Army Ranger Wing East Timor images[edit]

Hello, you uploaded three images from the Defences Force Flickr as ARW images. File:ARW EastTimor1.jpg, File:ARW EastTimor2.jpg and File:ARW EastTimor3.jpg. None of the descriptions in the images on Flickr state they are ARW. From what I have read, the ARW was in East Timor from October 1999 until June 2000 - two rotations. Flick has the year of 2001 for ARW EastTimor3.jpg that would make the deployment a platoon from an infantry battalion and not ARW. None of these photos are the ones released years ago around 2000 on the Defences Force website as ARW in East Timor. Are you sure these are ARW and not infantry? Hey, as far as I remember these images were all labelled as ARW from another account but were then later taken from the DF Flickr because the originals were deleted on Wikipedia due to copyright. I wasn't the one to put the original "ARW" labelled images on Wiki. Although you could very well be correct, I am confident File:ARW EastTimor1.jpg is an ARW image due to no national flag on the shoulders and no rankings. As for the other two, I am quite sure I remember them being featured in an ARW video or media piece, however it needs further investigation. Let me know what you think! Hi, File:ARW EastTimor1.jpg was on the cover of the June 2000 issue An Cosantóir Defence Forces magazine with txt "ARW in East Timor". http://www.dfmagazine.ie/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/5-Cover-Jun-2000-270x270.png .Confident it is ARW. I can't find an official source for File:ARW EastTimor2.jpg and File:ARW EastTimor3.jpg that they are ARW. The 30th Anniversary 2010 official video had some East Timor footage nothing matching those patrols. If you don't have an official source you can't say they are ARW. Both are dated post February 2000 as the RNZAF Iroquois helicopter has UN markings. A photo from the same patrol as File:ARW EastTimor2.jpg is in the 2000 Annual Report - the Report does not mention specific units either ARW or infantry.--Melbguy05 (talk) 15:43, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I changed the file description for File:ARW EastTimor3.jpg from ARW to infantry and put in a move request to File:Irish Army East Timor 2001.jpg. Unless you can confirm that File:ARW EastTimor2.jpg is ARW, I will change the file description to infantry and put in a move request as well to a name of Irish Army. Irish military[edit]

I noticed that all your Irish military personnel images that you uploaded in September and October last year do not have a source for the images. Instead the source link to the conditions page but none of the images are linked to. I have been able to find and fix the September images but I can't find the rest to even fix them. Where are or were these images? Now they are effectively unsourced and should be deleted without that info. Can you help this? Ww2censor (talk) 14:35, 18 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
