Location?[edit]

Hi Noah - thanks for adding your photo File:Bird Standing on Brick Wall.jpg to Commons! It would be nice if you could add some details about where you took it, please; it helps with identification and adding the most fitting categories, and makes it a lot more valuable to other users. Thanks! - MPF (talk) 14:42, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello MPF, I have now added that the photo was taken in Las Vegas, Nevada. Noah Wulf (talk) 20:07, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Excellent, thanks! - MPF (talk) 23:51, 7 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
File:"I fell in Love in Las Vegas".jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

LexieBee Photography[edit]

Hey, the metadata of your files says 'LexieBee Photography' is the author. Do you have any explanations for them? --Mhhossein talk 06:40, 6 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The camera used to belong to my sister before she gave it to me. She inputed that information into the Canon EOS Rebel T3. I have'nt been able to fix it unfortunately. Noah Wulf (talk) 09:18, 6 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Over-categorization[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikimedia Commons! Thank you for you contributions. When you add categories generally just use the most specific category. For example, File:DiamondBack Taxiis Past Crowd (2) - Aviation Nation 2019.jpg is already categorized below Category:North American P-51D/K Mustang via the Category:North American P-51D Mustang warbirds by registration on Category:N51ZM (aircraft). Thank you for your contributions. Your image or other content, File:2020-2021-school-calendar-students.pdf, was recently deleted, or will soon be deleted, in accordance with our process and policies, because it was not, or is not, within our scope. 'Delisting' of derivative works[edit]

Hi Noah, I saw that you removed your "uploaded" category from the pics I cropped with the Barrett .50 soldier in Kuwait today. As you thanked me for another one, I assume you did not dislike the other works of mine in total... I saw some other editors in your situation create a "Derivative works of images uploaded by xxx" or the like. This would be an option for you to also keep the derivative works somehow under control/in sight. Just an idea, Best, Pittigrilli (talk) 19:56, 26 April 2023 (UTC) -- BTW: de:Barrett M82 - one is already in use. Pittigrilli (talk) 21:38, 26 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I did not dislike the crops. I actually really liked them because it better displays the subject without the negative space. It just kind of felt like the "Uploaded by" category was giving me credit for your work. I will consider creating the derivative works category. Thank you, Noah Wulf (talk) 00:08, 27 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
BTW: I made such a huge amount of crops, I am far beyond the feeling of "this is mine" or the likes ;-) Pittigrilli (talk) 09:13, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Category for "weapons training"?[edit]

Hi Noah, when doing this crop: File:201012-F-HV022-1047 - JSSD-K range day builds relationships, promotes readinessSpecial Operations Command Central (Image 3 of 10) (cropped).jpg I realized that the image would need a category like "Soldiers with weapons instructors" or "Soldiers being instructed in weapon use" or whatever. I searched some time but found nothing. Instead, we have loads of pics with names including "weapons training" etc. which show very similar situations to the above. Did I miss something, or is there no such category tree? Pittigrilli (talk) 10:37, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
