Would you mind creating the account User:Mitch32, and redirecting the user & talk page to this account? This will reduce confusion, I think. Thanks  — Mike.lifeguard | @en.wb 06:06, 1 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

An offering for our new administrator from your comrades...

Mitchazenia, congratulations! You now have administrator rights on Commons. Please take a moment to read the Commons:Administrators page and watchlist related pages (in particular Commons:Administrators' noticeboard and its subpages), before launching yourself into page deletions, page protections, account blockings or modifications of protected pages. The majority of the actions of administrators can be reversed by the other admins, except for history merges which must thus be treated with particular care. Have a look at the list of Gadgets (on the bottom there are the ones specifically for admins – however, for example the UserMessages are very helpful too).

Please feel free to join us on IRC: #wikimedia-commons webchat on irc.libera.chat. There is also a channel for Commons admins, which may be useful for more sensitive topics, or coordination among administrators: #wikimedia-commons-admin webchat.

You may find Commons:Guide to adminship to be useful reading. You can find the admin backlog overview at COM:AB.

Please also check or add your entry to the List of administrators and the related lists by language and date it references.

Block of MachoCarioca[edit]

Hi Mitchazenia! If you have any questions about my behavior I will say to you. No problem. I respect your opinion. Thanks! Fred Xavier (talk) 16:04, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please, see this. Thanks for everything, Mitchazenia. Fred Xavier (talk) 18:56, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to bother, but MachoCarioca is using your sentence and your name to try to attack me in pt.wikipedia. See here. The section "Frase da Semana" is used to include phrases decontextualized to denigrate other users. Please, what can I do? Thanks. Fred Xavier (talk) 15:02, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, you are not bothering, you're fine. This section in my user page is where I copy some citations I collect in the project that I think hilarious or brilliant or absurd or ridiculous or great. This is written above the citation.

I collect it in all project, from many people, as you can read in its history log. In fact that section is very popular with brazilian editors on Wiki-pt overthere since I began it one year ago. This is the 'Citation of the Week',(Frase da Semana) and when I read another interesting one, I change it. In fact, the whole thing is over, really. And you gave a lesson to wiki-pt administrators, it is written there too, after your username. And I apologize for Fred Xavier comes here to bother you. Yours MachoCarioca (talk) 09:18, 17 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

PS Don't worry, there's nothing 'bad' about you on it.

There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful information about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

De-adminship warning[edit]

Deutsch | Español

Dear Mitchazenia/Archive Commons-3. I am writing to you to inform you that you are in danger of losing your adminship on Commons because of inactivity.

If you want to keep your adminship, you need both to sign at Commons:Administrators/Inactivity section within 30 days of today's date, and also to make at least five further admin actions in the following six months. Anyone who does not do so will automatically lose administrator rights.

You can read the de-admin policy at Commons:Administrators/De-adminship.

Thank you

Hello, Mitchazenia!
Tip: Add categories to your files
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

A couple of notes[edit]

Hey, just wanted to say thanks for the + on the Flickr review thing. On the utexas maps we all love in USRD, we should tag them with PCL in addition to any copyright tags. Also, Category:Topographic maps should usually be Category:Topographic maps of the United States or New York. Ciao. --Admrboltz (talk) 19:58, 14 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I see you've undeleted a few items earlier; may I just remind you to close the requests (with udelh and udelf) so that they are properly archived afterwards? Thanks. –Tryphon 20:28, 27 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the trust deposited on me, but wasnt this request closed one day sooner than it should be, as stated on this page that requests should be a minimum of two days, and my request was less than 24 hours? In any case i dont see my username on the reviewers list, and the requested wanst closed as others with a approval or repproval. So i ask in what pace is this request? If it is already closed or if as to be reopened? Thanking in advance for your trust. Tm (talk) 08:01, 4 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Mistake?[edit]

Hi, you closed Commons:Deletion requests/File:Udo5.jpg as delete, but put it as kept on the talk page. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 01:22, 9 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

And, similarly, Commons:Deletion requests/File:Ανδριάντας Κολοκοτρώνη Χαλάνδρι Halandri.jpg says it's closed as deleted, but the image is still there. - Jmabel ! talk 05:40, 9 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently I am not watching what I am doing. I deleted the second one.Mitch32(Want help? See here!) 15:40, 9 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Suffolk County Road 101 signs[edit]

The following sign that you got from Flickr(File:Suffolk County Route 101 in Yaphank.jpg) is actually in East Patchogue, New York, not in Yaphank, New York. I recognize that former Pergaments shopping center on the corner of CR 101 and Montauk Highway all too easily. Just thought you'd like to know. ----DanTD (talk) 19:24, 19 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Personal rights - Help me, please[edit]

Please, help me! 3 photos of mine are in the project without the permission of the people portraited. Could you please delate them? Here are the pics:

File:A woman's portrait.JPG

File:Portrait d'une femme.jpg

File:A girl looking at herself in the mirror.jpg

I really appreciate your help. Thank you Alessandro Zangrilli

Just for your information. Alessandro has asked 12 admins at the same time to perform these deletions. In between, regular DRs have been filed for Commons:Deletion requests/File:Portrait d'une femme.jpg and Commons:Deletion requests/File:A woman's portrait.JPG, whereas the third image is heavily used on many projects. I would recommend not to file a speedy without any further input from the uploader. --Túrelio (talk) 13:26, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

We need your help at the Wikiproject medicine[edit]

Hello, Sorry for spaming your talk page, but this is very important. On the behalf of the Wikiproject medicine at the en.wikipedia, I am inviting you to be a part of the discussion going on the project's talk page about Patient images, The discussion started after I obtained a permission to more than 23000 dermatology related images, and about 1500 radiology images. As some editors of the Wikiproject medicine have some concerns regarding the policy of using patient images on wikipedia, and regarding patient consents. Also they believe that common's policy is not so clear regarding the issue. And since you are the experts please join us at this very important discussion -- MaenK.A.Talk 14:24, 20 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I was sorting old deletion request and come to this files DR. You have closed it with delete decision, but apparently restored it. Was it just a misclick or ...? --Justass (talk) 21:39, 13 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No spite intended(NY 109 image)[edit]

I apologize if you feel offended by my remarks on File:NY 109 Westbound; NW of Little East Neck Road.JPG, but that wasn't meant to spite anybody. ----DanTD (talk) 03:15, 23 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File:Edison_NJ_Transit_station_viewed_from_OpenStreetMap.JPG has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Erie RR Main Line cat[edit]

Did you get my message on the Erie Railroad Main Line commons category a while back? I would've thought you'd jump at the chance to add this category to a lot of images. ----DanTD (talk) 21:02, 30 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Note[edit]

I marked this image you uploaded and marked yourself and have a reason here why I did this. We cannot mark images which we upload ourselves on Wikicommons even if we are Admins or trusted users. A third party is supposed to do this. Just to let you know. In this case, the flickrbot would have marked the photo anyway since you didn't crop it. You don't have to contact me in return. Its OK. Thank You, --Leoboudv (talk) 05:50, 17 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

 •  Comment: When I became a trusted user, I was told (gently) not to mark my own uploads on Commons. So, there are limits placed on me here. As far as I know, every image I uploaded to Commons from flickr has passed flickrreview--whether by the flickrbot, a trusted user or an Admin. So, I guess the system works. Its just that the bot or someone else marks your photo--so you can say that a third party confirmed the license was free at upload. That's all. If you want to mark your uploads, its your call, but you also might face some problems if a copyright owner complains in future. I trust the system overall to avoid such a situation. So, I'm being cautious here. Thank You for your time and keep up your good work, --Leoboudv (talk) 06:08, 17 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your uploads from flickr[edit]

Please link directly to the image page, not to the gallery - this greatly saves time when we verify the license. Thanks. Materialscientist (talk) 04:28, 29 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
