Nichalp, congratulations! You now have the rights of administrator on Commons. Please take a moment to read the Commons:Administrators page and watchlist related pages (in particular Commons:Administrators' noticeboard and Commons:Deletion requests), before launching yourself into page deletions, page protections, account blockings or modifications of protected pages. The majority of the actions of administrators can be reversed by the other admins, except for history merges which must thus be treated with particular care.

Please feel free to join us on IRC: #wikimedia-commons @ irc.freenode.net. Also consider joining #wikimedia-admin, the cross-wiki coordination channel for Wikimedia administrators. Any member of the channel can invite you in temporarily, but you need an invite exemption from a channel operator to get in whenever you want. Please come to #wikimedia and ask for an invite. Any admin from any project is welcome.

You may find Commons:Guide to adminship to be useful reading.

Please also check or add your entry to the List of administrators and the related lists by language and date it references....
Welcome back. Things have changed a bit, take some time to get your bearings. But they haven't changed at all in some ways, we still try to be mellow and helpful... ask for help if you need it! Every best wish ++Lar: t/c 19:50, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

Could you see Image talk:Nepal COA.png and let me know your thoughts? Nichalp (talk) 07:36, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

Hello!

You right! This isn't symbol of NSDAP. But is very very resemblance. In many coutries who use swastika otherwise than education perpetrate a crime! France, Poland, Germany... Crime! We must add {{nazi symbol}} in every site with swastika. A thousand GENERATIONS will pass and still this guilt of swastika will not have been erased. --Starscream (talk) 15:49, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

The swastika is not illicit in flimsy countries. Is forbidden in countries, where is found most of all users of the Internet. In my country every swastika is illicit without exceptions. This was the ancient symbol. I underline: This WAS the ancient symbol. Now it is a symbol of only most disgusting from the ideology and nobody more. The {{nazi symbol}} must be, so that somebody do not expose himself on legal troubles. Hindus are out of luck. Nothing himself bad will not stand if this pattern will stay. And surely somebody it will protect before troubles. In the text is written: This image shows (or resembles)... --Starscream (talk) 18:46, 26 August 2008 (UTC)
Most of all netizens originates from the Western circle cultural. I do not know every law from these states. But is the risk that for courts or common men will not be the difference between the bazi swastika, and a not nazi swastika. Adding {{nazi symbol}} protects very much many men {people} before troubles. Let us not expose the human life because of the avoidance of inconvenience. The legwork is by swastikaed to threaten with the mob law. --Starscream (talk) 16:21, 28 August 2008 (UTC)

swasti

Do not push around me. Descend on the ground. The use of every swastika. Every swastika causes serious consequences in many countries. Do not expose people because of the idealism. Asiatics have here nothing to the point. I speak about states from where originate the considerable percentage of users of the internet. Not I fixed these laws. Add to {{nazi symbol}} that theoretically the judge can treat softly hindu. Maybe. The swastika is always a swastika. And always her usage is a danger in countries, where lives the considerable percentage of netizens. If will not be nazi the symbol, many persons will be found in prisons. Or it will become {will stand} sacrifices of mob laws. Nothing you this does not interest? --Starscream (talk) 16:23, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

Article 256 of Polish Penal Code

"One who openly propagates fascist or other totalitarian political system or exhortsincites to hate based on nationality, ethnic background, race, belief or because of lack of belief, is to be fined, restrained or imprisoned up to 2 years." - more or less, I'm not a law terminology expert :) Hope this helps. --Leafnode 14:43, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

I've fixed one word - couldn't come up with that earlier :) And no problem - I (and many people on pl.wiki) think, that Starscream is overreacting and aggressively enforcing his point of view. In Poland, it's not prohibited to use swastika in any form, even Nazi swastika, as long as it's not related to propagating fascist regime. From time to time there is some uproar that Germans are ordering Iron Cross copies in Polish factories, or that you can buy old Nazi dagger on a flea market - but without any legal repercussions. --Leafnode 15:54, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

Hello Nichalp,
I read that with your script the "commons password is visible on the monitor when asked to enter it". You might want to use the following lines to hide passwords (not sure whether it's intended):

use Term::ReadKey;

ReadMode('noecho');# (ReadMode 2, 'raw')
print "Password (will be hidden):";
$password = ReadLine(0);
chomp($password);
ReadMode('normal');# (ReadMode 0)

Furthermore, you maybe could use (optionally?) on top:

use HTTP::Request::Common;
$HTTP::Request::Common::DYNAMIC_FILE_UPLOAD = 1;

... this would (maybe optionally) cause Perl to not load big/huge images/files into memory first, but will read the file directly from the disk while uploading [for low RAM systems].

Best regards, Melancholie (talk) 09:54, 29 September 2008 (UTC)

Me again ;-) Note that wpLoginAttempt has been changed to wpLoginattempt. Furthermore you might have to add wpSkipCookieCheck=>"1" for login. --- Best regards, Melancholie (talk) 02:30, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
Done :-) But I am wondering why wpLoginAttempt seems to has worked for other people except me (in HTML source code its with a lowercase "a"). --- Best regards, Melancholie (talk) 01:50, 28 November 2008 (UTC)
Hello Nichalp, sorry for forgetting to declare $secure with "my" (didn't know that script execution is aborted because of such minor things when using strict declaration). I normally do not use strict (don't like script aborts because of bagatelles ;-). But thus I added the bold notice on top to maybe use a "prior version", as I wasn't able to properly check the script fully (because of missing exif/csv module for example). The lines are for defining variables that are checked to do the recently added things optionally, see User:Nichalp/Upload_script#Executing_the_script (#8). I do not get any error message. What does it tell you? Is the script execution aborted? --- Best regards, and sorry; Melancholie (talk) 09:29, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
P.s.: Did you get "... uninitialized ..." warnings? Shouldn't be shown anymore now. I normally ignore those "perl -[wW]" warnings too (as they don't harm). --- Best regards, Melancholie (talk) 10:10, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

MNS flag.

Hi Nichalp - Just saw your note about the MNS flag. Actually, the flag I have made is based on the flags posted by MNS workers in front of my apartment in Pune. Not sure if MNS has any defined code for flag with different ratios of colour bands. But, I will try to modify flag 2:3 ratio. BTW, I rarely use this website and visit here only when I have to upload some new image. You can drop a message on my wikipedia talkpage and I would respond quicker. --Gppande (talk) 08:25, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

Ok, I will modify flag 2:3 ratio. --Gppande (talk) 20:23, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
