Please be more careful with the source information you provide with your uploads. We require a unique url for each image so its copyright status can be verified. You gave the same Flickr user's photostream, which has 186 pages of I don't even know how many images on each page, as the source for ALL your images. That just means more work for us volunteers trying to find the actual image source pages and if the user has many images and several albums, as the US Secretary of Defense has it can take rather a long time to find and fix the sources when, if you had given the correct url of each image the FlickreviewR bot could have reviewed them and passed them without needing any further human review. Sometimes it is virtually be nearly impossible to find the images and seeing as you were at each page to collect the images you could have just pasted the correct url into each image. Anyway, I fixed the 6 I saw but please Take care in future as it will save everyone time but you can also use an upload tool which does a lot of checks before the upload and avoids this problem. You can find it at: http://tools.wmflabs.org/flickr2commons/index.html and you can upload by different criteria. Good luck. Ww2censor (talk) 17:12, 2 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

File:Elizabeth II, Queen of Australia.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Tony Abbott photo[edit]

Thanks for clearing up the info re: the Turnbull picture. Would you mind uploading these photos if possible:

Hi, those two photos are not freely licensed at those links. Like the Turnbull photo, we would only be able to use them if we can find that they were published somewhere by the Government under a licence like Creative Commons. Perhaps the photos can be found under CC in some government report, or maybe an archived version of an Australian embassy website (as all DFAT websites are CC). @廣九直通車, the source information was correct - the image came from the homepage of that website three years ago. I have added into the source information a link to the page at Archive.org. Liguer (talk) 10:44, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:Australian Naturalisation Certificate (1955-1970).jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

Warning: unless the permission information is given, the file may be deleted after seven days. Thank you.

@Cakelot1 The source and licence information I gave was correct at time of upload six years ago. Obviously the source URL is now out of date as it leads to a 404. I have added a link to the Wayback version of the source onto the image page, so you can now see it was published under the claimed licence. Appreciate your work to ensure files on Commons have appropriate licences. However I think it would be more constructive if you checked Wayback machine yourself where the source URL is out of date. Otherwise you risk removing legitimate, useful content - files uploaded many years ago are more likely to have out of date URLs and are more likely to be uploaded by inactive users who are no longer around to challenge the deletion.
