Hello Kaboldy!

Thank you for providing images to Wikimedia Commons. Please keep in mind that images uploaded to Commons should be useful to all users of Wikimedia projects. This is possible only if the images can be found by other people.

To allow others to find the images you uploaded here, the images should be in some place that can be found by navigating the category structure. This means that you should put the images into appropriate topic pages, categories, optionally galleries, or both of them (see Commons:Categories). To find good categories for your images, the CommonSense tool may help.

You can find a convenient overview of your uploaded files in this gallery.

The important point is that the images should be placed in the general structure somewhere. There are a large number of completely unsorted images on Commons right now. If you would like to help to place some of those images where they can be found, please do!

Thank you. How do you turn this on (talk) 12:29, 14 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Kaboldy!
Tip: Add categories to your files
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

Thank you for providing images to Wikimedia Commons. Please keep in mind that images and other files on Commons must be under a free license and should be useful to the Wikimedia projects. To allow others to use your files, some additional information must be given on the description page. Most importantly:
 • Describe what it is about in a short sentence. (What does the image show?)
 • State the author and the date of creation. If you made it yourself, say so explicitly. If it is from another Wikimedia user, link to the person's local user page. Best to use CommonsHelper.
 • If you did not create the file yourself, state the source you got it from.
 • Add a copyright tag - images without an appropriate license tag will be deleted.
 • Add the image to one or more gallery pages and/or appropriate categories, so it can be found by others. To find out where an image belongs, you can use CommonsSense.

If you copied the file from another wiki, please copy all information given there and say who uploaded it to that wiki. Use CommonsHelper.

It is recommended to use Template:Information to put that information on the description page. Have a look at Template talk:Information for details of the use of this template.

You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file.

Please add as much information as possible. If there is not sufficient information, the file may have to be deleted. For more information, follow the Commons:First steps guide. If you need help or have questions, please ask at the Help desk.

Thank you.

There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful information about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

Italian silhouettes aircraft[edit]

Dear Kaboldy, I am a fan of Italian aircraft they wish to do the silhouettes of aircraft Italian World War II, if I give you the document you may quietly do drawings of the same? Thanks in advance. Invitation[edit]

Hello! I've seen some of your outstanding aircraft line drawings, and I thought you might be interested in joining the Commons:WikiProject Aviation, which has been started recently. Consider having a look to the project page and, if you want to join in, please add your name to the list of members; you can also add the User WikiProject Aviation userbox to your user page. We're working on the creation of a WikiProject Aviation Graphic Lab in which your great skills in aircraft profile and line drawing could be greatly helpful. Thanks a lot, and... see you! Merry Christmas :-) --M.L.WattsAir Mail ✈ 16:07, 25 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome then! Of course, since the category you mentioned is automatically generated by the software, it's always better to check what drawings are actually missing... Just to avoid redundancy. Keep up the good job, and happy New Year to you too! --M.L.WattsAir Mail ✈ 12:49, 27 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, can you upload a better image? Thanks.--Threecharlie (talk) 14:13, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wonderful!!! Thanks ;-)

Re:Parallelism[edit]

You are right, thank you for thinking about this. Right now I'm working on the Santos-Dumont 14 bis, next up will be the Beech Bonanza and the North American B-25 Mitchell. :-) Cheers, --M.L.WattsAir Mail ✈ 18:44, 27 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well, actually there seems to be something a little strange about the File:Fokker D.VIII 3-view.svg. I tried to open it in full resolution with Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. Chrome gives me a little white triangle on the tail in the side-view, but it doesn't move. Everyhing is ok with Firefox instead. I don't know, if you think it's necessary I can upload a .PNG version which will be fully ok. Sometimes there is some trouble in the rendering of .SVG pictures. However, I'm not sure about why did you request the rotation of the file? --M.L.WattsAir Mail ✈ 11:45, 22 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Don't worry, I just removed the rotation request :-) If the problem with the file persists, I can easily upload a bitmap version. Just let me know. About your new drawings, that's also fine. I've been quite busy with it.wikipedia recently so I haven't made much progess with the drawings I was working on. Cheers, --M.L.WattsAir Mail ✈ 13:15, 22 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for always making the nice svg-files! Just one comment to the Battle of Midway svg: In the Battle of Midway only the Boeing B-17E was used (and a single B-17D), the B-17G you included in the svg-file was not yet produced in 1942. You might want to change it. Cheers Cobatfor (talk) 22:58, 7 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:Operaház nézőtér.png. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with GFDL to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with PD-self to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. Proposal about 3-views[edit]

Hello! I wrote a proposal on the talk page of WikiProject Aviation about creating a page (see draft) where users can ask for wanted 3-views. Of course that doesn't mean you must draw only those aircraft, but I think it's a good way to coordinate our work. Let me know what you think about this, if you whis. Cheers :) --M.L.WattsAir Mail ✈ 09:49, 1 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Great, thanks. Then I created the page Commons:WikiProject Aviation/Wanted 3-views. Maybe you want to sign among the "3-view drawers"! --M.L.WattsAir Mail ✈ 17:32, 1 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:Aquincum-Amphiteatrum.jpg, is missing information about where it comes from or who created it, which is needed to verify its copyright status. Please edit the file description and add the missing information, or the file may be deleted.

If you created the content yourself, enter Own as the source. If you did not add a licensing template, you must add one. You may use, for example, GFDL or Cc-zero to release certain rights to your work.

If someone else created the content, or if it is based on someone else's work, the source should be the address to the web page where you found it, the name and ISBN of the book you scanned it from, or similar. You should also name the author, provide verifiable information to show that the content is in the public domain or has been published under a free license by its author, and add an appropriate template identifying the public domain or licensing status, if you have not already done so. I can also see the following needing similar maintenance

It might also be worth you looking at some of your other early uploads and see if they can do with some similar maintenance. If you could, that would be a great help. Thanks.  — billinghurst sDrewth 03:05, 24 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Aviation now on Twitter[edit]

Hi, as mentioned here, Commons:WikiProject Aviation is now on Twitter. I will be using the feed to tweet photos from our now extensive repository of aviation imagery, and will also use it for outreach activities. If you have any suggestions on how to get the maximum use out of Twitter feel free to leave suggestions on the Aviation project talk page. You can follow the account at http://www.twitter.com/commonsaviation. Cheers, russavia (talk) 14:09, 26 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:1900 (aft) Lwow Ludwig Ritter von Habdank BIALOSKURSKI Oberlandesgerichts President Lemberg Foto Noel Lissa Dawniel C K Nadworny fotograf Henner.jpg.

If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.

Vecsés címer[edit]

Kedves Kaboldy! File:Budapest alap.svg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Use of 3-View-Drawings[edit]

Dear Kaboldy,

I am working on a booklet about fighters of WW2. May I use you excellent 3-Viev-Drawings for this work? If so, how would you like to be credited? Thank you!

Alexander Lüdeke from Germany

Dear Lüdeke,

I am very proud to know, that my works are useful for others. Naturally you may use them all in your book according to Creative Commons Attribution-Share 3.0 Unported license. If you want to give my name in the references, my real name is dr. Peter Kaboldy, but you may give Kaboldy, Wikimedia Commons too. Even if you need drawings of further planes, I can make them. You only should write your wish in Commons:WikiProject Aviation/Wanted 3-views - Wikimedia Commons In the end, when the book will be finished, I'd like to get a sample of it, eventually in PDF form.

Ilyushin DB-3 & IL-4[edit]

Hy Kaboldy! I want to thank you about your fantastic work on "Wanted 3-views". I know we have File:Iljusin Il-4.svg but you know it differs a lot from "BD-3x" Ilyushin developped before. In fact we (en.wiki and it.wiki, I mean) have separate pages: en:Ilyushin Il-4 and en:Ilyushin DB-3. Anyway I'm not here to ask you to work to a new file, but only to underline that "I know" we have the file you mentioned. Thank you, once again! --Leo Pasini (talk) 10:02, 8 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, don't worry... DB-3 has been without 3-view for so long time, I really think it will be difficult that anyone will complain that you'll wait "some more" days! So, take it easy and enjoy grandchildren: they need you and won't ever forget days spent playing with you. Hy! --Leo Pasini (talk) 11:12, 8 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Szolnok címerének színei[edit]

Szia! Át tudnád színezni Szolnok címerét az önkormányzati rendeletben megjelölt színekre? (Ugyanott látszik, hogy a koronán a két aranyszínű gömbnek fehérnek kellene lennie.)

A nemzetijelkepek.hu is gyöngyoket ír a koronán („ötágú, nyitott, rubinokkal és smaragdokkal ékes, aranyleveles korona [három levél között két gyöngy]”), amelyek jellemzően fehérek, szóval szerintem követhetnénk az önkormányzati rendeletet, de a biztonság kedvéért írok a megadott kapcsolattartó e-mail címre. És köszönöm a bíztatást a fényképekkel kapcsolatban, szétnézek, mi található a gépemen. Máté (talk) 09:27, 5 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Szia! Stipa-Caproni[edit]

Hi, can you create a new file from File:Stipa-Caproni piani.jpg? The original uploader declares that the image is a copy of a photo in PD-Italy, but I think it's an original graphic work, a copy of perspective tables found in a magazine or book. I think using that license the image can be erased so that a small change perhaps it would make a completely new image and free from all doubt, can you deal with it? Hi. By no means I want to criticize your work, especially that it illustrates Swift well (and I can't draw myself) :), but while studying a subject for the Polish article, I wanted to let you know, that this picture has a mix of features. Wings have a dog tooth (Mk 4-5, possibly also retrofitted to Mk 3), a canopy is late bubble FR Mk 5, but a nose is a fighter variant (Mk 1-4), and an engine has no reheat (Mk 1-2). A fin seems early lower one (Mk 1-3). Regards! Pibwl (talk) 22:43, 1 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Mk 5 had a blunt nose with a camera, not pointed (although the difference is very small) - and a tail fin seems lower. You can find a nice book on Swift here [3], with colour drawings and plans. Pibwl (talk) 15:05, 2 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hungarian coats of arms on Wikidata[edit]

Good evening!

I've noticed you consistently produce high-quality pieces of hungarian civic heraldry. Please, consider adding your work to the Property 94 on the page for the town on Wikidata – that way Wikipedias, that use Wikidata as a source for Infoboxes – including Hungarian Wikipedia, for which you are a contributor, though you may still need to edit the article if the file name is filled locally – can instantly use the new vector version without anyone having to edit the page but more importantly without having to notice there is a new file superseding the Bitmap version to begin with. :) (In case you don't already know – you can find the related Wikidata page either through the article about the town or through the bitmap's File Usage section.) I've also checked your previous uploads and it seems they have been added to Wikidata by other users, so you don't need to worry about it.

Thank you.--TFerenczy (talk) 21:48, 3 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Can you make a new 3-views from Fiat C.R.32?[edit]

Hi, I wanted to ask you a courtesy if you can and if you want. In it.wiki a user has lately expanded the article on the Fiat C.R.30, the progenitor of the well known Fiat C.R.32, models that are very similar and where the most obvious difference lies in the different wingspan (only the superior?), shorter in C.R.32. I wondered if it was possible for your intervention to change the File:FIAT CR-32.svg into a new 3-views that reproduces the C.R.30, you can find more images in this pages. I modified your scheme of the Boundary Layer[edit]

Hello, Kaboldy. Your SVG picture https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:S%C3%ADk_hat%C3%A1rr%C3%A9teg.svg is nice, but I had to modify it for using it on https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Couche_limite#Th%C3%A9orie. Notice that I made a PNG file and that a general use svg would be better (but I don't know how to do it). Thanks, Bernard de Go Mars (talk) 09:41, 6 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello ! Thank you, Kaboldy for the SVG picture. But look as you can see on the png picture : https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Evolution_couche-limite_plaque_plane_d%27apr%C3%A8s_S%C3%ADk_hat%C3%A1rr%C3%A9teg.png, the thickness of the turbulent boundary layer must be taken from the wall to the top of the boundary layer. Also note that the leading edge of the plate must be chamfered. Last little thing: it would be good to separate the text "X critique" from the oblique line ... If you make these three corrections, I will translate the text in english and may be in Spanish and Portuguese (except in Turkish!)... 3-View Layout[edit]

I have greatly benefited from your many 3-view drawings of aircraft. I always wonder why the view layout seems to violate drafting conventions. If the top view has the nose of the aircraft to the left and the tail to the right then the front view should be to the left of the top view and the left side view should be below the top view. In that manner the views line up with respect to one another if the sheet is folded at 90 degrees between the views. As the views are positioned in your drawings a fold between the top and front view will not only show the front view at the rear of the aircraft but it will also be upside down with respect to the top view. Similarly for a fold between the top and side view.

Your J-3 3-view drawing.
The same 3-view with the layout I expect.

Maybe I don't understand something? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thayneh (talk • contribs) 01:45, 18 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Thayneh, the answer is very simpleː there are 2 drawing conventions (standards) in the world, the American and the European. I am a Hungarian, we use ISO standards, but if you like, you can change all my drawings to US conventions. Kaboldy (talk) 04:07, 18 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ahhh ... now I understand. I couldn't imagine that with your mechanical engineering background that you would place the views in an arbitrary way. In my short four years (27 years ago!) employed doing drafting and mechanical design in the U.S. I had no reason to venture into the ISO layout standards. While I'll point out that there are many U.S. and ANSI standards that, to me, are broken (dates being one of them - they should be written YEAR-MONTH-DAY!) I'll have to side with the ANSI view layout as being more natural (at least to my brain). No, I have no motivation to re-work your drawings - especially now that I understand why the views are the way they are.
Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thayneh (talk • contribs) 15:42, 19 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A címerrel kapcsolatban lenne néhány javaslatom. https://kep.cdn.index.hu/1/0/1841/18412/184129/18412985_1130689_8b80b4332b9ec49afb26560d010bf892_wm.jpg Ez a kép az őcsényi polgármesteri hivatalban készült, melynek falán látható a címert is tartalmazó zászló. A többi rész szerintem ugyanolyan.

Úgyhogy mindenesetre érdekes a helyzet.
Kaboldy (talk) 20:01, 1 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Rendben, azért köszönöm a lehetőséget. További szép munkákat kívánok:) Netpartizán (talk) 20:35, 1 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Szia, bocsi hogy újból írok. Ugye a címer témát megbeszéltük, egyet is tudok érteni veled, hogy amíg nincs konkrét addig nem lenne korrekt lecserélni a jelenlegi általad készített fajtát. A zászlóról mi a véleményed?

Loire 130 3-view request[edit]

Hello! Would you please back to business once again and make another beautiful 3-view drawing? For this File:Loire 130 3-view L'Aerophile June 1944.jpg Maxrossomachin (talk) 14:10, 8 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I am in business constantly. If you are seeking good airplane drawings, try it in a Russian websiteː http://www.airwar.ru (Ugolok nieba). I̟'ll make an svg dɽawing, if I will have time. Kaboldy (talk) 14:41, 10 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Got it. Thank you! Maxrossomachin (talk) 17:29, 10 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
