral of Learning in a potential article for ARRIS, a non-profit architectural history journal. If the article is accepted by the journal to publish. At this point, I am only in the manuscript and review phase. My email is mary.springer@doane.edu (personal email), but I am happy to give you my current university email upon contact. I look forward to hearing from you. Use of image in academic article - Arris, 2020[edit]

Dear Bill, I wanted to let you know that I will be using your image of the Cathedral of Learning (taken 2009) in an academic article about the Cathedral of Learning. The photo and article will be part of Arris, vol. 31 (2020). Arris is the journal for the Southeast Chapter of the Society of Architectural Historians. The article title is "A 'Psalm' for Pittsburgh: How Town and Gown Built the Cathedral of Learning." It will be "Figure 1" of the article. I've credited you in the caption. The image will be printed in grayscale, but it will still look wonderful! Best, Mary Springer

Contact me if you have any questions - mspringer@jsu.edu. Have a wonderful week!

Uris Hall Cornell photo[edit]

I plan to use your photo to illustrate an April 2021 online seminar of the North American Steel Conference to illustrate an application of exposed 'weathering steel.' I will discuss 'lessons learned' from the building, such as requiring initial sandblasting to remove handling marks and 'weather in' evenly (ironworker gloves do get greasy), and then waiting years, not months, for the rust-resistant patina to develop in Ithaca's bucolic clean air, and requiring frequent window cleaning during that process to avoid permanent staining of the huge plate glass windows. I will also mention having been impressed with the structural system as I watched it being erected when I was an engineering student on campus (my own b&w half-frame photos of that work are long lost). Time flies!

If you have any issue with this use of your image, please email me at ljoseph@thorntontomasetti.com — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.4.217.130 (talk) 00:57, 22 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
