Are you aware of any bots which can import from Flickr?

Dear Mr Chill

I wanted to check if you knew of any bots which can upload from a set of Flickr URLs to Commons? I have a specific issue which means I can't use Flickr2Commons (they want to release the license using OTRS)

Commons:Village pump/Technical#How to upload 300 files from a Flickr to Commons account through OTRS permission, not a license change on their Flickr account?

Thanks John Cummings (talk) 17:26, 4 August 2021 (UTC)

@John Cummings: you should be able to upload it with flickrripper which is part of Pywikibot. I wrote the initial version, but haven't used it in years. Multichill (talk) 16:36, 5 August 2021 (UTC)
Thanks very much, this is way beyond my skill level but hopefully someone knows how to press the buttons. John Cummings (talk) 17:21, 5 August 2021 (UTC)

GeographBot and titles with vertical bars: |

I notice that GeographBot has stopped running just after uploading File:Red Roof Cafe.jpeg. I presume this is because its title on Geograph is "Red Roof Cafe | Gallery", which contains a vertical bar character, which is special in wikitext and in the Mediawiki API. It's probably worth making sure that GeographBot can handle such characters, because there are almost 4000 of them waiting for it in the future, mostly on photos by Fabian Musto. --bjh21 (talk) 14:44, 15 August 2021 (UTC)

@Bjh21: thanks for the message. The resume uploading logic seems to fail if the title contains a pipe |. I did a quick fix and restarted the robot. Multichill (talk) 16:02, 16 August 2021 (UTC)
File:US Army 51292 Can U tell me how to get to Sesame Street.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

@Bodhisattwa: why are you sending me this message? I never participated in India. This feels a bit spammy. Multichill (talk) 20:22, 30 August 2021 (UTC)
Apologies for the message if it is wrongly placed. Your username appeared in this quarry which suggested that you had participated on one of the previous editions of WLM India before in some capacity. I will try to add more criteria to the quarry to filter out wrong targets. Sorry again. -- Bodhisattwa (talk) 20:33, 30 August 2021 (UTC)
