Do not upload scans of book with the option "its my own work". You reproduced something, thats not your own work. And now correct it!
Correct this now. --Martin H. (talk) 20:40, 22 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I have no particular prejudice against you, but I certainly have a problem with you. Any Administrator who finds a user who has uploaded several copyright violations is probably going to check all of that user's work, as I have done for the past year. This is simply common sense -- where there is one problem, there are probably more.
Almost all of the files you have uploaded in the last year are either
  • copyright violations
  • violations of the rights of a sculptor
  • violations of the rights of an architect, or
  • are described as "own work" when they are not.
The last group can be fixed, but you must do so. All of the rest will probably be deleted when their Deletion Requests have been open for a week. In addition, I have speedy deleted a number of files that were blatant copyright violations -- taken from web sites with explicit copyright notices. We take copyright seriously here and you must learn and understand its rules. If you continue to upload problem files, you will probably be blocked from editing on Commons.      Jim . . . . File:DSC04472.JPG has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Your picture "File:Wick harbor scotland.jpg" end etc (User:Jameslwoodward) analogically has a similar license ("self|cc-by-sa-3.0|GFDL"), as it is in my photos (analogically). I own a digital camera for photographs in city ru:Аркадак (Arkadak), where the rest every year with my family. You love your pictures more than my files photos? You have nothing to do? Why do you want all of my photos to destroy? Are you a drug addict or an alcoholic, what are you doing on Wikipedia, why are you harassing my work??? My files are numbered automatically installed with a digital camera "DSC04474", "DSC04471", "DSC04472" and etc. My digital camera "Sony Cyber-shot (8.1 Megapixels)". Please read the explanation on the Deletion Requests. In all countries, if you take a photograph of a copyrighted work -- a painting, a sculpture, a building, a literary text, among other things -- then you have infringed on the copyright. If you do it for your own personal use, there is no problem. In some countries, but not Russia, there is an exception to the law which allows such photos to be kept here. We call this exception Freedom of Panorama but, again, it does not apply in Russia, so we cannot keep images of Russian sculpture or buildings unless the sculptor or architect has been dead for 70 years.
My image of Wick is not a problem for two reasons. First that there is nothing copyrighted -- no sculpture, no building -- that is visible in it. Second, Great Britain has FOP for buildings and sculpture.
I am not deliberately harassing you, but, as I said above, almost all of your uploads in the last year has been a problem for one reason or another. As I said, once I found several problems, I simply went back through your contributions one by one and marked almost all of them for deletion or correction.
You must:
  • stop uploading copyright violations,
  • stop claiming "own work" on material for which you did not actually take the picture or write the text,
  • stop making attack posts at unrelated pages such as you did at File talk:Wick harbor scotland.jpg,
  • stop making threats and
  • stop making personal insults.
If you do not change your behavior, you will be blocked from editing on Commons.

  • I'll take off a record "own work". You threaten to destroy my files, but I'm not threatened destroy your files!!! You do help me, but you not do persecute my work. You are required to clarify and ask questions. But you do impose the laws of a foreign country to me! I was born in the USSR, and I'm go in different countries (Commonwealth of Independent States), my photos of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Poland. You did not analyze the text my files on the Russian and Polish, you're not analyzing links my picture for Russian Wikipedia (city Arkadak). You suddenly filed a claim to me (your rigorism). You have to understand it - what it is like Your behavior for another person (on the part of another person from another country, with other laws). I wrote "own work", because it's made with my camera and my scanner in Russia and in Ukraine! --Krupski Oleg (talk) 11:13, 23 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. Commons rules require that all files be free in the USA as well as in the country of origin, so I am required to impose the rules of the USA on you and everyone else. However, there is no place in your files where the USA is a problem. Russia's lack of Freedom of Panorama is a problem for your pictures of buildings and sculpture, but the USA rule is easier, not harder. So the problem is always with Russian law (Ukraine is the same). On the other copyright matters, such as copying from books that still have a copyright, the rule is the same for every country.
But, again, I do not persecute. When I see when mistake, I look for more. When I see more mistakes, I keep looking. That is not presecution.
As for the old documents which you claimed as "old work", I think those have been properly closed out after chaning the author and source.      Jim . . . . Jameslwoodward (talk to me) 10:44, 24 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have looked at all of your files that I tagged with {{Delete}}.
  • Some of them are copies from very old books which you claimed "own work". Those have now been corrected and the deletion requests have been closed as kept. Thank you for correcting your mistakes.
  • Some, such as File:Krupski Mikoaj.jpg, File:Крупский А. К..jpg, and File:А. К. Крупский.jpg, appear to be copyright violations, but more information about when and where the images were first published might allow them to be kept on Commons.
  • Some, such as File:Стр.3.jpg, are scans from recent books and appear to be clear copyright violations. They cannot be kept without permission from the publisher.
  • [:File:Александр Крупский в 1984.jpg]] and File:Второй становится первым.jpg are scans of recent (1980s) publications that are still under copyright. They cannot be kept without permission from the owner of the copyright.
  • File:DSC04474.JPG, File:DSC04471.JPG, and File:DSC04472.JPG, infringe the copyright of the sculptor or architect and cannot be kept on Commons without permission from those people.
  • I have just tagged File:Family Krupski M. A..jpg. The description suggests that this image has never been published before its publication here. If that is true, then it will have a US copyright until 2064 (120 years after creation in 1944). That copyright belongs to the heirs of the unknown photographer, so there is no one from whom we can get permission.
Therefore, the answer to your question is that no one is allowed to remove the {{Delete}} tags from your files until the Deletion Requests are closed after one week. I expect that most, perhaps all of them, will be deleted, although, as I said above, more information might help with a few.
Please take the time to understand the laws and rules under which you and I both must work. You seem to think that you can upload almost anything without worrying about other people's rights -- photographers, publishers, sculptors, and architects.

  • Your "unlikely" - is in your head. And the reality is a ... I to confess to you, so you do not delete my photos. Because he received the title (Rear Admiral in 1944), a new form after 1943 in the USSR! His son (pictured) - this is his grandfather (his grandson gave me this photo.) His grandson - a Russian citizen. I was born in the Soviet Union (I am in Ukraine), and we ourselves have done pictures, all the people in USSR make (own hands - no professional photographer) their photos (black and white) and put into own paper album. Years passed ... I use it for Russian and Ukrainian Wikipedia. I can prove, even in court - I have this picture in my email, from his great-grandson of Russia do give me it (his address too with text, and genealogy). I wrote an article about his great-grandfather in Wikipedia. Do you understand me? --Krupski Oleg (talk) 20:55, 25 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • When I was young - there was no digital photocamera. And I'll did the same photos at home without a license. And they just did too! And I can tell you write technology it. I'm tired of explaining to you - the obvious thing for the former Soviet Union. No license, I bring into the public domain, because I wrote an article about this man, I found his descendants received from them this picture (voluntarily). If you do not understand this, then find someone who is understand on Russian (in WikiMedia Commons) - instead of you, to communicate with me. Because you can not make a fair analysis my files photos from the USSR. This and other photos - please, you of leave, remove the template "delete". Tell me what template to put in to leave a photo for illustration my article in Wikipedia, because this him. You are well understood, I can prove the transfer of photos to me from his great-grandson (pictured old - it was his great-grandfather, a young man - it was his grandfather, a woman - it is his grandmother.) When your had great-grandparents lived (period your great-grandparents too) - you do think. He gave me his family tree (family relationship), to prove. So have. No copyright infringements. I've hung templates (on my personal page) - I'm from Kiev, and so on. I'm not in the U.S.. Source of pictures - Soviet Union (now Russia and Ukraine). Your arguments spread on the military USA (in the military uniform of the U.S.) from USA 1940-1950s, photographs from the U.S., made by U.S. citizens! They and I - are not U.S. citizens (and picture taken outside the U.S.)!!! How do you understand that? --Krupski Oleg (talk) 07:06, 26 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Categories[edit]

Please do not add top level general categories such as

to images. These general categories are not intended to be used for images, but only as parents of more specific categories.

In addition, Biographies is a subcat of Books, so you must not ever use both on one file.

You might, instead use categories such as:

and similar categories where appropriate.

Please remove all of the general cats you have recently added.      Jim . . . . Jameslwoodward (talk to me) 16:02, 26 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Keep  Comment This is a fragment map in 1865 years: Russian empire, Mogilev province - fragment from map Mogilev Governorate "Rogachev district". Fragment of the map, I do copy, I did painted, I did touch-up (because this the map is very old). It is located in the scientific and historical library (inventory # 40594) - I took it personally. Written on the map Old Russian language. - I appealed to all administrators who know the Russian language. For you personally told - I do not wish your administration. So is why you are not able to analyze my files: you do not know the Russian language, you do not know Russian history and Soviet history. My file is linked to this story. You have a lot to explain. What not to do Russian administrators here. You did not fair ID Lock 99664. You aggressively impose their services and your attention (en:Wikipedia:WikiVampire). You make an absurd (en:Wikipedia:Do not disrupt Wikipedia to illustrate a point). You are doing the vandalism against my files (en:Wikipedia:Vandalism). You do discriminate to my files, because I analyzed the relation the files of the U.S., etc.

PereslavlFoto (talk) 20:46, 8 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
    • A propos: не обвиняйте Jameslwoodward в вандализме, вы пока не очень чётко разобрались в сути свободного лицензирования и в том, у кого какие права. Don't claim Jameslwoodward as a vandalism maker: you just don't clearly catch the idea of free licenses, and you don't see who has the author's rights, and how.--PereslavlFoto (talk) 20:46, 8 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
--Krupski Oleg (talk) 07:17, 9 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

PereslavlFoto (talk) 15:30, 12 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
