Salut ℍenry, encyclophile. Désolé de ne pas t'avoir contacté à ce propos. J'ai pensé que la simple modification et recatégorisation des des images serai suffisante. Oui je suis partial, je parle l'anglais anglais... Mais qu'y puis-je, on nous l'enseigne à l'école... Pour ce qui concerne français ou en général européen, j'utilise l'anglais anglais et pour les choses américaines, l'anglais américain. C'est plus juste. Donc pour résumer, j'ai ouvert les catégories Category:Railway stations in X pour les départements et régions les plus peuplées (de photos). Medium joke ! In my mind, it's not a description of a chain, it's only a tool to use under Inkscape or (maybe) another application. It's not exactly like another figur you just have to download, resize and change its colour(s). In this case, some precautions have to be taken. Maybe you are smarter than me using SVG figurs but my purpose is only to try to give profit of my researchs and discoveries to non-expert users (of course not you !). J'ai vu tes nombreuses photos de mairies et je te félicite pour ce beau travail. J'ai récemment remanié les catégories sous Category:Town halls in France pour découper par département et rendre ainsi plus pratique la navigation. Les départements d'Île-de-France sont quant à eux regroupés sous Category:Town halls in Île-de-France.
Je voulais juste te suggérer, pour améliorer la lisibilité des descriptions des images, d'utiliser les modèles suivants, qui permettent de donner une description par langue (à terme, ils devraient même peut-être servir à n'afficher que la description existant dans la langue spécifiée par l'utilisateur dans ses préférences) :

En fait, l'idée est de faire comme tu fais d'habitude, mais d'utiliser le modèle [[:Template:Fr|{{Ma description en français avec des liens si nécessaire}}]] à l'intérieur du champ Description du tableau. Ca donne donc quelque chose comme :

Your templates[edit]

Hi, I've noticed a problem with the creation date in some of you're images. The problem comes from you're use of {{CURRENTDAY}}/{{CURRENTMONTH}}/{{CURRENTYEAR}} in Modèle pour blasons SVG and Modèle pour meubles héraldiques. If this is entered on a image page than anytime anyone edits the page the date is updated. By writing {{subst:CURRENTDAY}}/{{subst:CURRENTMONTH}}/{{subst:CURRENTYEAR}} instead the current date will be entered but later edits won't change it. =)

Hej (swedish). What subst: does is that it forces the template to be written out completly instead of just linking to it. The way you've designed Category:Wheat in heraldry looks nice. I would like to use the picture in my articles on heraldry on the Dutch Wikipedia but this detail is one thing that I would change. I have found the "Araldica Gonzaghesca" by Giancarlo Malacarne in my library. The drawing of the arms of the papal bearer of the gonfalone (page 114) is somewhat sketchy. The gonfalone of the first quarter of the 16th.century may have been painted or embroidered with an incorrect depiction of the ombrellino.
Did you know that the words "ombrellino" and "gonfalone" are often used in an incorrect manner? The gonfalone is a banner. The ombrellino is an umbrella. I have corrected the matter on the English and German Wikipediæ. I have made a correct drawing, at least I hope that it is correct, on the Dutch Wiki.
Other drawings of mine are on:

  • [[1]] A large project with 200 crosses
  • [[2]] A lot of work. Because the rules on copyright are so strict in the Netherlands I can not invoke the "fair use" rule. Everything has to be drawn...
  • [[3]] With a small but correct coat of arms of the camerlengho.
  • [[4]] Was als drawn by me.

The pictures are much smaller and less beautifull than thoseof yours. I work on an old computer... The documents would get far to big and the computer crashes every now and then!

Catégorisation des blasons[edit]

Bonjour Henry,

J'ai vu que tu avais ajouté une catégorie Coats of arms of cities in Nord sur le blason de Saint-Amand-les-Eaux. Tu as bien fait, mais depuis que j'ai modifié notre modèle il y a une autre méthode pour arriver au même résultat : ajouter les paramètres |catCOAof=cities in Nord et |alias=Saint-Amand-les-Eaux. Ceci a pour effet :

  • d'ajouter la catégorie, comme tu le souhaitais ;
  • de supprimer la catégorie Coat of arms of cities in France qui est redondante si tu précises le département ;
  • de classer le dessin à S (comme Saint-Amand) dans les diverses catégories ajoutées en automatique (Blasons de France, SVG coats of arms - France, Created with inkscape), et non plus à B (comme le nom du fichier Blason_ville_fr...).

J'avais commencé à repasser sur tous mes dessins pour les adapter à ce nouveau modèle, et puis je me suis laissé emporter par ma guerre sur les licences. Je m'y remettrai plus tard.

I corrected the Italian text, but in case it is me that be wrong (I am no heraldry expert), you should then kindly correct both the name of the file and English and French captions. Hello, on se tutoyera, alors. C'est si familial, ici! ;-)
I understand what you mean about categorising by charge as requested by massimop, but if you have a closer look at the category, you will notice that almost all of the images need to be categorised from every point of view. What I meant, is that coats of arms of families of France that are in that unsorted category, should be moved into the appropriate category: i.e. Coats of arms of families of France, ditto for coats of arms of municipalities, regions of France (e.g. Bretagne, Anjou...) and charges (royal coats of arms, and so on). It takes a French person to do it, since I cannot tell from the names whether a French name is from France, Québec, Belgium, Switzerland or whatever (I could recognise Italian unsorted COAs by their names, but that's all I can do), so I should check town by town and family by family... "Europe is our country", but France is better known by the French! :-)
Your travel is a nice idea, but you will be surprised at the devastation time and men made on our historical legacy... I'm trying to documnt on Commons as much as I can... which is not little, anyway :-) Best wishes --G.dallorto 14:00, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rondelles orbitales[edit]

J'ai vu que tu avais classé le blason de Villepreux dans la catégorie Orbs in heraldry. Je pense qu'il aurait mieux sa place dans la catégorie Roundels in heraldry, orb étant selon mes sources la version anglophone de monde ou globe. Je fais la correction : tu pourras toujours l'annuler en cas de contestation.

Catégorisation des blasons[edit]

Bonsoir Henry,

Je repasse consciencieusement sur de nombreux dessins de blasons pour ajouter des catégories, classer par département, par ordre alphabétique, etc. ; j'espère que leurs auteurs n'en sont pas vexés. Mais la même conscience me fait soudain hésiter sur ton dessin d'Apremont :

  • Tu utilises le paramètre |nofr= alors qu'il s'agit d'une commune française ; est-ce une erreur ou y a-t-il une raison cachée ? Le seul intérêt potentiel est que cela supprime la catégorie Coats of arms of France qui ne sert pas à grand chose mais ne gêne pas beaucoup non plus. Au besoin il faudrait la supprimer carrément du modèle Blason-en-fr. En tout cas l'utilisation de ce paramètre pour une commune (ou une famille) française me semble le détourner de son objectif.
  • Tu utilises la catégorie Leopards in heraldry qu'un autre aimable intervenant a créée. J'utilise pour ma part dans le même cas Lions in heraldry car je croyais qu'un léopard se disait dans la langue de Shakespeare lion passant guardant. Ce n'est pas moi qui ai souhaité que le nom des catégories soit en anglais, mais puisqu'il l'est pouvons-nous y calquer nos catégories francophones ? Le débat est ouvert.
  • J'ai vu que tu as prévu d'utiliser le modèle DEFAULTSORT qui éviterait de répéter le nom de la ville dans chaque catégorie ajoutée. Je trouve l'idée excellente, et je me demande même si cela ne vaudrait pas le coup de l'ajouter à notre modèle Blason-fr-en. Prochainement dans nos salles...
  • Enfin, pour info, j'ai prévu d'ajouter un axe à nos catégories pour rassembler les pièces ondées, engrêlées, etc. J'ai déjà ajouté Wavy ordinaries que j'avais nommée ainsi pour pouvoir la déclarer comme sous-catégorie de Heraldic ordinaries, mais je regrette maintenant de devoir séparer les fasces ondées et les fascés ondés ; je la renommerai donc peut-être prochainement en Wavy ordinaries and heraldic divisions. Ton avis ? Apremont sera ainsi prochainement dans la catégorie Battled and embattled ordinaries (and heraldic divisions ?!?). Avis aux amateurs : cela fait quelques nouvelles catégories à créer.

Seguo sempre con piacere il tuo lavoro e, per ora, verifico le blasonature in italiano solo per gli stemmi delle città che compaiono negli armoriali dei dipartimenti già tradotti in italiano; gli altri li farò man mano che riesco a tradurre gli armoriali. Réponse pour le moins tardive due à mon absence sur WP depuis septembre 2007. La source que j'annonce dans l'image est la WP anglaise : en:Image:Isabella di Aragona as Mona Lisa.jpg. Au-delà, je ne sais rien, je m'aperçois que l'image de en:WP a été supprimée au profit de celle-ci que j'ai chargée sur Commons, voir peut-être les articles l'utilisant.
Qui plus est, les Anglais disaient Isabelle d'Aragon et vous Jeanne ! Il conviendrait de contrôler les dates et éventuellement le parcours de Raphaël ! ℍenry (Babel talk !) (Francophone ?) 15:04, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Catégorie Checks in heraldry[edit]

Je m'aperçois que tu as créé une catégorie Checks in heraldry. Après cinq mois d'existence, elle ne regroupe que trois dessins qui pourraient aussi bien se trouver soit dans Chequy shields soit dans Lozengy shields.

Vois-tu un inconvénient à ce que je demande la suppression de cette catégorie ?

Bonjour Bruno ! Pas de problèmes ! Il est vrai que ces dessins ne sont pas à proprement parler des meubles mais plutôt des compositions de champs au même titre que les plus courants semés.
