Odontaspis ferox teeth image to be used in a publication[edit]

Dear Mr. Douzery,
The reason why I am contacting you is that I would very much like your OK for the use of your photo file name "Odontaspis ferox-Requin Dents02-Montpellier-4819~2015 10 02". I am preparing a semi-scientific publication in which I am explaining the use and meaning of fossils. One of the chapter deals with the question why shark teeth are reatively frequent in Tertiary sediments, and I would like to use your photp to explain the structure of shark dentition.
I would appreciate your permit and a short advice how to cite your work.
Sincerely,
Gerd Geyer — Preceding unsigned comment added by Manudouz (talk • contribs) Friday, October 28, 2016 6:27 PM (UTC)

Use of Acasta Gneiss[edit]

Hello, I'm an artist that came across your image while researching the oldest known exposed rocks on Earth. I'm an interdisciplinary artist working mostly with drawing and glass engraving (some photography) to explore the origins, endings, and interconnectedness of all things. I'm interested in the phenomena that brought space, time, matter and beings into existence, and I like to create cosmic cartographies, evolutionary timelines, and trace narratives that follow the small and invisible over vast stretches of time, in a semi-abstract, semi-representational way. In photo-work, I occasionally (although very rarely) use found images as part of the storytelling. The rock would be cut out and used on a large white background, juxtaposed with other images. I'm wondering if this would be alright with you. Kind regards, Margaret Inga Urias Margaretinga (talk) 18:13, 24 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Margaretinga.
All of this is alright with me! I would be happy to discover the creation including the Acasta gneiss.
All the best with your drawings. Manudouz (talk) 09:59, 25 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Use of Acasta Gneiss photo[edit]

I have been interested in rocks since childhood. Have collected a number of sample rocks and now I am learning more about the geology of how they might have been formed. I have saved a copy of your photo, not for publication. I hope this will be acceptable to you. Thank you. 2600:8804:1E88:B300:637C:A796:54E3:B4B3 23:35, 23 April 2023 (UTC) J Terry[reply]

Use of Acasta gneiss image[edit]

Dear Emmanuel Douzery

I am an editor working on behalf of Lonely Planet Kids (UK) on a book for children called: 'The Rocks Book – a guide to the rocks, minerals and precious stones that make up our planet – and where to find them!'

We would like to feature your Acasta gneiss image on a spread about the formation of our planet and our knowledge of rocks that date from Earth's ancient crust – to help bring these points alive for young readers! We have made note to credit accordingly.

Many thanks, Katie Dicker 2A00:23C6:F6BF:BD01:2D5C:61B5:D94A:D1C9 12:06, 2 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
