Edit count

Hi, Since the DR is closed, I answer here. You made an argument about the edit count, and it is a bad one. The edit count is rarely a good criteria to judge the value of contributors. Regards, Yann (talk) 09:41, 2 April 2017 (UTC)

@Yann: I was replying humorously to what I saw as a humorous statement, "I've had farts that have been more active on Spanish Wikipedia. -- Colin (talk) 22:19, 26 March 2017 (UTC)" at Commons:Deletion requests/File:Pamela Castro Tamayo.jpg. That's why I put in the text smiley, above and beyond the one in my sig.   — Jeff G. ツ 12:13, 2 April 2017 (UTC)
OK. Well some people take this seriously. :/ Yann (talk) 12:25, 2 April 2017 (UTC)
@Yann: Try not to take everything seriously, have a little fun every once in a while.   — Jeff G. ツ 12:32, 2 April 2017 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!

Gendered pronouns

FWIW, while I probably should use singular they in respect to being "a contributor who is gender neutral on all Wikimedia projects", I am aware of that editor's real identity... it's public info. I just forget to use the ligature because we normally talk on IRC or by email. - Reventtalk 17:08, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

@Revent: Thanks. I was not aware of that public info. If you choose to change your edit in that respect, you have my permission to revert or remove my mention of it.   — Jeff G. ツ 17:15, 20 April 2017 (UTC)
TBH, I think it's better to leave my 'mistake', and your correction of it, there to help awareness of the point, which was correct... that's why I replied here, and specifically didn't mention exactly what I was referring to. The person mentioned is a former chair of a Wikimedia chapter, tho, and referred to with that pronoun (by real name) in an enwiki article. - Reventtalk 17:26, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

You moved this file but it doesn't seem to have worked. I still see the title with the first ( May be related this warning: "Bad title The requested page title is too long. It must be no longer than 255 bytes in UTF-8 encoding." Rmhermen (talk) 17:49, 21 April 2017 (UTC)

@Rmhermen: I moved the cropped version File:("Lake Terrace," John Stoughton Newberry, Jr., house, 99 Lake Shore Drive, Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan. (LOC) (7141870927) (cropped).jpg to File:"Lake Terrace," John Stoughton Newberry, Jr., house, 99 Lake Shore Drive, Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan. (LOC) (7141870927) (cropped).jpg ten days ago, removing the unmatched left parenthesis. I have just done the same with this file, to File:"Lake Terrace," John Stoughton Newberry, Jr., house, 99 Lake Shore Drive, Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan. (LOC) (7141870927).jpg. If you are still having issues, a screenshot would help.   — Jeff G. ツ 20:29, 21 April 2017 (UTC)

Puertas

Hi, can you step in on ticket:2017030110018022 please? I didn't want to be paranoiac, but now I start to feel that they're pulling my leg... But maybe I'm not clear enough in English O_o --Ruthven (msg) 13:43, 23 April 2017 (UTC)

@Ruthven: I don't know on the inheritance issue, so I've opened a discussion at Commons:OTRS/Noticeboard#Inheritance. Re this ticket, the point is moot re the original set of files and their UDR, but what about surviving files in the cat?   — Jeff G. ツ 19:47, 23 April 2017 (UTC)
This is why I asked to confirm the authorization for the other files. I'll participate to the discussion, thanks --Ruthven (msg) 19:50, 23 April 2017 (UTC)
