Hello, Inks.LWC!
Tip: Add categories to your files
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

You can see your updated version at http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/archive/5/58/20121225155131!2012_United_States_tornado_count.png?changeurltobypassvarnish but it's probably not going to be visible the normal way until a bug is fixed, which could take days (see "Village pump"). AnonMoos (talk) 18:12, 25 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Do I need to submit a bug report for that then? I'm actually heading out now, so if there's any way you could do that for me, I'd be very grateful. -- 19:02, 25 December 2012‎ Inks.LWC
Your file is caught up in a problem which affects many files, so there's no need to file an individual bug report for it... AnonMoos (talk) 22:06, 25 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Was the bug fixed? It appears other users were able to upload a new version, but when I just tried just now, it is still doing the same thing. Inks.LWC (talk) 09:07, 14 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It comes and goes sporadically. The image is now stuck on the "20:07, 30 December 2012" upload (I see Dec. 29 in the in-image box), and probably will be for a few days... AnonMoos (talk) 11:45, 14 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Help[edit]

I want to continue the mentorship, but I am now blocked, and even my talk page is blocked on Wikipedia. I've now been accused of --Earth100 (talk) 05:14, 26 June 2013 (UTC)sockpuppeting again, and I am honest I didn't did it! I literally woke up in the morning, to turn on the computer to see a shocking news. I really teared from eyes! Besides, I've got a lot of reasons to say that it wasn't created by me.[reply]

If I were to create a sockpuppet account, I would choose a different user name. Because if I choose the same username, I'll be 100% accused of being sockpuppeting, and that would be very stupid. And, think for it yourself, how WOULD I create another account just for an unblock request?!! Besides, I've been blocked for a few days, and if I were to make an unblock reqest I would have did it a lot earlier. And, do I have a history of vandalizing another user page, especially a admin's? That was the exact thing that user did. And, I went to sleep at 16 UTC,(around 11:00PM Hong Kong Time) and woke up at 01:30(UTC) or 09:30AM (HKT), and turned on the computer at 2:20(UTC). I logged in to Wikipedia at 02:29(UTC) to find huge, huge shock!! I was accused of sockpuppeting again! That hurt me so much, that I actually cried for 5 minutes! I was so shocked, that I felt jelly for the next 3 hours! This is terrible! I came to Wikipedia for only 1 purpose: To do good things like contributing, and defend Wikipedia from vandalism, not and never to do bad things like sockpueppting and more. Why? because, WHY would I sockpuppect know that it is written in the policies it is not allowed, and at the same time, I have never thought about sockpuppeting. Please help! I'm not lying, and i just want to do good things.--Earth100 (talk) 05:14, 26 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No. You've had enough chances. Inks.LWC (talk) 05:16, 26 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You mean you think i'm lying? Just double think, if it were to create a sockpuppet account i would never use the same username. Does that make sense?

Now my freedom of speech is also blocked, how harsh for being blocked for something i didn't done. And i also read the polices that you should ADMIT what you have done. But how can i fix the problem when no one trust me? I've already pulled out the points as shown above, and i hope you won't be skeptical. And if the account was really made by me, i would have admitted it, because if you don't admit you may be blocked. I just said the truth. I was so angry about everything that have just happened that i'm going to do whatever it takes to get back my freedom, and the mentorship project, and hopefully the damn rat behind the the User:Earth101 and User:Earth200 account. I'm really boiling now, and i cannot accept a lot of users who does not believe me. --Earth100 (talk) 08:40, 26 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Even if you get unblocked, you're not listening to anything. The only reason you want to be mentored is because that's the only way you'll be unblocked. You didn't do the lessons when you were being "mentored". You're still not capitalizing "I", and you're still not using proper indentation formatting. You just don't listen to anything. You're blocked from editing your talk page, and I have no interest in conversing with you further on the matter. You don't listen, and you have no real desire to change; you're just upset now because you're blocked again. You should've listened to me when I offered advice months ago, but you didn't, and now you're suffering. Please leave me alone. I've done all I can to help you. You're just going to have to deal with being blocked. Inks.LWC (talk) 08:43, 26 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I can't deal with the blocked with my talk page blocked. How can you say I have no desire to change if you aren't even me?!I'll not leave you alone, for what you did until you do something. You may have helped, but you have also contributed a bit to my blocks. Why? Because everytime you post a attack message on my talk page you alert the admins resulting in block, resulting in a blockage of my freedom, and a user who has only intentions to learn and contribute. I am now extremely mad about my accusation of sockpuppeting. I'm mad enough to punch whoever made the User:Earth101 and User:Earth200 to near the death. And YOU are on my list of suspects who created the two accounts.

I mean only peace here.--Earth100 (talk) 12:08, 26 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Knock it off Earth100 InksLWC has not posted an attack message on your EN userpage - he was just responding to a conversation that was started by myself because you had not done the exercises Hurricanehink had set for you and wasnt participating in the mentorship etc. It wasnt Inks who set up the alternative accounts/sock puppets it was yourself and we have enough evidence to prove it. So stop lying, harassing Inks and bringing EN-Wiki matters onto Commons or i will ask an administrator to ban your account here as well.Jason Rees (talk) 20:19, 26 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Earth, if you believe Inks.LWC is the supposed suspect for that account, I can file in a report to SPI and they will check the IP address. If however, they finds out that you are the real sockpuppet, your journey in Wikipedia will be over, and there will not be anymore chances for you. If you are lying about the Earth200 case right now, a CheckUser can just as easily find out who is behind Earth200. Earth, the best suggestion I have for you is to simply leave Wikipedia for a while. You are welcome to come back and have a clean start when you are ready because now you are in a deep hole. I also suggest you should calm down a bit about the situation. Anger gets us nowhere. - HurricaneSpin (Talk) 20:28, 26 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'm fine with you filing a request, but WP:SPI clearly states "Without exception, you must supply clear simple evidence showing that the accounts you list are likely to be operated by the same individual." There's no evidence that I'm behind the accounts. Again, I won't mind if you file a case, but I highly doubt it's going to get approved, even if I add in that I'd like them to do it. Inks.LWC (talk) 20:35, 26 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry that I wasn't being very clear, but I meant to say filing in a SPI for Earth200 as Earth100's sock to disprove that you are the sockmaster. - HurricaneSpin (Talk) 20:44, 26 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
As you know, Earth200 has been identified as a sock of JG, not Earth, so Earth was correct here for once. I suggest, Earth, that you grow up and stop messing around here on Commons or you'll be blocked. Yellow Evan (talk) 06:02, 27 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Notification about possible deletion[edit]

Some contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.

If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!
