Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content).

You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki.

Getting help

More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump.

Goodies, tips, and tricks
  • Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
  • You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.
  • Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~.
  • To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
  • You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.
  • There are several tools to upload files.
  • Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful.
Made a mistake?
  • Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it.

Ritratto di Maria Amalia in veste di Diana[edit]

Ciao, Maria Amalia. Ho dovuto annullare la modifica che avevi fatto nella descrizione del File:Presumed portrait of Maria Amalia of Austria (so-called Maria Carolina of Austria) - Palazzo Pitti.png. Anche se erroneo, il testo riportato è quello presente nella scheda del Catalogo generale dei beni culturali [1], e quando si riporta un testo, lo si tiene com'è, errori compresi. In ogni caso è più volte correttamente indicato che il soggetto del ritratto è in realtà Maria Amalia.--Kaho Mitsuki (Dis-moi) 18:17, 24 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Il dipinto è appunto una copia di quello di Dal Verme. Semplicemente non si può cambiare un testo citato, anche se sbagliato. Ma è appunto indicato (l’ho esplicitato io) che si tratta di un errore della scheda del Catalogo. In ogni caso non è possibile che tu abbia visto il dipinto, perché si trova nel deposito del Soffittone...--Kaho Mitsuki (Dis-moi) 23:32, 24 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ancora un’altra cosa. Sei sicura di quello che dici su Stanga? Lui parla solo del dipinto originale ora in Pinacoteca a Parma, ne pubblica la foto nonché due bozzetti. Il dipinto di Firenze non poteva conoscerlo... fino all’erronea identificazione con Maria Carolina, fatta nel 2006, quel ritratto era considerato di principessa ignota.--Kaho Mitsuki (Dis-moi) 23:43, 24 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ciao Maria Amalia. Il caricamento che hai fatto era corretto, ho solo qualche consiglio. Quando si tratta di un dipinto di un autore morto da più di 70/100 anni la licenza da utilizzare è il PD-Art. Ho notato che il file che avevi caricato era un po' sfocato e non al massimo della qualità proposta dal sito. Avevi utilizzato un programma per ritagliarlo? Per questo genere di operazioni ti consiglio GIMP. Si tratta di un programma molto simile a Photoshop ma gratuito (lo troverai facilmente con Google). Ho ritagliato di nuovo la foto, perché il ritaglio non era perfetto. Anche per il nuovo dipinto che vuoi caricare, bisogna togliere la cornice: la policy di Wikipedia è che solo le opere d'arte bidimensionali possono essere caricate con il PD-Art. Quindi, se sei l'autore della foto, non c'è problema nel lasciare la cornice, ma se la foto viene da una fonte terza, la cornice va rimossa. Un'altra cosa: i siti in cui hai cercato le due foto non sono ottimali, soprattutto il secondo. Per il primo ritratto è facile trovare la pagina ufficiale dello Harvard Museum, per il secondo la ricerca è un po' più puntigliosa, ma si tratta di un dipinto venduto da Christie's (una coppia di ritratti, un uomo e una donna, c'è la foto solo del ritratto femminile); è sempre meglio utilizzare il "sito primario" della foto come fonte.
