Thanks for uploading File:Theatre station.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Theatre station.jpg]]) and the above demanded information in your request.

File:Lekki-deep-sea-port.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

This file may be deleted.
A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:Bayajidda-eng5.jpg, is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such works would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a map that has been altered from the original. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright.

Please edit the file description and add the missing information, or the file may be deleted. If you created the original content yourself, enter this information as the source. If someone else created the content, the source should be the address to the web page where you found it, the name and ISBN of the book you scanned it from, or similar. You should also name the author, provide verifiable information to show that the content is in the public domain or has been published under a free license by its author, and add an appropriate template identifying the public domain or licensing status, if you have not already done so. Please add the required information for this and other files you have uploaded before adding more files. If you need assistance, please ask at the help desk. Thank you!

Hi @Eugene, on what basis did you mark which files uploaded by Frankveck as speedydelete? The topomaps are all quite simple and may well be self-made. On the other hand, you ignored a lot of other files that are just as (non-?)suspect as the rest. Did you find a concrete example of a copyvio?
@Frankveck: If you used material made by others (even if it is from Commons), you better link the used material that your uploads are based upon, in each image's description. --Enyavar (talk) 16:37, 25 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have created my own topographic map of Nigeria maybe two years ago. I use it for many purposes - like showing the railway network of the country or, in this case, to show the 14 Hausa states in Northern Nigeria. The "picture in the picture" therefore is mine, just as the 14 dots and the text. FrankvEck (talk) 16:11, 27 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay that means that @EugeneZelenko: seems to have tagged many of your files incorrectly. Eugene, what are you going to do about that, do you accept this explanation?
On the other hand, I do share Eugenes doubts with regards to some non-maps, like the 3D models of the harbor or the bridge: Frankveck, did you also create those from scratch with no sources? I still think your task is to go over the whole list and edit all description pages. Include your used sources (I think Eugene got suspicious because you mentioned various books (?) in the watermarks (like here) but didn't mention anything in the file description.
On the other hand, if you took some image from others on the web, please accept that those are to be considered CopyVios. --Enyavar (talk) 21:01, 27 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I tagged derivatives of topographical maps and post-processed photos without clear original. Both cases are doubtful enough. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 13:59, 28 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
As said, these are drawings. MY drawings. Not post-processed photos. FrankvEck (talk) 14:02, 28 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, all illustrations have been drawn by myself and obviously what can be seen, does not come purely from my imagination. I am not familiar with the exact WP guidelines; if something needs to be illustrated, I draw it in my vector graphics system and upload it. I can assure you that I did not insert any pixel-images in my vector drawings (they would stick out like a sore thumb anyway). In these two cases I remember I took stills from videos on YT as a basis, but changed quite a bit. I always do.
Problems with copyright should not be there because the vector drawing is more detailed than the still, I changed the colors dramatically, the perspective, the tilt, the resolution is better - it can not be confused with the original (I tested that on Google). The ship in the harbour was only three red pixels in the still, I had to compare it with other material to draw at that place a red container ship. I drew the waves, I drew the shoreline, I drew the cranes, I drew the buildings around the harbour. Everything. Took some time.
Glancing over the list, all images are drawings - drawn by me, to the smallest detail. Smaller details than the stills provided.
(Images for educational purposes, collages and reviews are within the Common Use regulation, in my opinion my illustrations are educational and collages - but I am an illustrator and writer, not a lawyer.)
If it still is not within the WP guidelines, it is fine by me. Remove it. I am not getting paid by anybody. I am doing this with good intentions and for free. All I try is to make things clear in a didactic sense. FrankvEck (talk) 13:59, 28 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I am inclined to believe you, although it would help your case a lot if you can name the software and source material used, especially for the more involved images. "Own work" is totally okay with simple photos, but once photoshop gets seriously involved, some details are appreciated besides "I made it", that's the reason Eugene believes these are derivatives. Drone footage, satellite footage, maps and postprocessed 3D from-vector renderings are not simple to make. Like: I have no idea how File:Agbor3.jpg was made. --Enyavar (talk) 09:51, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I work with Adobe Illustrator. - I think, the problem is, that I put A LOT of extra work in creating illustrations like the topographic map of Westafrica/Nigeria, with the result that Eugene doubts that it really has been created by myself. Would it help, if I send you the ai- or eps-file (warning: it is HUGE!)?
Looking at the Agbor-file, this work is more than 2 years old and I had forgotten about it. One of my first attempts. I would not put this on WP anymore. It's embarrassing. If you guys delete it, you do me a favour. It is a collage, either in PS or AI, the different fractions have been blurred to a different degree - this just is not fit for an encyclopedia.
In my country a public holiday is coming up (Corpus Christi), I suggest I browse your list tomorrow for similarly embarrassing images. I think Eugene made his point. FrankvEck (talk) 10:37, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
