Goodies, tips, and tricks Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities. You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads. Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~. To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg. You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Snapphanen och Magne

Hi. Since I suspect you know swedish I'll take the discussion above the two images above in that language. If I'm wrong about the language then just shout.

Vad jag känner till så innebär offentlighetsprincipen inte att bilderna blir fria från upphovsrätt. "Fri för vem som helst att använda" är ett uttalande som det redan tidigare visats inte nödvändigtvis innebär att kommersiell användning samt härledda verk tillåts. Jag har för mig att detta diskuterats tidigare här på Commons men jag hittar inte länken så jag ställde frågan igen på COM:BB så att fler kan ge input. /Lokal_Profil 11:07, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

Hej igen. Det tillstånd som behovs ar mer specifikt an "ser inget hinder i att använda bilderna till wikipedia". Specifikt sa maste personen i fraga 1. ange att han ar verkets upphovsman eller har komplett befogenhet vad galler bildens upphovsratt. 2. Uttryckligen saga att verket far anvandas av vem som helst (aven utanfor wikipedia). 3. Uttryckligen saga att verket far anvandas till vad som helst inkl. for kommersiella andamal samt for att skapa harledda verk. Commons:Email templates (samt lanken till den svenska sidan) har ett bra exempel pa hur ett sadant mail ska utformas. /Lokal_Profil 01:10, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

Nu är problemet närmast det att dessa bilder som tas frekvent av försvarets helikoptrar på olika fartyg inte har någon fysisk person som upphovsman utan utförs som ett uppdrag utav personal vid fotoavdelningen och därefter blir "militär egendom". Dessa bilder är inte hemliga vilket en del andra uppdrag blir och givetsvis då skyddade av sekretess. Den Person som kan sitt OK att använda dessa bilder är BILDANSVARIG vid vid Högkvarteret vid försvarsstaben. OM någon kan ge ett samtycke alternativt göra anspråk till publicering är det i så fall denna person. Med andra ord med det medgivande jag fått per mail så skulle jag i detta läge kunna hävda att dessa bilder i praktiken saknar upphovsman som kan hävda copyright till materialet, det är inte sannolikt att orginalen (negativen) ens finns bevarade. Därmed är för min del slutsatsen klar. Använd bilderna på det sätt ni önskar, försvarsmakten har inga anspråk eller synpunkter på detta över huvud taget.

Det jag skrev innan galler fortfarande. Bildansvarig maste i sa fall uttryckligen skriva att punkt 1 och 2 ovan galler, samt ta pa sig ansvaret for att han far tala for originalfotografen (ifall denne skulle kanna igen sin bild senare och da vilja havda upphovsratt). Jag vet att det kan tyckas som om "ser inget hinder i att använda bilderna till wikipedia" men tidigare erfarenheter med andra myndigheter har visat att de oftast inte gillar den kommersiella anvandningen (dvs. att jag kan trycka upp bilden pa T-shirts och salja utan att de far nan del av profiten, eller att harledda verk skapas, dvs. att bilden redigeras/manipuleras/kombineras med andra bilder etc. for att sedan publiceras igen. Det ar av denna anledning som vi kraver dessa specifika och formellt formulerade e-mail. E-mailet maste dessutom vara vidarbefodrade snarare an klipp-och-klistra sa att alla korrespondensdetaljer kommer med. Hoppas att det hjalper. /Lokal_Profil 11:06, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
