Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~. To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg. You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful information about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

@Leoboudv: I don't understand this warning message. This image was made by the Government of Catalonia and there is the attribution ({{Attribution-gencat}}) in the license specification. --Gerardduenas (talk) 11:32, 3 December 2017 (UTC)

@Jcb: : This deletion was under discussion with @Leoboudv: . I updated the source and the image had the attribution correctly cited when it was deleted. I know how difficult it is to maintain Commons from illegal content, but this image had the attribution and the problem was that the link had broken not so long ago. Eventhough the link was a 404, the image contains the logo of the author (which has provided an OTRS). Administrators should help other not-so-experienced users, not bite them. It is a pity that the administrator role of commons ends in the hands of some people that only want to delete, delete and delete, without taking into consideration that the image that they are removing is included in several pages of several wikis that may loose information. If I lost my nerve, I can't imagine what happens to hundreds of rookies that upload files for the first time in the best of their intentions. I'd like you to think about it. I don't think you understand what is expected of an admin. Having said that, I ask that you restore File:Piramide gencat.png or File:Piramide alim saludable x700.jpg with the updated source [1]. These were images, not just "information". The legal notice page at source clearly states a 'non-alteration' condition. ND restrictions are not allowed per COM:L. Jcb (talk) 11:46, 12 December 2017 (UTC)

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the 2022 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the seventeenth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2022) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year are all entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

For your convenience, we have sorted the images into topical categories. Two rounds of voting will be held: In the first round, you may vote for as many images as you like. The top 30 overall and the two most popular images in each category will continue to the final. In the final round, you may vote for just three images to become the Picture of the Year.

Round 1 will end on 1 May 2023, 23:59:59 UTC.
