Excelente labor o que estás a facer. Grazas. Con todo, hai un pequecho problema. Observei que creaches unha categoría en galego cando as categorías hai que crealas en inglés. Eu, persoalmente non o considero moi relevante. Vou mirar como debería denominarse esa categoría (por se existe noutras linguas e para manter o mesmo esquema). Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Wikimedia Commons has a specific scope[edit]

Thank you for your contributions. Your image or other content, File:Tomeza, Pontevedra-Lavadoiro,jpg, was recently deleted, or will soon be deleted, in accordance with our process and policies, because it was not, or is not, within our scope. Please review our project scope, but in short, Commons is targeted at educational media files including photographs, diagrams, animations, music, spoken text and video clips. The expression “educational” is to be understood according to its broad meaning of “providing knowledge; instructional or informative”. Wikimedia Commons does not contain text articles like encyclopedia articles, textbooks, news, word definitions and such. Each of these other kinds of content have their own projects: Wikipedia, Wikibooks, Wikisource, Wikinews, Wiktionary and Wikiquote. If the content seems to fit the scope of one of those other projects, please consider contributing it there. Otherwise, consider an alternative outlet. If you think that the deletion was in error because the contribution really was in scope, you can appeal it at Commons:Undeletion requests, giving a reason why it fits our scope to help others evaluate the matter. RE:Category:People of Pontevedra[edit]

Ola. En realidade, as categorías sobre Galicia en Commons son habitualmente caóticas. Están creadas en inglés, galego, castelán,... e con frecuencia se solapan, ou hai moitas ramificacións onde non fai falta, e logo, onde sí sería necesario, van todas a granel nunha categoría demasiado xenérica. Neste caso, anque si é certo que a categoría, en puridade, se referiría só a xente do Concello de Pontevedra, na práctica emprégase para conter as de xente de toda a provincia. Por min, pódese deixar coma o puxestes ti, e co tempo ir creando novas categorías. Saúdos. --Iago ^Conversation 11:47, 15 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Imágenes duplicadas[edit]

Hola, espero que no te importe que me comunique contigo en castellano. Acabo de ver que has subido algunas imágenes de la gastronomía gallega que ya se habían alojado en Commons (A vergoña do galego.jpg, File:Tarta de Santiago 2.jpg). Antes de subir cualquier otra, sería deseable que antes comprobaras siempre, navegando por las categorías, si esa imagen ya existe. Si la imagen ya está en Commons, el software da una advertencia de subido de imagen duplicada, y no se tiene que ignorar; pero puede ser que no salte esa alarma, por ejemplo con Tarta de Santiago- jlastras.jpg (que estaba recortada), o si la imagen se ha retocado de otra manera (por ejemplo al eliminar una de las marcas de agua de las fotografías de juantiagues). Adelanto que no duplico imágenes por gusto. Lo que si aseguro es que no puedo reparar en las categorías de Commons, pues ayer pude subir casi (por no exagerar) 100 imágenes de Flickr. Si el bot de subida no me avisa de que las imágenes fueron subidas, no lo sabré; aunque me avise, me puedo despistar.

Personalmente considero que que ocurra esa circunstancia de repetir imágenes en un 2% o 4% de las imágenes que subo es un problema menor, pero es discutible.

El caso es que he creado junto a otros usuarios un grupo en Flickr de propaganda de las Wikipedias (en concreto de la gallega) y de Commons (http://www.flickr.com/groups/galiza_dominio_publico/). El día a día, pues a veces tengo 20 imágenes pendientes de subir, me impide pararme a mirar detenidamente. Una de dos, o miro detenidamente y dejo de hacer lo que estoy haciendo; o hago las cosas tal y como las hago.

Yo ya he decidido. Pienso seguir igual. Pienso intentar seguir no cometiendo errores, pero no pienso mirar en categorías: Me resulta imposible subir casi 100 imágenes en un sólo día y mirar si existen. O el bot me lo dice (y me puedo despistar) o se repiten

Concello de Oza dos Ríos ou concello de Cesuras?[edit]

Ola, que tal?

Hai unhas imaxes nomeadas "Mandaio - Oza dos Ríos..." na category:Oza dos Ríos, mais, segundo a Galipedia, Mandaio non está en Oza dos Ríos senón en Cesuras.

Saberías ti aclaralo?

Uf. A toponimia de Galiza éche o demo. Ultimamente estou a colocar as fotos de Mandaio en Cesuras polo Nomenclator da Xunta, pero teño un amigo que vive alí e teño estado mil veces na súa casa, que considera que vive en Oza dos Ríos e en Mandaio. Nun comezo, cando comecei a subir fotos de alí, aceptei a súa palabra, despois, máis tarde, reparei no Nomenclator. Sexa como sexa, decidín, como é normal, seguir o Nomenclátor. Mi ma! Case tódalas fotos son de Mandaio e case todas teñen o nome incorrecto. Non lembro a orde para solicitar o cambio de nome porque é un procedemento novo. Vou cambiar a categoría e, cando teña tempo, procurar o cambio de nome da imaxe. Apertas--Iesmgb2 (talk) 16:58, 10 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

O malo é que agora hai que amañar na Galipedia (gl:Oza dos Ríos, gl:Galería de imaxes de Oza dos Ríos...) e notras wikipedias. Eu xa non estou por ese labor. Hola, no recuerdo haber categorizado mal a las iglesias de Pontevedra, aunque quizá fue un error por mi parte. Desde luego, estoy de acuerdo contigo, ya que es la estructura lógica y qye corresponde, y de hecho la aplico en Commons. No hay conflicto: Category:Churches in Pontevedra ha de estar dentro de Category:Churches in the province of Pontevedra, y así en todos los casos. Ah, espera, veo que aquí tenemos una desviación de la convención, al figurar la Category:Churches in Pontevedra (city); Habría que mover este nombre a Category:Churches in Pontevedra, ya que se da por sentado que Pontevedra a secas es la capital de provincia. Temos un problemiña. Metiches fotos nesa categoría, pero alguén estivo facendo modificación e agora iso implica o Gondomar de Portugal, non o Gondomar de Pontevedra.

De momento movín as fotos cara outra categoría existente: Category:Gondomar (Galicia), e non sei como mellorar o tema.

Boas, solicitei o borrado das dúas fotos da AELG de enriba porque na web desa asociación pon que só se liberan as fotos dos fotógrafos Eduardo Castro Bal e Santos-Díez, e esas non son deles polo tanto penso que non poden estar en Commons.
