Ok.

You have marked above as a copyright violation image without a while thinking... This picture was published under a free licence by "Official Star Wars Blog". Pay attencion to the word "OFFICIAL", please. If it is an OFFICIAL site it means that Lukas Film know about it and accepted what they do. Follow this: if there is no objection of Lukas Film and they published that photo under a free licence it means that have rigts to do this and Lucas Film acceped this licence indirectly. For example a one of parts of this blog is "The 501st Legion" They have such statement:

"The 501st Legion is a worldwide Star Wars costuming organization comprised of and operated by Star Wars fans. While it is not sponsored by Lucasfilm Ltd., it is Lucasfilm's preferred Imperial costuming group. Star Wars, its characters, costumes, and all associated items are the intellectual property of Lucasfilm. ©2006 Lucasfilm Ltd. & ™ All rights reserved. Used under authorization".

So if they published some photos under CC licence and it is "Used under authorization" it means that Lucas Films know about it, it has no objection and they have rights to do this. Think carefully before next stuped markation... My time is valuable, too. Regards :) Electron 07:26, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for your message. I do agree with the admin MichaelMaggs who deleted the picture. In order to not open another side for the discussion i will not repeat his arguments --Jodo 21:54, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

I can't figure out what's happening here. Should the image be deleted or kept? – Mike.lifeguard | @en.wb 03:18, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

The deletion request could be closed and the image can be kept. The old version of the image contained a picture which was a copyright violation. That has been fixed and no more problem. --Jodo 10:30, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

Hi, this image was uploaded from the German wikipedia. I presumed the copyright-status was OK. Regards, Woudloper 07:41, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

The copyright status is ok for the German wikipedia. We have a rule which says that pictures which are older than 100 years and the author is unknown are allowed to be uploaded. This is the template Bild-PD-alt-100. These photos are not accepted on commons --Jodo 23:12, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Hi, could you tell me why you closed the deletion request on the abovementioned picture? We (Meursault2004 and I) have given references that prove the map is incorrect. Those who oppose deletion have given no references whatsoever but the picture still isn't gone. Regards, Martijn →!?← 22:24, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

Im not sysop of commons. So i didnt close the debate. That was User:GeorgHH, see Commons:Deletion requests/Image:SoutheastAsia1200Map.JPG. I did just remove the tag, because it pointed on a closed debate. --Jodo 16:11, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
Excuse me, but that was the first deletion request. The second request is not yet closed. I reverted your edit. Martijn →!?← 20:02, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

--Adelfrank 15:48, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

--Jodo 16:14, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

Re:Image Tagging Image:Palatul administrativ.jpg

I transfered the image from ro.wikipedia, as stated in the page, using CommonsHelper tool, so I guess that all the informations are provided, because the tool didn't notice me any problem about that. In case they aren't, I absolutely don't know what to do more about this image.--Frazzone 21:37, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

CommonsHelper doesn't notice anybody when there are missing information. It cannot because it can only take the informations on the local wikipedia and push it to commons. The user just has said that the picture is PD and not why. This is not enough. So if you do not have any further information the image has to be deleted --Jodo 23:12, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Ronald McDonald images

Hi. I saw that you recently nominated a few photos of Ronald McDonald for deletion, including Image:Ronald McDonald doing Thai greeting.JPG. I understand, however, that copyright of the images should fall under freedom of panorama, at least in Thailand. --Paul_012 (talk) 11:38, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

Hi Jodo, after the comment by Paul 012 I'm willing to un-delete the image. But as I don't remember the image very well, I would like to hear your comment why you wrote "copyrighted no FOP" when you tagged it as copyvio[2]. --Túrelio (talk) 13:37, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

If the picture was made in thailand, perhaps i was wrong. Im not familiar with thai copyright and dont know how "public place" is seen. If you Paul_012 or Túrelio do know that rooms on privat ground are ok, than please undelete the image. --Jodo (talk) 20:45, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
I contacted the Department of Intellectual Property by phone, but they were unfortunately unable to give clarification. The term is not defined within the Copyright Act, and the Royal Institute dictionary's definition is pretty loose. There are plenty of out-door Ronald McDonalds though, so I guess we might not miss this one. --Paul_012 (talk) 15:15, 21 September 2008 (UTC)
Ok. By the way: Thank you for the effort of phoning for a picture. --Jodo (talk) 19:55, 21 September 2008 (UTC)

Image:Oc Ford E450.gif

Hi,

I hope you read English. I don't know why you say that the Image:Oc Ford E450.gif does not have enough information about its source and rights. It is clearly indicated that it has been taken from OC Tranpo URL and that there is NO copyright indicated anywhere in this URL. I have contacted OC Transpo (1-613-842-3600) and they confirm that there is no policy in the use of their web pages. Technically, it is then free of any rights.

Pierre cb (talk) 17:55, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

Yes. My English is not very good, but it is enough to communicate :) Its ok when you have phoned with them. Could you please add this to the description page, then you can delete my deletion warning. --Jodo (talk) 19:05, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

Lizenzproblem mit Image:Pacthermo.png

Hallo Jodo

--Jodo (talk) 17:05, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

Hello!

I used this! You must ask original uploader Nilis at de.wikipedia. --Starscream (talk) 19:19, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

Ok. The orginal uploader on German Wikipedia has just to edits in 2005 and the copyright informations are not enought --Jodo (talk) 21:15, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

I have no idea that you wrote me.

If the message is about the files Rada Dec8 2004 package.jpg and Rada Jun28 1996 sign.jpg have to be deleted because missing source, I brought it from english wikipedia, but there now it is taged as not enough information about source, so I agree it have to be deleted.

Thank you for your message. I cant click the links, so i think the pictures were deletet. It's a pitty, but without proper copyright informations we cant keep, like you say. --Jodo (talk) 13:37, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Imagem Campeonato Paulista 77.JPG

I did the upload of the image "Campeonato Paulista 77.JPG" [3] and it appears the message "This applies to the United States, Canada, Brazil, the European Union and other countries where the copyright expires after 70 years date of death of the author. " This means that the image has expired? If yes how can I make another upload it as you can see I'm alive .

Regards, Bcav22 (talk) 01:08, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

You did choose the wrong option at Commons:Upload. This template says that the work is puplic domain because the copyrightholder is dead since 70 years. Because you wrote me i think you are alive :) So just put the code PD-self on the picture page. That says that you, the copyrightholder put the image under puplic domain, and everybody can use the picture without any restrictions. Yours --Jodo (talk) 13:35, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Hello, Jodo!
Tip: Add categories to your files
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

Why did you not mark for speedy deletion all pictures from Category:With trademark? Julo (talk) 21:19, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

The problem is not the trademark logo but the image witch is copyrighted. --Jodo (talk) 21:46, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Dear Jodo, With regard to the above image, you have notified on my Wikimedia User talk page (Dr Steven Plunkett) that it doesn't say who created it. It DOES say, it was me who created it, like I drew it myself in Cortone in 1989, so no need to delete unless you just plain don't like it. I made a free gift of this copy of my own artwork so I guess I really do hold the copyright in it. But if that doesn't meet up to your requirements please don't hesitate to delete it, especially if you can replace it with something else that serves the same purpose better. It was just a stopgap for an important subject. Please don't worry yourself about my account, I shan't be back here, and I certainly won't be offering anything else like that to Wikimedia. Once bitten, twice shy!!! Bye, (sorry I forgot my Wikimedia password), Steven Plunkett

Im sorry, i dont know why i marked the picture but it musst have been a wrong click. The copyright information is 100% ok. --Jodo (talk) 12:18, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

--Martin H. (talk) 00:00, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

Vishnev

Hi, about the photo of Vishnev (see my talk) I have used this photo [4]. The person of in charge of the web site [5] agreed to give me the use of this photo in a personal mail. How I can proceed? --Ilario (talk) 09:46, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

First question is: Who is orginal copyrightholder and does the webmaster of the website really has the copyright. When he has it he can give the photo under a free license. Did he say that the picture is puplic domain from now on? --Jodo (talk) 19:24, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

File:RadulescuMotru.PNG: I've added PD-because. There was already a pretty clear rationale there as to why it was PD, just not this template.

Take a look, tell me if you think there is any issue there, otherwise please remove the tag you added. - Jmabel ! talk 04:09, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

I removed the tag. Isn't there a PD-template that says that? --Jodo (talk) 12:49, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

First: I do not blame you for a copyright violation. I just say that there is a permission needed. The uploader on fr did just scan the ticket. Scanning does not create a new copyright. The orginal copyright holder (designer) of the billet musst send a permission. --Jodo (talk) 14:01, 17 March 2009 (UTC)

I know. I missunderstood the history and thaught, that the image never had a good license, a copyrightholder etc. because i saw [6]. I didn't realise that it had been vandalised by the user. --Jodo (talk) 13:08, 19 March 2009 (UTC)

Notification about possible deletion

Some contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.

If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Hi, I noticed you have set up User:MiszaBot to archive your talk page. Unfortunately, the bot has stopped working, and given how its operator is inactive, it is unclear when/if this will fixed.
