Please do not remove categories unless the image does not really belong to that category. Vehicles in Tehran are very different from vehicles in Rio or Caracas or Chicago. They are part of personality and character of the city. Pars Khodro P.K., based on first generation Renault 5. The P.K. was a car made by Pars Khodro between 2000 and 2005 using the body of the Renault 5 and the engine of a Kia Pride car. So you can not find this vehicle in Paris. Tehran is relevant here. Each image should go into as many appropriate categories as possible. If the category is very general as in this case do not go by removing the category. Please move to appropriate sub-cat. If it does not exist create it yourself. There is already a category names transport in Tehran, you can move the image there. You can also create a sub category named Vehicles in Tehran. You should add Vehicles in Iran and Tehran as parent categories. Location information is very important. This is how commons work. Always be polite. Thanks for your explanation. :) BUT, before nominating any mine picture for deletion I advice you to slow down and contact me because of two reasons: deleting my photos may ruin some of my great article about your country at Croatian Wikipedia (some 800-900!), and because I'm in position to find any artist and ask them for permission to use photos of their artworks (I'm sure that absolutely everybody will approve my request). Well, you may take a look just at size of some articles which I've made - from ancient Median and Persian Empire to modern Iran, from ancient cities like Persepolis to modern capital Teheran, from ancient rulers like Cyrus to current president Ahmadinejad, and including many other themes like Iranian Kurds or even Economy - those Croatian articles aren't just larger then their English or Persian counterparts but in many cases larger then both of them combined. You'll also notice that in there is no red links in most of ancient articles but only blue one, which implies that hundreds articles exist about Iranian rulers, satraps, places and various things. I know that Croatian Wiki isn't so popular like English version, but at least 20 million Croats, Bosnians and Serbs can read it (we have very similar languages). Photo request: Tehran trolleybus[edit]

Have you taken any photos of Tehran's trolleybus (اتوبوس_برقی) system? In case you don't know it, the small network starts at Imam Hossein Square and (at or near) Imam Hossein Metro Station, and I added some information about it to the Tehran page of Wikipedia 10 months ago, using two British sources (but I have never visited Iran). It is also mentioned in the trolleybus article on English Wikipedia, and it has its own article on German Wikipedia. Currently, Commons has only one photo of it, and it is not very good (because the trolley poles are difficult to see). There are more than 300 trolleybus systems currently in operation in the world, but Tehran's trolleybus system is the only one anywhere in the Middle East (however, a small new system is under construction in Riyadh); see List of trolleybus systems if you are curious. You probably have no interest in buses/trolleybuses, but if you have a convenient opportunity to take a few photos of the Tehran trolleybuses (and upload them), I would be grateful. I searched the web a little and found out that there is another small line between Shush and Rah Ahan that is intended to be connected to Imam Hossein-Khorasan line. According to a news report in the July-August 2011 issue of Trolleybus Magazine (a British magazine), the route section from Meydan-e-Shush "to the railway station at Meydan-e-Rah-Ahan" opened on 13 March 2010 (as an extension beyond Shush), so the route section to Rah Ahan is the newest part of the Tehran trolleybus system. Trolleybus photos were used at the Russian-based electric transport site http://transphoto.ru/. Since trolleybuses in question do come from Eastern Europe, and similar vehicles are used throughout the former USSR, these photos would be of great interest. Many thanks.

I did the translation. As it was mentioned on Help:RotateLink, I was not aware of lossy Windows JPEG rotations and some of my uploads are in lower size and quality than they actually used to be. Great! :-) Well, not all Windows programs do lossy rotations - but many. For windows I recommend the free (no price but not open source) Xnview (which does lossless transformations if you select the correct button from the toolbar).
Yes, you could just upload the images directly out of your camera by using the function "upload a new file version" on each file page and then -if it displays wrong- request rotatebot. Unfortunately my blocking story on FA:WP still continues and I couldn't create those articles when my account was not blocked there (for about one week). But I managed to create Template:Infobox School and I will update HISD by a new infobox and translate the other ones as soon as possible. And about Template:Vi on FA:WP, everything seems to be OK. Category:Society of Iran[edit]

Hello, Americophile! I've been working a lot on categories of countries both here at Commons and at the English-language Wikipedia. In particular here, categories of countries have been overpopulated, so I moved a lot of categories around to about 20 for each country. One of the criteria was to place "Society of X" as one of the main categories, and put there "People of X" and "Culture of X". The reasoning is: particular people are part of the society of certain countries, so "People of X" must be a subcat of "Society of X"; and the culture is part of the society, so "Culture of X" must be a subcat of "Society of X".

I often think as an enginner, so I think these categories as sets and subsets. In this case, "Michael Jordan" is a subset of "People of the US", which is a subset of "Society of the US". The same way, "French anime" is a subset of "Culture of France", whihc is a subset of "Society of X".

Hi, thanks for your hard work in category namespace. As you can see Category:Iran is a category in good standing. This main category has no images and just 20 subcategories. I usually keep an eye on it and have lots of its subcategories in my watchlist. I have no objection if you want to harmonize all the categories in Category:Society by country by please note that you need a community consensus about this major change. I mean that the categories of Category:Society of Iran, Category:Society of Germany, Category:Society of France , Category:Society of the United States, and Category:Society of the United Kingdom must be identical, not different. Hi Soroush, Welcome to the Wikimedia Commons. Commons is a repository of free images and does not accept fair use. This image is a logo of Imam Khomeini University that may meet the threshold of originality, so it cannot be hosted on Commons. This image is the entrance gate of Imam Khomeini University and unfortunately there is no freedom of panorama exception in the Iranian copyright law, so it cannot be hosted here. The problem of the logo can be solved by uploading it locally on Persian or English Wikipedia (fair use is accepted on both of them) but the problem of the entrance gate cannot be solved until Parliament of Iran pass a new provision about FOP in Iran. Feel free to ask any other questions and if you prefer to use Persian, don't hesitate to ask in Persian. I will respond in the same language that you use. Removal of filemover right[edit]

Dear Americophile. I just removed the filemover right of your account, because you renamed lots of files without following the policy (COM:RENAME). There was absolutely no need to rename File:Colombia - Risaralda - Mistrató.svg to File:Colombia - Risaralda - Mistrato.svg (the only change is the letter "ó"). These weren't obvious errors or any of the other criteria. Furthermore you also changed English names of pages about cities to a Persian title. Of course this is a multilingual project and English is not the main language, but these articles already existed and therefore there was no need to change the name of the page (instead you could've create a redirect). As I had explained here in detail, at first I declined those rename requests because Commons is an international and multilingual project and there is no reason to prefer English to other languages but after a few moments I noticed that the requests were made by the uploader of the files (Criterion #1) and I fulfilled them (I also mentioned this issue in edit summaries). And about those galleries, as mentioned here, "galleries should be named in language most associated with the subject" and I moved all of the galleries relating to Iran to Persian titles (Persian is the official language of Iran). If I were you, I would ask a user for an explanation and then wait for his response and finally take any action. Anyway I'm not interested in moving files anymore. For each image, make a list of which English words correspond to which Persian words 2. The request can be posted in the Commons:Graphic Lab/Map workshop. هیچکدام از اینتر نت نیست دارای حق کپی رایت هم نیست . اما چون در ویکی پدیا فکر می کنند آنها حق کپی رایت دارد آن را در فلیکر آپلود کرده ام کخ بدانند حق کپی رایت ندارد. البته ممکن است تصویر حرفه ای نباشد همه عکس هایی که شما کاندید حذف کرده ای می توانند حذف شوند ولی زمانیکه عکس های بهتری آپلود شود بطور مثال تصویر ساعت آبی تصویر خوبی نیست اما فعلا من تنها تصویر ممکن را دارم و هزاران کیلومتر از آن مکان دور هستم اما بدیهی است وقتی عکسی از همان موضوع در آن صفحه آپلود شودشما می توانی عکس بد را حذف کنید من آن تصاویر را فقط برای فهم مخاطب گذاشته ام صمنا من بیکار نیستم که عکسهای دیگران را آلود کنم و کاندید کردن آنها تحت عنوان کپی رایت بویژه در مورد مقالات فارسی مسخره ترین چیزی است که در اینجا صحبت می شود آثاری که من می فرستم هیچکدام مشمول حق کپی رایت نیست اینرا آگاهانه می گویم چون نقض کپی رایت در درجه اول متوجه خود نقض کننده است بارها مقالات من از رسانه ها ایرانی خوانده شده بدون دکر منبع یا حتی در روزنامه های رسمی اما من شکایتی ندارم برای اینکه هزینه شکایت از دستاورد کمتر است . مثلا برای من مهم نیست عکسهای جزیره کیش یا اصفهان یا رود اسالم حذف شود آنها را حذف کنید اما حذف نقشه ها با نیت صورت می گیرد و باید انگیزه یابی شود من برای گرفتن آن تصاویر به جاهای مختلفی مراجعه کرده ام از جمله موسسه سحاب . ش

Hi! Done. I removed some images of Hamid Karzai with US officials such as Rod Paige or Elaine Chao because I think they are not very important persons and completely irrelevant to Afghanistan. من دسترسی برای حذف تصاویر ندارم و تصویری را هم تاکنون حذف نکرده‌ام؛ اگر منظورتان نامزدی برای حذف است، دلایل را به همراه لینک‌های موردنظر در همان صفحات نامزدی توضیح داده‌ام. لزومی برای توضیح دوبارهٔ همهٔ آن‌ها در اینجا نمی‌بینم. Americophile 18:18, 18 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

پروژه از نظر فضا و حجم با محدودیت مواجه نیست. لطفاً تصاویر جدید (حتی کراپ، فلیپ یا ...) را تحت نامی جدید ذخیره کنید و نه روی فایل‌های قبلی. در ضمن تفاوت از نظر شما معنی‌دار نیست ولی از نظر من قطعاً معنی‌دار است؛ تفاوت اصلی هم در فلیپ شدن تصویر است و نه سفید شدن پس زمینه که برای ویکی‌های چپ به راست طراحی شده‌است. سلام. لطفاً نیت‌یابی نکنید، به جای بحث بر روی مشارکت‌کننده بر روی محتوا تمرکز کنید و نزاکت را نیز رعایت فرمایید. تصویر مورد نظر شما اثری از ایرنا و به‌وضوح ناقض حق تکثیر است که نامزد حذف سریعش کردم. خود شما هم می‌توانستید این نقض حق تکثیر را با استفاده از {{Copyvio}} گزارش کنید. Hi, Takabeg. Absolutely not. I reported it as a copyvio because I'm pretty sure any attempt to convince governmental organizations in Iran to send a permission to OTRS will fail. They don't care about copyright issues and don't understand how a free content differs from a copyrighted one.
