Notification about possible deletion

Some contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.

If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Botje

Hi, are you by any chance working on _something_similar ? --Foroa (talk) 13:39, 27 March 2013 (UTC)

Commonscat.py already implements this, but I'm afraid Wikidata broke/limited that bot. Multichill (talk) 21:43, 27 March 2013 (UTC)
Should be able to work without Wikidata. By the way, how is Wikidata linked to the articles, I could not find any link. --Foroa (talk) 15:39, 28 March 2013 (UTC)
I've been working on getting Commonscat links to Commons and updating these for quite some time. I even kept some statistics. This is a lot of duplicate bot work in different languages
Now that Wikidata is going live I created a property to store the link. See for example d:Q569101. If you use the property syntax on one of the linked articles you can get the link to Commons. If a category gets changed, we have a central location to keep track of that. Multichill (talk) 14:56, 31 March 2013 (UTC)
Great, this mean that the continuous whining about category redirects should lower to a less hysterical level. I still don't get it how the article links to d:Qxxxx . --Foroa (talk) 15:31, 1 April 2013 (UTC)
It's all at Wikidata, see for example d:Q1144392. At the bottom there is a list of links including nl:Kleine parelmoervlinder. You can add, change or remove links to articles there. Multichill (talk) 16:32, 1 April 2013 (UTC)
For the commonscat, as far as I understand you later have to do an explicit call. For the interwiki's however, lets take Multichill's example, on wikidata you lookup the object that has as nl-link 'Kleine parelmoervlinder', that way you find the correct object and you can lookup all the other interwiki's. Akoopal (talk) 17:53, 1 April 2013 (UTC)
Question is: how to get from a wikipedia item quickly in the related d:Qxxx ? Searching in Wikidata is not always very efficient. --Foroa (talk) 10:26, 3 April 2013 (UTC)
It doesn't seems to be possible to connect to Commons galleries, the most natural connection ? --Foroa (talk) 11:13, 3 April 2013 (UTC)
To find it from a wikipedia, simply click on the 'edit links' (koppelingen bewerken) in the left column under the interwiki's. Akoopal (talk) 07:58, 4 April 2013 (UTC)

Request

Hi, thanks for protecting Carlos Latuff's talk page against vandalism. Would it be possible to delete revision 94044792? It cites the name of the previous editor in a defamatory way. Thanks, Capmo (talk) 13:45, 6 April 2013 (UTC)

Kasteel Montfort

Dag Multichill, de RM sjablonen possible rijksmonument bij de foto's van Category:Kasteel Montfort kunnen allemaal hetzelfde vervangen worden. Groeten --Havang(nl) (talk) 12:19, 5 April 2013 (UTC)

Dit is uitgevoerd. Akoopal (talk) 19:32, 6 April 2013 (UTC)

Commons-Wikipedia synchronization

Hi Multichill, I have some questions regarding Commons-Wikipedia synchronization:

thanks, ערן (talk) 07:27, 13 April 2013 (UTC)

Those stats are pre wikidata. We're now in the process of moving the links to Wikidata. Update bot is not completely ready, will probably be operational in the next few weeks. Multichill (talk) 09:33, 13 April 2013 (UTC)

Groet, --Martsniez (talk) 08:15, 18 April 2013 (UTC)

Ja, het is zeer lastig. Ik heb het zo gedaan. Multichill (talk) 17:26, 19 April 2013 (UTC)

collapse removal

The collapse had been put (not by me) around the Penyulap-thread to make COM:AN/U again manageable, not at all "stupid". The "trolling discussion" was nevertheless going on, so the collapse didn't hinder any dedicated commenters, but it produced a clearer surface. Your removal has put COM:AN/U again in the prior unpleasant state. Similar as Bidgee, who had stated this earlier, I refuse to work on COM:AN/U under such conditions. --Túrelio (talk) 20:52, 23 April 2013 (UTC)

You posted just after I went to bed. I see that someone now properly closed it. Multichill (talk) 19:02, 24 April 2013 (UTC)

New PD-template for mass-uploading?

Hi, We are a bit lost in PD-templates for the GLAMTools project. As there are so many with many customization option it is difficult to figure out what would work in our workflow. We now have the idea of creating a new PD template that basically states: "Institution 'x' has indicated that this is in the Public Domain in their own country and in the United States". Is that something that Commons would accepts as a good template? If not, how does your normal workflow looks like when selecting a template for mass uploading? Best, --Martsniez (talk) 16:04, 25 April 2013 (UTC)

(chiming in)
Hi Maarten. I thought that for “old stuff”, the general {{PD-old-100-1923}} or {{PD-old-auto-1923|deathyear=1920}} cover most of the use cases. Isn’t it so?
Jean-Fred (talk) 17:23, 25 April 2013 (UTC)
Hi, but in most cases the metadata won't contain the death year of the creator so the auto version of the template is not applicable. There could also be cases where the material is between 1923 and 1943 and public domain in most countries with 70 years. We would like to have a one template that we could use here. Or have a rationale when to choose which one. Is {{PD-old-100-1923}} good enough for that? --Martsniez (talk) 13:12, 26 April 2013 (UTC)

WLM old upload form script

I saw two WLM nl campaigns at Special:UploadCampaigns.

Do you still need (/will you need) MediaWiki:UploadFormNlWikiLovesMonuments.js being available at the basic/old upload form? I just like to remove the load-hook from MediaWiki:Gadget-ImprovedUploadForm.js. The script will remain where it is. -- Rillke(q?) 07:18, 27 April 2013 (UTC)

Foto's Rijksmonument 37867

Dag Mutichill, alle foto's in Category:Gitstappermolen zijn rijksmonument 37867. Kun je de cat's en sjabloons aanpassen. Groeten --Havang(nl) (talk) 09:46, 28 April 2013 (UTC)

Heb het sjabloon vervangen waar relevant. Akoopal (talk) 18:14, 30 April 2013 (UTC)

Your bot uploaded these files. The deletion discussion has been reopened because the administrator only deleted redirects to the files but forgot to delete the actual files. --Stefan4 (talk) 12:16, 29 April 2013 (UTC)
