Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content). You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki. More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). -- Wikimedia Commons Welcome (talk) 03:30, 8 December 2017 (UTC) This is my photo I took in my studio with my business, why is this Copyright infringement? it is original including the screen saver. Thanks--Idallas (talk) 00:37, 9 December 2017 (UTC)
Wikimedia Commons does not accept derivative works of non-free works such as File:Pixel 2 Box & Phone Photo .jpg. It only accepts free content, which is images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Reproductions of copyrighted works are also subject to the same copyright, and therefore this file must unfortunately be considered non-free. For more information, please read Commons:Derivative works and Commons:Freedom of panorama. You can ask questions about Commons policies in Commons:Help desk.
The file you added has been deleted. If you believe that this file was not a derivative work of a non-free work, you may request undeletion.

Please sign your postings[edit]
As a courtesy to other editors, it is Commons:Signatures policy to sign your posts on talk pages, user talk pages, deletion requests, and noticeboards. To do so, simply add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your comments. Your user name or IP address (if you are not logged in) and the date will then automatically be added along with a timestamp when you save your comment. Signing your comments helps people to find out who said something and provides them with a link to your user/talk page (for further discussion). Thank you.

How to take pictures of smartphones that you can upload here.[edit]
If you want to upload a picture 📷 of a Google wireless telephone that’s acceptable in Wikimedia Commons’ scope and compatible with its licensing you can take a photograph of one where the wireless telephone is either off or on stand-by, or you could take one where it shows Wikipedia or another freely re-usable website, but the reason the image was previously marked as a copyright violation was because you do not own the copyright to the Google software 👩💻 displayed on the screen so the image was deemed unacceptable. You could otherwise upload it to Wikipedia if it falls within fair use but it's better to upload an image here to Wikimedia Commons like the one on the left so Wikipedia’s in other languages may use them too.
