Thanks for uploading File:Alpha Kappa Omicron Crest.JPG. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Alpha Kappa Omicron Crest.JPG]]) and the above demanded information in your request.

Hi Naiele3. Just want to point out that although Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons belong to the same foundation, they operate under slightly different policies and guideline. Commons only accepts freely licensed content or content that is in the public domain. With personal photos and the like, often taking the word of the uploader and checking the Exif data is sufficient. For anything that looks like it's been downloaded from the Internet, however, something more is needed. This logo looks like is comes from the sorority's offcial website so it's copyright status needs to be verified. If you are the original copyright holder then all you need to do is follow the steps in COM:OTRS#Licensing images: when do I contact OTRS?. If, on the other hand, you are not the original copyright holder, then please follow the instructions in COM:OTRS#If you are not the copyright holder. Please understand that Commons needs to receive a explicit written declaration of consent from the copyright holder for verification purposes. It's sufficient for someone to simply post that they have been given the OK to use the image by the copyright holder. Please also understand that a free license means that the copyright holder is agreeing to let others use the logo for any purpose (including commercial) and there is basically nothing that the copyright holder can really do to stop. Since most organizations are reluctant to relinquish control over the intellectual property to such a degree, many do not freely license their logos, etc. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them here, at COM:VP/C or at COM:OTRSN. -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:02, 19 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Hello! i got an email from wikipedia asking me to send in consent. I emailed that already (a while ago). They said that the email not be reviewed in a timely manner due to the high volume of people submitting permission for images. Not sure if that is what you mean? Naiele3 (talk) 21:45, 2 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
If you still have your the email you recieved, then there should be some kind of reference number (OTRS number) in it. This is like the file number and can be used by OTRS volunteers to check the system for your email. Even though the files has been deleted, it's still technically there. It's just tht only those with special access like administrators and OTRS volunteers can see it. I am not either one, so I cannot undelete the file. You can ask for help at COM:OTRSN. Just post that you've received an email from OTRS and that you have an OTRS number. One of the volunteers will then try and find the email. It may take some time due to the backlog, but while you are waiting you can ask them to "undelete" the file and add Template:OTRS pending to it. This will allow the oil to be used while it's licensing is being verified. -- Marchjuly (talk) 23:40, 2 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
This is all i received. i don't think i got the OTRS number, just a ticket number.

permissions-commons@wikimedia.org 4/17/2016 You Dear Naiele,

Thank you for your email. This is an automatically generated response to inform you that your message has been received. If your article or file has been deleted in the mean time, please don't worry. Any administrator can restore these later.

If you want to send more emails about the same subject, please add the following to the subject bar of the email: [Ticket#: 2016041810002061].

Yours sincerely,

The Volunteer Response Team

Hi Naiele. The ticket number is the number you need. -- Marchjuly (talk) 03:06, 3 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
