Hello, Lsmpascal!
Tip: Add categories to your files
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

- Lsmpascal (talk) 08:40, 27 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Permission to Use your image[edit]

Hi,

I am writing from Dorling Kindersley, a London based book publishing house.

We are currently researching a book called, ‘It can’t be true’ in which we plan to feature planets. We would like to use the picture on this link https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Size_planets_comparison.jpg We were wondering if you would allow us to use your image in the book. Could you kindly let us know?

By supplying these images we understand we have your consent to use the image world, all language, all edition (including eBook) rights, plus for use in spin-off digital products of ‘It can’t be true‘.

We are publishers of highly-illustrated travel guides and books of various others genres. These are translated into all major languages and distributed throughout the world. You can view our books at:

We look forward to hearing back from you as soon as possible, and would be happy to answer any queries you might have regarding this publication.

Many thanks, in advance for your help.

My answer[edit]

Hi. I tried to reach you by email, but "Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently" (I used this address : email-aditya.katyal@dk.com ) So here is my email : You asked me the permission to publish this picture on one of your books. Let's say it will be a pleasure and an honor for me. Could it be possible to have this as image credit : "Pascal Henry, www.lesud.com".

Telluric planets size comparison[edit]

Hello Lsmpascal! I want to use this picture of the telluric planets size comparison to illustrate the article pt:Sistema Solar, but I think the texture used in Mercury is a bit uncoherent with the rest of the article. So, if you can, please change the texture using a gray color to look more realistic, like this picure of the planet. But the other planets are perfect, especially the Earth. Congratulations! Copyright issues are not that simple. The website shows a specific copyright status that the copyright is owned by some organisation identified by the initials "LESUD" (and that is a trademark). However, the image pages categorically state that the images are your own work. The copyright status is therefore unclear.

Do you own the website lesud.com? (Which means that you can licence the images if you own the copyright (that is you and not LESUD)).

Did you produce the images for LESUD? (In which case they are claiming that they own the copyright and not you - and you need to resolve this as it currently appears that you do not own the copyright, rightly or wrongly, given that the images certainly appear to have been copied from lesud.com). 86.153.133.193 14:12, 22 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

- I own the website lesud.com and the firm "le sud multimedia" lesud.com is the website of. I didn't produce the images espacially for lesud. this site is the place I was used to publish some of my work. I published them on this site a few time before I published them on wikimedia. As I always do, I added a copyright on them, and I forgot to remove it after their publication on wikimedia. To be clear I removed the copyright on the images on lesud.com and added a text on our current issue. May I do something more to prove these pictures are not a cr violation ? Let me know, I will do it. .--Lsmpascal (talk) 14:35, 22 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Wiki Loves Monuments France 2019[edit]

Bonjour,
