Portuguese translation of Template:ECA Library[edit]

Just checking in, I looked at your three uploads yesterday and they look great! I'm hoping you could provide a Portuguese translation of the text on Template:ECA Library (just the top sentence, the CC and OTRS templates are already translated), so Brazilian users could more easily read the authorization. Thanks, King of ♥ 08:02, 1 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @King of Hearts: ! I just did this. Thank you for helping me! Sorry bothering you, but could you answer me one question about Categories in Commons? Is it better to create categories in English or is it ok to create them in Portuguese?Thank you. Lilian Viana (talk) 16:15, 1 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Categories should generally always be in English, see COM:CAT for our categorization policy, as well as Commons:Category inclusion criteria and Commons:Category disambiguation for some useful tips. Could you give some examples of categories that you are thinking of creating? -- King of ♥ 18:28, 1 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the instructions. I'm going to read this. I have already created one category in portuguese: Category:Professores da Escola de Comunicações e Artes da Universidade de São Paulo (It means Teachers of ECA/USP). https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Professores_da_Universidade_de_São_Paulo. Should I change it to English?Lilian Viana (talk) 21:04, 1 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I've merged Category:Professores da Universidade de São Paulo into Category:Faculty of the University of São Paulo, as "Faculty" is the preferred term for categories in English since it encompasses professors, lecturers, teachers, etc. (see Commons:Category scheme universities and colleges for the suggested naming convention). I think Category:Professores da Escola de Comunicações e Artes da Universidade de São Paulo might be OK to keep as is, since it follows the language of its parent cat Category:Escola de Comunicações e Artes da Universidade de São Paulo and translating it into English would mess up the ECA abbreviation. -- King of ♥ 21:34, 1 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @King of Hearts: . I think it's good. Thank you for helping me!Lilian Viana (talk) 19:31, 8 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:Post para o twitter da campanha Cada Livro Seu Publico.png. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Post para o twitter da campanha Cada Livro Seu Publico.png]]) and the above demanded information in your request.

Sorry, I didn't understand what is wrong. This file was uploaded from Flickr and the apropriate license is there. I need to change something on the media on flickr to put it on Wikimedia commons again? Thank you! 143.107.83.3 15:24, 9 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Εὐθυμένης: Thanks for your message. Please, I upload this file using the Wikimedia Commons resource to upload media from Flickr (https://www.flickr.com/photos/bibliotecadaeca/52729771487/).
When I did it, there was no information that it couldn't be uploaded. Please, I would like to know what license I must indicate on FLickr, since I'm the admin on this Flickr account and I can change it there.
On flickr this media has the license CC BY 2.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.0/. I use the same license in another files under EveryBookItsReader category and I would like to understand it to manage the situation. These files on Biblioteca da ECA Flickr were done by one of our employees and her name is on the credits on each image on Flickr. Thanks in advance Lilian Viana (talk) 15:46, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
