Ishikawa Diagram

Currently not realy. Accoding the desciption page the painting is made 2013 which is far less than 100 years ago. The author is the painter, not the auction where you got the image from. License issue for a book cover

Hi JuTa The image I uploaded is from public domain. I am not sure what I selected wrong while uploading it. This image is on Amazon.com and on the author's website. Why was my art deleted?

Please explain why you deleted File:Mackitosh of Mackitosh arms.svg and MacGregor_of_MacGregor_Arms.svg ? I created these a while back using Inkscape. My user page: User:Czar_Brodie has all my creations listed. You can see from these that I use appropriate tags and always link art that is on the commons and was used in the pictures I created. If these were not their I can only think that a user inadvertently removed them. If I have been doing something wrong please inform me. Please also restore my art. Permission gained for my two images

Hello JuTa. Copyright permission has been sent to OTRS by the copyright holder for File:Humphrey Southall.jpg and File:Vision of Britain homepage 2009.jpg, although it took longer than anticipated. Hi, I restored th files and tagged them as "OTRS pending", even though this is not the standard method in such a case. The standard answer would have been: 'Please wait till OTRS staff decided this case. If everything checks out OK the will undelete the files.' PS: If you know the licenses the copyright holders like to publish the images, please update the decription pages accordingly. Photo Deletion Appeal File:Reba Toney.jpg

On September 18, 2013 you deleted my photo File:Reba Toney.jpg. At the time, I was new to Wiki Commons and misread what Wiki was asking me to do. I thought that I had to add all sites where the photo could be found. The photo taken is personal property that has been used as publicity multiple times. You have to try to contact the copyright holder, which is normaly the fotografer and not the model, and ask him/her if he/she likes to publish the foto under a free license. {{Cc-by-sa-3.0}} is recommanded. Hi, the first problem is that there is ust no license template on the file description page. {{Cc-by-sa-3.0}} is recommanded. For details see Commons:Licensing and Commons:Copyright tags. The second problem is that this is not your work, so you cant grant a free licns for it. Only th copyight holder can. Commons will need a written permission by the copyright holder. Hi, I'm sorry, but thats not the way it works on commons. you would have to provide a source where the images are explicitly licensed under a free license by th copyright holder, which is normaly the fotografer. And images are protectd i most countries not for 10 but for 70 years after th authors death. So. in som cases much mor than 100 years after creation. regards. --JuTa 19:14, 27 September 2013 (UTC)

You recently deleted Image:Kosmo.JPG, an image that has been in use for years in a number of wikibooks. However, apart from the indication that it was without licence as of april 2013, which I cannot check but would be a bit strange for a file that has been on commons for a number of years, I cannot find any information about the deletion request/discussion, origional uploader etc. The link to the deletion request is a red link! Can you please provide me with as much information as possible, so I can either try to contact the original uploader, find a replacement, or start an undeletion request. Hi, the deletion was ot realy recently but in April, but anyhow: The original upload happend in 2006 by User:Amrrfr without any description,source o license. Some othe users added {{free screenshot}} and some categories later. In April a Bot marked it into Category:Media without a license: needs history check because there was syntax error in the "free screenshot" template. I corrected that and marked it as "no souce" because the still was no souce within the descrition and deleted it 9 days later as nothing was corrected. It was a screenshot out of a software, and the GPL license was hopefully correct, but the underlying map and/or satelite image didn't looked like they are free as well. regards --JuTa 04:14, 3 October 2013 (UTC)

So I understand that this file has been around for 8 years without it being questioned. Then someone questions whether a part of it is indeed copyright free and it is deleted after just 9 days??? 9 days? And that without informing the projects using this image? Do you really think that in 9 days, without noticing the users of the image, there is any chance that anyone would check this out? Do you understand that writers of wikibooks put a lot of effort in finding the right illustrations. Of course it can happen that an licicing error is detected (far) to late, but at least we might expect that first some time and effort is put into finding out whether indeed the complete image is copyright free. I could understand the procedure for files that have been uploaded recently or that are not in use, but this is really something differen!

Hi, You understand completly right. That is the normal method. The uploader gets informed but not any other projects. There was no deletion request discussion. The image was marked with {{No source since}} which makes the images eligible for speedy deletion after 7 days - compare Category:Media without a source. If it is a free software, licensed under {{GPL}} it shouldn't a big deal to reupload a similar image correctly licensed and sourced (for you or anybody else). The maximum I can offer to you is to temporarily undelete the image an renew the problem tag.That woul give you another 7 days to find a comprehensible source and correct the dscription file. regards.--JuTa 08:17, 3 October 2013 (UTC)

Problems in Javanese script categories

Hi JuTa,

I've recently categorized pictures such as File:Javanese ba.svg to only be placed in Category:Javanese SVG letters. But they are still present in Category:Javanese alphabet even after I purge the page. Is there something I miss? Also, I have a request to make.

In Category:Javanese alphabet, some of diacritics such as File:Suku mendut.png and File:Wulu.png are shown without indication of their position to a letter and they are far larger in size compared to the letter. As they already have counterparts which show this qualities, such as File:Jawa Suku.png, I propose them to be deleted.

Some of the file names in the category are not standard. In the category, all name begins with Jawa. Also, some has wrong names, such as File:Jawa Aee.png. The letter is for transcribing "eu", and it should be File:Jawa Eu.png. If possible, I would like to rename them. Some are terribly alike and one of them should be deleted I think, such as File:Jawa Adeg Adeg.png and File:Pada adeg-adeg1.png.

Hi, lets sort your problems case by case:

• The categorisation comes from the Template:JG Aksara Jawa, which is added a source, a license and this category automaticly. You might like to talk to User:MissMJ, who added the automatic category in 2011. If you remove that, you should go through Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:JG_Aksara_Jawa and check every single image if this category should be added manually then.
• If you think some files should be deleted you can raise a deletion request - compare Commons:Deletion policy#Regular deletion. But I dont think your arguments would be considered as a valid reason for deletion.
• If you think a file should be renamed you could request this by adding the template {{Rename}} to it. For the detailed usage of it: see the documntaion within the template. An expierienced user with the appropiate rights will check your requests and rename th files if the reasons are valid or decline the request if not.

Thank you JuTa, I have followed your instructions and are waiting for the result. Meanwhile, I also thought that Category:Javanese alphabet is misleading, as Javanese is not an Alphabet. Category:Javanese letters is more appropriate, but it is stocked with Javanese letters using "Hanacaraka" font (as well as Category:Javanese numerals and Category:Javanese pasangan letters), while Category:Javanese alphabet is stocked with letters using "JG Aksara Jawa" font. Would it be possible to combine those categories into:

>Javanese letters
>>Javanese letters using hanacaraka >>>numerals >>>pasangan letters
>>Javanese letters using JG Aksara Jawa

Yes, either you can start a discussion about the item(s) - see Commons:Categories for discussion. But its ot very "crowded" there, and it could take weeks or months until a case gets commented or decided. Or, if you feel your changes would be uncontroversial, you could start to recatgorise the images yourself. But in this case you have to ensure that you don't leave orphans behind. You should check each image in each category carefully an modify the catgories accordingly. And if you change the template above yourself have a deep look at Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:JG_Aksara_Jawa and check an correct every image using the template. regards --JuTa 18:03, 3 October 2013 (UTC)

flinfo. Du kannst in diesem Fall das Bild mit der Nummer 169 auswaehlen und dann den flickr link oeffnen und nach 'rechts' oder 'links' in dem Set gehen. Das sollte das betreffende Bild sein. The original file, File circular scan was created by Poule using Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 . So I suppose the file is under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0, and that the PD dedication done by Fayedizard does not apply. Is it right for you ?
