Please give images good descriptions[edit]
I noticed you've uploaded one or more images and I thought I should turn your attention to a common error.
Please give some thought to writing a good description of uploaded images. This ensures that they can be used. It also helps those that review and improve categories do a better job, which also ensures that images will get used in novel and interesting ways. There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful informations about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

Luokittelusta[edit]
Hei! Huomaathan, että kaikkien suomalaisten kuntien "Buildings in X" luokat on ollut tapana luokitella luokan Category:Buildings in Finland by city alle, olivatpa ne kaupunkeja tai eivät. Kaupungeilla ja kunnillahan ei (enää) ole mitään hallinnollista eroa: ero on vain nimessä. Siksi ei-kaupunkien jättäminen pois kansainvälisestä by city -luokittelusta olisi enemmän tai vähemmän mielivaltaista. Lisäksi kunta lienee kuitenkin lähin hallinnollinen vastine englanninkielen "city"-sanalle. Paikallishallintohan on eri maissa järjestetty eri tavalla, ja jos oikein puhdasoppisia oltaisiin, pitäisi joka maassa käyttää ko. maan termiä. Tämä olisi kuitenkin hyvin sekavaa, ja siksi on minusta parasta tehdä kompromissi tässä asiassa. Tämä koskee oikeastaan kaikkia by city -luokkia.
Lisäksi viitaten tähän muokkaukseesi, lentoasemat ja -kentät eivät ole rakennuksia siinä mielessä kuin englannin kielen sana "building" tarkoittaa ja siksi niitä ei tulisi luokitella Building-luokkien alle. Lentoasemilla yleensä toki on rakennuksia (terminaalit, lentokonehallit jne.) ja nämä rakennukset luokitellaan sitten Building-luokkien (esim. But the source does not say where the photograph was taken. If you can verify that it is a church in England, please say which one and categorise it more precisely. - Hi. The image seems to be used in the articles en:Church of St Peter, Englishcombe and en:Englishcombe, so I believe it is safe to assume the picture is from there. I fixed the category.Niera (talk)

Voitko kertoa, mikä tarkoitus on esimerkiksi luokalla Category:Churches in Ilomantsi photographed in 2019? Puhutaan pienestä kunnasta, josta on ylipäätään Commonsissa vähän kuvia. ––14:59, 26 September 2019 (UTC)
- Joo, mietin itsekin että onko esimerkiksi juuri Ilomantsin kohdalla tarpeen tehdä tuota kategoriaa erikseen. Alkujaan loin noita kuntakohtaisia kategorioita siksi, että niin "Churches in Finland photographed in year x" kuin myös kuntien omat vuosikategoriat olivat kasvaneet varsin suuriksi, monet jopa usean sivun mittaisiksi, ja mielestäni oli järkevää jakaa niitä ainakin suurempien kaupunkien osalta omiin luokkiinsa. Ilomantsin kohdalla oli yksittäisten vuosien kohdalla useampia kuvia, joten päätin luoda sillekin ainakin muutaman luokan. Tarkoitukseni ei ole toki tehdä vastaavia luokkia jokaiselle kunnalle, vaan ainoastaan niihin joiden kirkoista on erityisen paljon kuvia.Niera (talk) 17:14, 26 September 2019 (UTC)
Thank you for the work on this category! There's a lot of demand for photos of Finnish libraries since Oodi was declared the best library in the world. I've had directors of some provincial library system in Italy ask for photos. ;-) It's good to have them organised (I especially like the photos with people, showing how the libraries are used, but that's a bit tricky if one wants to avoid invading people's privacy). Please do not add false data, incorrect categories![edit]
Please remove false categories which you have added! Do not invent information, which is not correct. If a photo is stored to Commons on Sept. 8., 2020, and has "Category:August 2020 in Finland" why on earth do you add fully faulty information that it was photographed on August 8th, 2020?? Btw, it was NOT photographed on Sept. 8. 2020. Kindly correct all FALSE, ASSUMED data which you have added e.g. about files like File:Artjärven kirkko (1840) - Kirkkotie 23, Artjärvi - Orimattila - 3.jpg, and many others with false additions. - Thank you for the correction, please forgive my mistake. The date on the file info is supposed to be the day of photography, not the day of uploading or editing. Thus I falsely assumed that it's also the case here, but I should have been more careful. Once more thank you for pointing that out. - By the way, so that there's no misunderstanding: I didn't put the "Sept. 8. 2020" in the summary (yhteenveto) under the image or the exif data, it was already there since the original upload. Kainuun uudesta hienosta keskussairalasta ei ole täällä valokuvia. Jo puretusta keskussairaalasta kyllä löytyy. Yhden löysin ja se oli kuvaamasi kuva sairaalan kappelista. Voisitko käydä kuvaamassa sairaalaa ulkoa, niin saadaan uudet kuvat myös tuonne Wikipedian artikkeliin "Kainuun keskussairaala"? Kiitos! MailariX (talk) 14:36, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
