First steps tutorial

Our first steps help file and our FAQ will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy. You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold contributing here and assume good faith for the intentions of others. This is a wiki ‒ it is really easy.

Getting help

More information is available at the Community Portal. You may ask questions at the Help desk, Village Pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons. You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at Commons talk:Licensing.

Goodies, tips and tricks
  • Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your Graphics abilities.
  • All your uploads are stored in your personal Gallery
  • Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~
  • Use the CommonSense tool to find good categories for your files (then other people can find them too!)
  • To link to an image page, write this: [[:Image:Foo.jpg]], it makes this: Image:Foo.jpg
  • If you're copying files from another project, be sure to use the CommonsHelper

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Eliminação dos Estandartes[edit]

Amanhã continuarei a mesma demanda, como me eliminaram a página por motivos fúteis irei efetuar o pedido que fiz para todos os estandartes que não tiverem a licença necessária. Querem brincar aos adultos, irei vos mostrar como é que se fazem as coisas de forma bem legal. Eliminaram a minha página File:Estandarte sdr.png sem autorização e sem nenhum motivo alegando futilidades absurdas!!! Pois bem irei agora vos mostrar como é que se joga um jogo legal e de adultos!!! A menos que seja a própria Junta de Freguesia/Câmara a carregar o ficheiro, todas as páginas que não tiverem esta qualificação não se enquadram na área legal!!! Aliás é só mesmo ler a lei segundo o Artigo 4.º da Lei nº53/91: “1 - O direito ao uso de símbolos heráldicos com uma determinada ordenação é adquirido: a) Pelas autarquias locais, por deliberação dos seus órgãos competentes, depois de ouvida a Comissão de Heráldica da Associação dos Arqueólogos Portugueses; b) Pelas pessoas colectivas de utilidade pública administrativa a seu pedido e por despacho do Ministro do Planeamento e da Administração do Território, proferido depois de ouvida a Comissão de Heráldica da Associação dos Arqueólogos Portugueses. 2 - A oponibilidade a terceiros do direito referido no número anterior depende da publicação das ordenações dos símbolos heráldicos no Diário da República. 3 - Todas as ordenações publicadas no Diário da República são oficiosamente registadas no Ministério do Planeamento e da Administração do Território.” http://www.pgdlisboa.pt/leis/lei_mostra_articulado.php?nid=2108&tabela=leis&nversao Eu sei que gostam de não estar de acordo com a lei e com grande probabilidade me irão suspender/bloquear, se o fizerem e não me apresentarem justificações legais, irei pôr o Ministério Público a par deste facto. Para quem se afirma da SPA, não percebe que esta lei, cujo está explícito, não é referente a direitos autorais, mas ao direito de legítimo de símbolos heráldicos. "direito ao uso de símbolos heráldicos" não é a mesma coisa que direitos de autor ou autoria?
A sua reacção é típica de um menino mimado. Apagaram-lhe um ficheiro em 2012, com ou sem motivos não interessa para o caso, e agora em 2016 passados quatro anos decide fazer birra de menino pequenino. Tm (talk) 21:43, 12 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Caro Geosapiens, em primeiro lugar, está enganado quanto à questão do copyright dos símbolos nacionais, regionais e locais. Os símbolos em si não estão protegidos por copyright, não sendo preciso autorização# do Estado (central ou local) para usá-los, desde que o seu uso seja digno. Também não é preciso obter autorização dos vexilologistas que foram contratados pelo Estado (incluindo autarquias) para criarem os símbolos em causa, pois o contrato de criação inclui a cedência dos direitos ao Estado.
De quem é preciso obter autorização, isso sim, para os efeitos da Wikipédia, é do autor do ficheiro em concreto (ou o detentor dos seus direitos). Qualquer pessoa pode criar, sem pedir autorização, uma imagem que corresponda à descrição do símbolo de uma freguesia, conforme consta do Diário da República, mas, obviamente, cada ficheiro em concreto teve um autor concreto.
Ora, foi precisamente isso que eu fiz: no caso das imagens da autoria do site "Veraki.pt", contactei-os e obtive deles a autorização de utilização na Wikipédia. (Tenho o e-mail que o prova.) No caso das imagens da autoria de Sérgio Horta, um outro utilizador, Dragao, alega ter obtido igual autorização (citando a troca de mensagens com o autor), não tendo eu razões para duvidar da palavra do utilizador em causa.
Aproveito para deplorar a mesquinhez que o move. Tamanha perrice será expectável numa criança de 4 anos, pelo que desde já tem os meus parabéns por saber escrever razoavelmente bem com tão tenra idade.
Já agora, informo que esqueceu de marcar algumas das bandeiras que eu disponibilizei no Commons, para além de todos os brasões... Tss, tss... Não faça as coisas pela metade! Tenha brio, "homem"!!! Gazilion (talk) 00:24, 13 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
# NOTA: Já agora, ao contrário do que pensa, o n.º 1 do Art.º 4 da Lei n.º 53/91 não tem por fim limitar-nos a nós, "povo", todo e qualquer uso dos símbolos heráldicos aprovados, mas proibir três situações:
  • Que as autarquias usem símbolos que não tenham sido oficialmente aprovados. Trata-se, por isso, de uma limitação às autarquias, não a nós.
  • Que terceiros usem determinado símbolo heráldico para representar outra entidade que não aquela a que pertencem. Não é o que se passa na Wikipédia: as bandeiras são usadas nas páginas dedicadas às autarquias a que pertencem (salvo erro, claro).
  • Que terceiros usem determinado símbolo heráldico para fingir que determinado documento, edifício, etc., pertence à entidade representada pelo símbolo em causa. Também não é o que se passa na Wikipédia: a página da freguesia X não finge ser uma página pertença dessa freguesia (i.e., o sítio oficial); é, simplesmente, uma página sobre essa freguesia. (De igual modo, não é ilegal o senhor hastear a bandeira da sua freguesia na janela de sua casa, se for apenas para afirmar «Eu sou natural desta freguesia» — será ilegal, isso sim, se o fizer para fingir que a sua casa é a sede da Junta de Freguesia... Outro exemplo: se escrever uma monografia sobre uma autarquia, tem todo o direito a ilustrar a capa com os símbolos dessa autarquia — mas não tem o direito de usar esses símbolos no local onde será expectável que figure o símbolo do editor se o o editor não for a dita autarquia.)
Adicionalmente, a oponibilidade ao uso por terceiros a que se refere o n.º 2 do mesmo artigo é, de facto, uma limitação sobre a oponibilidade: impõe requisitos para essa oponibilidade, pelo que a proibição do uso não é automática. Donde, se não houver oposição explícita por quem de direito, não há ilegalidade no uso. Assim, se quer levar a sua birra avante, deverá contactar cada autarquia, para que ela exerça, se achar por bem, o tal direito à oponibilidade.Gazilion (talk) 00:47, 13 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
