Notification about possible deletion

Some contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.

If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Localization of Abusefilter warnings

Hi! In my opinion, all Abusefilter warning messages should be localized in "autotranslated mode", with displaying based on UI language.

As example, MediaWiki:Abusefilter-warning-overwriting-artwork is displayed in the upload form and localization of this is very important. My proposal is not to create a lot of localization sub-messages, but to call (through a «Autotranslate») template that could be marked with translation markers (as custom license tags).

Proposed new code for MediaWiki:Abusefilter-warning-overwriting-artwork (calling through template Template:Abusefilter-warning-overwriting-artwork) is:

{{Autotranslate|base=Template:Abusefilter-warning-overwriting-artwork}}

For other Abusefilter warnings i am propose these same way. --Kaganer (talk) 13:33, 9 June 2018 (UTC)

Don’t mix different translation systems. This is a MediaWiki system message so you should use that system to translate it. These kind of creative solutions are just a source of confusion and bugs. Multichill (talk) 14:07, 9 June 2018 (UTC)
OK. This is may be translated within the proposed translatable page (available for everyone), and then copied to the message. As example, Russian translation is done. --Kaganer (talk) 17:31, 9 June 2018 (UTC)
Please also change in base message direct links Commons:Overwriting existing files to [[Special:MyLanguage/Commons:Overwriting existing files|Commons:Overwriting existing files]] or to {{ll|Commons:Overwriting existing files}}. --Kaganer (talk) 17:34, 9 June 2018 (UTC)

What properties does Commons need?

Greetings,

Structured Commons will need properties to make statements about files. The development team is working on making the software ready to support properties; the question is, what properties does Commons need?

You can find more information and examples to help find properties in a workshop on Commons. Please participate and help fill in the list, and let me know if you have any questions. Thanks! -- Keegan (WMF) (talk) 18:53, 28 June 2018 (UTC)
