Goodies, tips, and tricks

Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.
Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~.
To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.
There are several tools to upload files.
Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful.

Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it.

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Umieszczanie kategorii[edit]

Hej! W Wikimedia Commons kategorie dodajemy w bardzo podobny sposób, w jaki robi się to w Wikipedii: na dole strony umieszczamy kategorię w postaci [[Category:Nazwa kategorii w jęz. ang|(ewentualny) klucz sortowania]]. W przypadku zdjęcia widocznego powyżej byłoby kod mógłby wyglądać następująco: [[Category:Piotrkowska Street in Łódź]]; przy dodawaniu kategorii nie zapomnij także usunąć szablonu {{Uncategorized}}. Jeśli zaś chodzi o opis grafiki, to wstawia się go do pola =Description za pomocą szablonu {{Pl}}, a w przypadku języka angielskiego {{En}} — wszystkie szczegóły znajdziesz na stronach tych szablonów.

Jeśli istniejący system przesyłania plików do Wikimedia Commons wydaje Ci się trudny, polecam skorzystanie z UploadWizarda. Dzień dobry. Faktycznie, chyba na wyrost potraktowałem słówko memorial jako (dowolną) rzecz, która upamiętnia, znaczenie powinno być węższe. Kuczka[edit]

Dzień dobry – mam prośbę, w opisie zdjęcia [2] przydatną informacją byłby numer posesji przy Piotrkowskiej. Na zdjęciu nie ma już kuczki, ale mimo to wstawiłem je do kategorii [3]. Zdjęcia z Sieradza bardzo ciekawe, zdjęcie „Lema” już wcześniej wykorzystałem w artykule o tym satelicie. PS – zdjęcie elektrowni z Tymienieckiego [4] wstawiłem do wykazu zabytków, jest lepsze niż poprzednie / gdyby w zasobach fotograficznych znalazło się jeszcze jakieś zdjęcie pasujące do braków w łódzkim zestawieniu to bardzo proszę o pamięć [5] – pozdrawiam, Darekm135 (talk) 13:42, 20 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Czy mogę prosić o dodawanie kategorii?

Np tutaj File:Kamień Pomorski Wyspa Chrząszczewska 2011 MZW 00518.jpg powinna być kategoria Category:Chrząszczewska Island, a była Category:Kamień Pomorski.
Tu File:Kamień Pomorski Pomnik poległym za polskość tych ziem 2011 MZW 00499.jpg powinna być kategoria Category:Monuments and memorials in Kamień Pomorski.

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2015 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the tenth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2015) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. In Round 1, there were 1322 candidate images. There are 56 finalists in Round 2, comprised of the top 30 overall as well as the top #1 and #2 from each sub-category. In the final round, you may vote for just one or maximal three image to become the Picture of the Year.

Round 2 will end on 28 May 2016, 23:59:59 UTC.

1541. Waszkiewicz Ludwik urodził się 23 lipca 1888 r. w Łodzi. Po ukończeniu stu-diów historycznych na UJ pra¬cował początkowo jako nau-czyciel gimnazjalny w Łodzi. Równocześnie udzielał się społecznie, m.in. był preze¬sem Związku Stowarzyszeń Polskiej Młodzieży Niepod¬ległościowej i „Zarzewia". Od 1910 r. należał do PDS, w 1. 1914-1915 służył w Le-gionach. Współpracował też z pismami: Zarzewie i Sprawa Robotnicza. Politycznie związany był z NZR, od 1920 r. NPR. Po przewrocie majowym utworzył wraz z A. Ciszakiem prosanacyjną NPR-Łewicę, której był wiceprezesem. Od 1930 r. związał się z BBWR. W 1. 1919-1930 i 1930-1938 sprawował mandat poselski należąc do klubów: NZR. NPR (1920-1926), NPR-Lewicy (1928-1930) i BBWR: w Sejmie І і II kadencji wybrano go w okręgu nr 13, w IV kadencji w okręgu nr 17. Był działaczem Ro¬botniczych Związków Zawodowych w Łodzi. Najbar¬dziej aktywną działalność przejawiał w Sejmie Ustawo¬dawczym, gdzie pełnił funkcję sekretarza klubu, przewo¬dniczącego Komisji Ochrony Pracy i członka Komisji Spraw Zagranicznych delegowanego do udziału w kon¬ferencji pokojowej w Rydze. W 1. 1933-1939 i 1945-1949 pracował jako dyrektor Archiwum Miejskiego w Łodzi. Był uczestnikiem powstania warszawskiego, jeńcem obozu w Woldenbergu. Zmarł 10 października 1976 r. w Łodzi.

W odpowiedzi na propozycję usunięcia tego pliku która wyszła od cudzoziemca nie władającego językiem polskim dokonałem dwóch wpisów: File:Lazar Fuks 1935 Łódź).jpg

Wymyślony problem! Tak to jest gdy cudzoziemcy bez znajomości języka polskiego biorą się za sprawy opisane w języku polskim. Wszystko jest w opisie zdjęcia. To plik archiwalny, wzięty z internetu z zasobów Wojewódzkiej Biblioteki Publicznej im. Józefa Piłsudskiego w Łodzi http://bc.wbp.lodz.pl/dlibra/publication?id=13614&from=&dirids=1&tab=1&lp=1&QI=C887902301F0DBF5AA46ACF06E9B7E86-63 Ani ja tego pliku nie skanowałem ani ja go udostepniałem. Nie jestem autorem zdjęcia, nie jestem autorem skanu, źródło zdjęcia jest w opisie - Głos Poranny (łódzki dziennik) z 31 stycznia 1935 r. Co tu wydziwiac??? Plik jest w domenie publicznej, minęło ponad 70 lat - zresztą wszystko zamieściłem wtedy w opisie, wystarczy umieć czytać. MZW 3 listopada 2017 r. M Z Wojalski

Trochę głupio tak usuwać cudze wypowiedzi, nawet jak się z nimi nie zgadzamy… Ja na prawdę chciałem tylko pomóc… Co do zdjęcia – w Głosie… nie znalazłem, ale chyba to samo jest w Najer Folksblat z 31 stycznia 1935. Posądzanie o dyskryminację i podejrzewanie o antysemityzm nadal uważam za bardzo nie na miejscu (zwłaszcza, że podane źródło – Głos… z 31 stycznia 1935 – nie zawiera tego zdjęcia). Lepiej poświęcić czas i energię na uzupełnienie informacji zgodnie z wymogami commons. Nie zwykłem się obrażać – wedle enwiki najbliższymi angielskimi terminami dla krajoznawstwa są local history, country lore, local lore – może rozwiązaniem byłaby kategoria Category:Local historians of Łódź (jako podkategoria Category:Local historians i Category:People of Łódź). pozdrawiam Piastu (talk) 14:13, 5 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
- Zdaję sobie sprawę z tego, że to tylko przybliżenie, a nie dokładny odpowiednik krajoznawstwa. Dość dokładnie precyzuje to wspomniany art. na enwiki dokładając do historii lokalnej – geografię, etnografię, przyrodę regionu – by uzyskać nasze krajoznawstwo. Jednak nie mam pomysłu jak nazwać osobę zajmującą się country lore, bądź local lore, stąd propozycja by zostać przy mniej precyzyjnych historians. Może z czasem ktoś wpadnie na lepszy pomysł i będzie można przemianować kategorię. A wspomniany Holender zweryfikował źródło, poprawił licencję (PD-Old jest nieprawidłowa, gdy autor jest nieznany – trzeba go znać, by wiedzieć czy minęło 70 lat od śmierci) i zakończył procedurę usuwania fotki, pozostawiając ją (no, albo inaczej – zrezygnował z zapędów cenzorskich, odpuścił antysemityzm, darował sobie nadgorliwość… ;) ). pozdrawiam Piastu (talk) 14:54, 5 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Dzień dobry – przeczytałem rozmowę z @Piastu: o angielskim odpowiedniku polskiego słowa krajoznawca. Rozumiem sens nadawania kategoriom nazw w języku angielskim, ale uważam też, że w problematycznych sytuacjach – a ta taką jest – nie powinniśmy do tej zasady podchodzić ortodoksyjnie. Można wstawić te zdjęcia do kat. w języku polskim, a tę kategorię umieścić np. w kat. "Activists from Łódź" na początku listy. Na marginesie, zasada o nie umieszczaniu zdjęcia jednocześnie w kat. nadrzędnej i podrzędnej również jest słuszna, ale takie rozwiązanie jest czasem najlepsze – choć niezgodne z zasadą – Darekm135 (talk) 17:17, 6 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Ekslibrisy i babelka[edit]

Zacznijmy od drobiazgów :) - przerobiłam projekt Twojego zestawu userboksów z uwzględnieniem szablonu "User since" jako części wieży, tak jak chciałeś. Szablon "User since" pokazywał jednak błędne wyliczenia po wstawieniu bezpośrednio do babelki (nie wiem z jakiego powodu, pewnie się z czymś kłóci), więc użyłam zamiast szablonu babelki innego, znacznie wygodniejszego i uniwersalniejszego. Rezultat możesz zobaczyć w moim brudnopisie, starałam się, żeby wyglądem nie różnił się od typowej babelki. Jeśli Ci się podoba, możesz skopiować jego kod na swoją stronę, albo ja go wstawię, jeśli wolisz. Możemy też oczywiście jeszcze zmodyfikować jego wygląd. Przy tym nowym szablonie wieży, będziesz mógł wygodnie dokładać inne userboksy jak klocki i dowolnie zmieniać ich kolejność.

Jeśli chodzi zaś o ekslibrisy - licencję powinien wybrać autor/właściciel praw majątkowych, więc najlepiej skontaktować się własnie z autorami lub ich spadkobiercami i ich prosić o udostępnienie ekslibrisów na wolnej licencji. Pliki mogą być udostępnione na dowolnej akceptowalnej, wolnej licencji (lista dostępna jest tutaj), popularną licencją jest np. Creative Commons: uznanie autorstwa, na tych samych warunkach, wersja 3.0 (CC-BY-SA 3.0). Jak już autor/spadkobierca/właściciel praw majątkowych zdecyduje się na konkretną licencję, trzeba żeby udzielił w formie pisemnej pozwolenia na wykorzystanie swojego dzieła/utworu na tejże wolnej licencji, to pozwolenie wysyła następnie na adres OTRS permissions-pl@wikimedia.org (najlepiej, żeby to zrobił sam autor, choć można też forwardować mail od autora albo przesłać skan pozwolenia podpisanego na papierze. Pamiętaj, że wszelkie pozwolenia typu: „tylko dla Wikipedii”, „nie do wykorzystania komercyjnego”, „tylko do artykułu”, „zgadzam się na publikację” etc. to dla nas za mało, jako że nie określają lub wprost zabraniają wykorzystywania oraz modyfikowania plików poza projektami Wikimedia.

Tutaj jest opisany bardzo dokładnie, krok po kroku, cały proces, jest też wzór oświadczenia, które autorzy/spadkobiercy powinni wysłać na OTRS. Polscy operatorzy OTRS to np. @Ankry, Polimerek, and Jarekt: . Na pewno będą pomocni :)

Witam serdecznie. Dziękuję za pomoc w ustawieniu "babelka". Licencji na umieszczenie ekslibrisów danego autora w commons jeszcze, mimo upływu wielu miesięcy nie załatwiłem - autor nie odpowiada, ale nie tracę nadziei. Powstał natomiast nowy problem - jak wynika z poniższego kasują mi umieszczone w commons obrazy ekranu telewizora własnoręcznie przeze mnie wykonane, pokazujące moje spotkanie bardzo aktualne 100 ekslibrisów "z białym orłem" na 100-lecie Niepodległej. Zaabsorbowany prowadzeniem spotkania zrobiłem niewiele zdjęć, a ponieważ była ekipa TVP3Łódź uzupełniłem ich zdjęciami z ekranu mój artykuł w wikinews https://pl.wikinews.org/wiki/Wystawę 100 ekslibrisów z motywem Orła Białego – symbolu państwa polskiego na 100-lecie Niepodległej otworzono w Widzewskiej Galerii Ekslibrisu w Łodzi 6 listopada 2018 r.
