And the license is ?!? --Denniss (talk) 11:49, 12 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Denniss: pd-self. The text below the image stated that, which I believed was enough. --Mdann52talk to me! 13:28, 12 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi!, The OTRS permission does not come from the official e-mail adress. Can you please elaborate why you accepted this permission? Thanks you in advice :-) --Steinsplitter (talk) 17:06, 3 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Discussed on IRC. --Mdann52talk to me! 17:17, 3 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Gray matter loss[edit]

Hi. Sorry is I made a mistake uploading the gray matter loss image to wikimedia commons. This is an image I created based on anther generic brain image already in wikimedia commons. I thought that I was allowed to release it into the public domain if it is my own creation. Thanks.--Skinner's Pigeon (talk) 18:41, 8 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The issue here is not if it was based on another work (in which case you should tag it as such), but due to the fact it has aparently been published elsewhere. You'll need to send an email to the OTRS team to confirm this. Thanks, --Mdann52talk to me! 18:44, 8 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Photos of Kwangmo[edit]

Hello. I saw that you approved the photos of User Kwangmo (example). So, is everything alright with the uploads? Cause for example this pic File:LHS-최광모-수지.jpg had been deleted. It seems quite legit, though. --Christian Bolz (talk) 13:18, 25 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ahmed Douma[edit]

Thanks for the review. I added the OTRS template to the cropped versions. Cheers, — Racconish 📥 11:24, 28 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

COM:UDR[edit]

Could you, please, request redeletion if you don't intend to handle your COM:URD request futher? Like this one Ankry (talk) 10:38, 3 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Ankry: I'm not always watching that page, especially when I submit multiple requests, unless I am notified about a response, hence why most admins ping me if I don't act on it. In this case, I've been otherwise engaged I missed this (I've been away the last few days, so couldn't follow this up further). Can you restore it again please? --Mdann52talk to me! 20:07, 6 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Done. Ankry (talk) 06:10, 7 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.
Thanks for uploading File:Penelope Spheeris.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

Warning: unless the permission information is given, the file may be deleted after seven days. Thank you.

@Secondarywaltz: Thanks for the notification - I'd already indicated this was sent to the photosubmission queue, I just forgot to tag it.... --Mdann52talk to me! 16:03, 12 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. Source "Photosub 2015072710020664" made no sense to me. It probably still makes no sense as a source. Secondarywaltz (talk) 16:32, 12 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

NZ Flag

im not happy with fry1989 he stole my idea of the black and green versions of Kyle Lockwood's flag

Hi Mdann52... I partially reverted your edit at Special:Diff/122009934/122027668 - the ticket states "Creative Commons Attribution" in item 4. There's no version given, but I think given the ticket is a year old, we can assume the current version at the time, which was 4.0 ... I did the same at File:FComite - Headshot.jpg. If you disagree, feel free to change it back but the copyright holder is clearly not Judae1. Cheers, Storkk (talk) 10:02, 22 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

File:Photograph of Tony Sargeant.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Your VFC installation method is deprecated[edit]

Hello Mdann52, we are aware that using the old installation method of VFC (via common.js, which you are using) may not work reliably anymore and can break other scripts as well. A detailed explanation can be found here. Important: To prevent problems please remove the old VFC installation code from your common.js and instead enable the VFC gadget in your preferences. Thanks! --VFC devs (q) 16:24, 22 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

OTRS permission[edit]

Hi, Could you please explain why you added a permission to some images with a claimed author different than the person who sent the OTRS ticket (i.e. Category:Pictures by Jean-Pascal Quod and Category:Pictures by Christopher Mah)? See also Commons:Bistro#Déboires, suite. Regards, Yann (talk) 09:42, 25 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Yann: Unfortunately, as this was 4+ years ago, I have no recollection of the incident, sorry. My only possible thought is copy-pasting the wrong ticket number somewhere along the lines. Sorry I can't be of more help, but I hope you understand I don't have a limitless memory!! --Mdann52talk to me! 16:06, 25 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Pay attention to copyright
File:Jim Martin2.JPG has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.

The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.)

  • This file is a copyright violation for the following reason: CC-BY-SA 4.0 requires that a URI or hyperlink to the Licensed Material to the extent reasonably practicable be provided, but there is no hyperlink to the photo provided anywhere on this page even though it would be practical to do. This does not appear to be an upload of one's own work, so this is a copyright violation under the terms of CC-BY-SA 4.0.
Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
