LEGOs and derivative works
[edit]See Commons:Deletion_requests/Archive/2006/08#Image:Lego_Roboforce_two_minifigures.jpg, LEGOs has been discussed before. You should therefore not add {{Derivative}} to these images, but rather make a reguler deletion request. Kjetil r 03:56, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
- Hi, I do not think so. LEGO Minifigures and Bionicles are copyrighted 3-dimensional works, consequently photographs of them are derivative works, see here, too. --Melkor23 04:08, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
- Well, I personally consider photos of LEGO minifigures as derivative works of copyrighted objects. But as long as the discussion resulted in a keep, one should not delete them as derivatives. Please make a regular deletion request instead. Kjetil r 04:11, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
- Okay, sorry for the additional work I saddled you with the speedy deletion templates, I will do it the regular way. --Melkor23 04:13, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
- But I don't understand why the images in the action figure category shouldn't be derivative works. Are there discussions, too? --Melkor23 04:17, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
- I don't understand it either. I do not know of other discussion than Commons:Deletion_requests/Archive/2006/08#Image:Lego_Roboforce_two_minifigures.jpg. Kjetil r 04:26, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

I assume the situation is clear enough, so I don't bother the deletion info You have left on my discussion page. Anyway, You can always renew the discussion about Lego and other potentially derivative works as well. I think it would be good to know something for sure, to not worry in the future.
