Chang name request

@Jeff G.: Thank you for the suggestion! I will just create a new account instead, but seems like the username I asked to be renamed to became unavailable. I checked the users list and there was no register of an account with such name, seems like that it's unavailable due to my request, I might be wrong though. Hello,

You advised that I consult the Volunteer Response Team/Noticeboard if I had questions about copyright. I did this and received an answer: here There are no permissions and additionally one is apparently a derisive work. So should I now nominate these for deletion? Thanks! Just for reference, some of the files this editor uploaded were discussed at Commons:Village pump/Copyright/Archive/2021/10#PD-US-no notice usage and there was an attempt made to try and sort them out. Some of the files were actually converted to a more appropriate license and at least one was even kept via a DR. Another is still being discussed at Commons:Deletion requests/File:War and Peace (1956 film). Ponti-De Laurentiis Cinematografica, Paramount Pictures. Publicity still.. L to R, actor Audrey Hepburn, director King Vidor.jpg and another was cropped to try and keep at least the PD part of the photo on Commons. The cropping was discussed quite a bit as at User talk:Yann/archives 49#Crop from a deleted file to see whether it would be OK for Commons; there's was some disagreement so perhaps it will eventually end up being deleted. The point is though that editors were making a good faith effort to try and sort things out, but in many cases there was just nothing more that could be done, particularly without more clarification from the uploader. They were asked for clarification a number of times and notification templates were left on their Commons user talk page, but for the most part they never responded. The few times they did like here, it was as if they didn't bother to try and understand what the problem was at all. Some of the files they uploaded as "PD-US-no notice" actually seemed to be photos taken between 2010 and 2015. One was even of a grave marker of a man who died in 1992 and his wife who died in 2013; so, I've got no idea how or why that could be considered "PD-US-no notice". It was almost as if they were adding that license to all of their uploads because nobody had yet told them that doing so might not be correct. I've also got no idea as to why they were adding what looks like the same fair use rationale to their Commons uploads. They seemed to kept doing that because nobody told them about COM:FAIR. -- Marchjuly (talk) 14:37, 22 December 2021 (UTC)

I don’t know Jeff. I want to think they’re just someone who means well, but feeling really frustrated because of some of their uploads being deleted. It could be nothing more than someone really misunderstanding Commons and how it’s set up to function. I can understand their frustration to some degree. They uploaded lots of files and nobody said anything at the time; so, they assumed the uploads were OK. Now, others are telling them that the uploads had licensing issues that meant they couldn’t be kept as licensed. It would be great if they could somehow at least acknowledge that, but their latest response to you on their user talk page, the comment they posted on my Wikipedia user talk and their latest edits to en:Mervyn LeRoy indicate there’s still quite a ways to go for this to be resolved amicably. Maybe taking a step back to see if things cool down a bit is the thing to do now. If they don’t, then further action may be warranted. It’s hard to have a productive Wikipedia/Commons type of discussion when one begins to personalize things and starts feeling they’re somehow on trial. — Marchjuly (talk) 23:33, 22 December 2021 (UTC)

Revert war

I specifically linked a section on dealing with revert-warring vandals.
