You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

Please give images better names

I noticed you've uploaded File:Ráno na moři.jpg and I thought I should draw your attention to a common error. Please give uploaded files meaningful names. Otherwise they are difficult to track and it is hard to tell what the file is about without actually looking at it. I suggest you rename your image with an intuitive name that describes the file itself. Thanks, and happy editing!

Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Dziękuję za informację. Niepotrzebnie użyłem konkursowego formularza do ładowania zdjęć, zamiast regularnego. Zrobione - szblon konkursowy zdjęty, pozostał tylko w trzech pracach. Ślę pozdrowienia w imieniu zespołu Wikimedia Polska. --WTM (talk) 11:10, 10 November 2021 (UTC)

Beech photo

Hello, I’d like to ask why did you move this file to last year's photo contest category. The photo was taken and uploaded in 2021 and it was my favourite photo taking part in that contest… thank you for your answer, ----Nefronus 19:06, 17 November 2021 (UTC)

Hello, from what I checked there were 4 photos uploaded for the Czech Wiki Photo and the limit was 3. We came across some users, who didn't follow the contest rules and unfortunately we had to delete those, which were added as the last one(s). Thank you for your understanding. Category:Měsíc lidských práv na Wikipedii 2022

Ahoj, smím se zeptat, proč je kategorie Měsíc lidských práv na Wikipedii 2022 zřízena jako skrytá?

V té souvislosti upozorňuju, že její nadřazená kategorie bez určení ročníku je zařazená do kategorie Logos of Wikimedia Czech Republic's projects, jako kdyby sem patřila jenom loga, přitom název kategorie spíš odpovídá akcím a událostem, čili by to mělo asi spíš patřit pod kategorii Wikimedia Czech Republic events, případně taky pod Wikimedia events in the Czech Republic. Ale nevím, třeba je s tím záměr jiný.

Pro mě je jen obtížné zorientovat se a najít, kam bych měl zařadit fotky z editatonu, jestli k Měsíci lidských práv patří, nebo nepatří. Bazi (talk) 21:26, 25 June 2022 (UTC)

Ahoj Bazi, kategorie je vytvořena pro fotky nahrané při editatonu a plní ji šablona {{Měsíc lidských práv na Wikipedii 2022}}. Pod logy být nemá, překategorizoval jsem dle tvého návrhu. janbery (talk) 18:43, 28 June 2022 (UTC)

@Janbery Aha, díky za objasnění i překategorizaci. U některých akcí v minulosti, které sloužily k pořizování obrázků, jsme ještě rozlišovali fotodokumentaci samotného průběhu akce od těch souborů, které se pořídily a nahrály v rámci akce (ovšem nedokumentovaly ji). Viz např. Wikivýstaviště a Pictures taken during Wikivýstaviště‎. Nebo u expedic se fotodokumentace v podstatě nepřímo vyčleňovala do kategorií typu Wikiexpedice Jih participants.

Tady ta šablona, jestli správně chápu z toho popisu, má sloužit k označení obrázků týkajících se tématu akce, čili lidských práv, které se nahrají během akce. Při takovém označení šablonou pak asi dává smysl, že je kategorie skrytá, protože pro takto označené obrázky není důležitá a slouží spíš jenom pro interní potřebu. Naopak v případě fotodokumentace akce nebo grafiky k akci to skrytí není užitečné, ty soubory se naopak přímo týkají oné akce (možná i to je další argument k rozdělení těchto dvou skupin nahrávaných souborů).
