First steps tutorial

Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content).

You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki.

Getting help

More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump.

Goodies, tips, and tricks
  • Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
  • You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.
  • Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~.
  • To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
  • You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.
  • There are several tools to upload files.
  • Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful.
Made a mistake?
  • Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it.
  • Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

Dear sir or madam I saw you were saying one of the pictures i uploaded doesn't belong to me it's actually from the internet, you said it had a copyright violation will you kindly bring me proof that the work is not mine and it actually belongs to you,I never saw anywhere here where you uploaded the same picture. Sir i hope you noticed that Nkwadzile is a Surname and it is obvious that this person is my family member (brother) for sure we use the same Surname .Is there a rule that mention that family and using the same Surname is not allowed on wiki ? If so please mention it . If you can check correctly on my talk page i was communicating with the user how can i talk to my self . The issue of week quality pictures it is because we don't have a camera in our house not everyone afford everything . Sir please understand i am not playing games with you that not me . Check your talk page i reported the user how can i report my self will i want my self blocked?? Please take a look into this matter you can clearly see thats not me . i just hope you understand and you unblock me i know you have a family and you know that family has the same surname .If i will never be unblocked tell me i will give up . I'm not blaming anyone for the edits in my account i do all the edits in my account and there is no edit that goes against the rules . I'm suspected of using two accounts , does Moatlhodi Nkwadzile (Jutas) use the same Ip address as mine no right . The pictures of flowers you mentioned are not taken and are not uploaded from the same device why ? Because that is a different user. That article you mentioned it talks about blaming someone for edits in your account i am not blaming my brother for any edit from my account he has his account and he does his edits there " User:Moatlhodi Nkwadzile (Jutas) and Nkwadzile is our Surname and this are two different user's if it possible ask for our Identity Card's we will prove to you that this are two different user's .Admin you are wrong by Suspecting me and i will bring any proof to get unblocked .Thank you Gosego Nkwadzile (talk) 20:58, 21 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
