Thinking long and hard Jeff I don't think I would be that useful to you. I tend to avoid RfAs now, I'm not that active in the community and, from a while back, I think I probably annoyed a fair few folk on Commons - might do more harm than good. Possible copyright violation

Hi Jeff, I apologise for the possible copyright violations, I'm new to wikipedia and I found the layout and rules a bit confusing. Regarding the pictures, they are leaked and posted on instagram, I would guess the copyright owner is therefor BMW and not the user who uploaded them. How would I go about uploading them correctly, is it strictly against the rules? If so, should I wait for them to be deleted or can I delete them myself? I don't want to cause any inconvenience. @Sjokosaus: BMW holds the copyright on the car's design, which we discount in a photo due to the car being a utilitarian article. The photographer holds the copyright to the photo File:BMW-iX3-front-leak.jpg. You could get the photographer to post permission on Instagram or send us permission directly via OTRS with a carbon copy to you, as hosting the file here is currently against the rules. When you say photographer, do you mean the person who took the actual picture or the uploader? I have no way of finding the photographer as the picture is an unofficial leak. The uploader of the image has BMWfan in his Bio and the title of the picture has the hashtag "leak", I would assume he isn't the photographer.Sjokosaus (talk) 23:13, 13 July 2020 (UTC)

I don't see the image on my edits and I see it was removed. That's fine. However, I am having difficulty figuring out how to edit as I intended. I see the comments and example Jmable of the DaVinci Code. I cannot figure out how to replace the old Sticky book cover from 2006 with a new book cover of his 2019 book, Unpacking. Perhaps you are the wrong person to address this question, but I cannot seem to figure this replacement out. I think I can use the DaVinci Code example/template to avoid the copyright issue you flagged. But if you have other suggestions on that score, I would appreciate that too. Thanks!

OTRS: follow up

Hi Jeff, just to follow up on the other question I raised at the OTRS noticeboard, is there any reason why there isn't a publicly digestible version of OTRS tickets for quick verification by ordinary users? I can understand why there wouldn't be an archive of the full correspondence, as it could contain personal information about the copyright holders. But it would be useful to have a space where verified tickets could be viewed, with information on what the scope of the copyright release is. Cheers — Amakuru (talk) 13:38, 19 July 2020 (UTC)

On July 4 I send an request to the following address : permissions-it@wikimedia.org. We sent the request in Italian, thinking was sent to -it. I am new in wikipedia, forgive me for the mistakes I made.

-On July 21 someone else delated completely my page : Convergenza Socialista

-My self and the owner of the copyrights have received an email from you yesterday, requesting additional authorization under license CC-BY-SA-4.0. The owner confirm that he sent yesterday the complete authorisation to : permissions-it@wikimedia.org as per your kind suggestion.

The problem is that the page is gone and it has been cancelled nevertheless I received authorization from the owner to publish content form the web-site on wikipedia.

I am really confused as this is my first page that I made and first time navigating and learning wikipedia.

Any suggestion ?
