Map update

Hi, not sure how it works with the OS Open Data but would it be possible for you to update the File:Aberdeen UK location map.svg and File:Edinburgh UK location map.svg maps with the new major roads (and Borders railway)? Namely the AWPR and Queensferry Crossing. Thanks Boothy m (talk) 23:06, 4 June 2020 (UTC)

Election ward maps

Hey, could you possibly tell me what software you utilise, and how you use said software, in order to create your blank ward maps for UK local councils. Thanks, SmartyPants22 (talk) 22:19, 3 July 2020 (UTC)

LR

Added a LR tag to File:England relief location map.jpg, if you are about maybe you could think about it. The most likely OS source is now released as OGL and one of the PD-USGov licenses would apply to the other data source. Consequently the CC license displayed is not technically verifiable, probably. -- (talk) 12:48, 1 October 2020 (UTC)

@: CC is correct and OGL incorrect. The creative input by myself is well above the TOO and that isn't government work my input cannot be under OGL. eg the choice of colours and precise method of relief shading are entirely me. The current versions of OGL explicitly state it is compatible with CC-BY. That means both CC-BY-SA and GFDL are ok as they preserve attribution requirement. CC-BY is not OK (as I do not want to release my work under those terms).
The licensing on my maps should be standardised to be similar to File:Berkshire UK parish map (blank).svg, as that incorporates the relevant OS attribution.
I've not been able to get myself back into wiki-activity, but want to clear up loose ends like this. I might return at some point in future.--Nilfanion (talk) 07:58, 10 October 2020 (UTC)
It can be nice to have a few non-urgent projects to chip away at and that don't need constant attention. Growing chilies this year has felt a more important achievement than upload projects, down to earth hobbies helps keep perspective.
Hope you are keeping well. Thanks -- (talk) 09:03, 10 October 2020 (UTC)

Using ward maps

Hi! I'm currently working through making articles for Cornish council wards on en.wiki and I've started doing ward-specific maps from your electoral division map (See here). I'm still pretty new to editing .svg files and I'm having a problem with the wards in the larger towns because they become pretty much invisible when viewed at infobox size. Is there a simple(-ish) way to zoom in on those wards? This is pretty non-urgent, so there's no need to reply in any rush. Thanks, Gazamp (talk) 19:37, 4 February 2021 (UTC)

Northants map update

Your map File:Northamptonshire UK location map.svg needs to be updated to reflect the recent creation of of en:West Northamptonshire and en:North Northamptonshire. G-13114 (talk) 20:59, 1 April 2021 (UTC)

"Meridian 2"

Hi Nilfanion! I really like your maps, but while looking at Greater London UK location map 2.svg I noticed you attributed some of the data to "Meridian 2". I tried finding what Meridian 2 but I can't find anything. Is this some private dataset or so? — Berrely • TC 17:08, 14 June 2021 (UTC)

Locations on maps (UK)

When a page hosts a map, e.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jervaulx_Abbey, a useful map of Yorkshire appear with the position of the site marked. When I click on the map, it is enlarged, but the position of the site disappears. This seems to be standard policy of Wikipedia (or is it Firefox?).

A useful feature of the page is being lost. Is there any way to retain the site position maker, rather like Google maps? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cvhorie (talk • contribs) 06:54, 27 September 2021 (UTC)
