An offering for our new administrator from your comrades...

Florent Abel/Archives/2007, congratulations! You now have the rights of administrator on Commons. Please take a moment to read the Commons:Administrators page and watchlist related pages (in particular Commons:Administrators' noticeboard and Commons:Deletion requests), before launching yourself into page deletions, page protections, account blockings or modifications of protected pages. The majority of the actions of administrators can be reversed by the other admins, except for history merges which must thus be treated with particular care.

Please feel free to join us on IRC: #wikimedia-commons @ irc.freenode.net.

Congratulations. I would ask you to take heed of the comments made by the several neutrals you received, but I think you will be fine. Please ask any admin for help if you need it and best wishes. ++Lar: t/c 20:36, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

PS please update Commons:List of administrators and the language and date pages to add yourself, if you would. ++Lar: t/c 20:43, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Incomprehensible deletion

Hi Florent, you deleted Image:Hitlermusso2 edit.jpg but forgot to provide a reason. Could you please tell me why you deleted it. Thanks in advance, Noddy93 16:17, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

No date. No author information. Media lacking a description. Trixt asks for its deletion : "the correct tag is Template:PD-Italy (see source), forbidden here on Commons". But, I deleted too quickly this file. In English Wikipedia, we can read : "This is a featured picture, which means that members of the community have identified it as one of the finest images on the English Wikipedia, adding significantly to its accompanying article. If you have a different image of similar quality, be sure to upload it using the proper free license tag, add it to a relevant article, and nominate it." So, I restor this photo thanks to your message. We will see what will do other admins. Florent Pécassou 06:38, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for your explanation! But there's no doubt that the image has to be deleted here on Commons because of the reasons mentioned above. Cheers, Noddy93 09:22, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

Please restore that image. You may delete the duplicate Image:Diamant.png (after linkfixing). It's much bigger in KB but worse in quality. Rainer ... 13:50, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

OK but who are you ? Appearing in duplicate, this image has been proposed for delation (by Cecil). I don't think Image:Diamant.png is worse in quality. Other admin has deleted and may delete again this file . Please do not forget to sign your post with ~~~~. Florent Pécassou 14:45, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
I didn't propose it for deletion. It was in the dupes-list and so I gave the delinking-job to the CommonsDelinker and then deleted it. Rainer, the author of the picture, then asked me to restore it and so I did. I then removed the delinker-message but it seems I have overlooked the dupes-message and left it with the picture. -- Cecil 20:08, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for your explanation ! Florent Pécassou 20:20, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

Image:Wikiball.png has been restored [1] as it is not a copyvio. This means that its transparent copy (linked in section header) should also be restored. Funpika 19:20, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

Problématique de suppression d'image

Bonjour Florent

Image : Image:GM BaouabaDjazair02v02.jpg

Informations déjà disponibles :

== Summary == Description= Illustration for the arabic Algeria Portal. Source= Own Illustrator by uploader. Author= M.GASMI. This illustration with all images are under under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License == Licensing == {{self2|GFDL|cc-by-2.5}}
